[As he waits for a response, he glances off to the side, muttering under his breath.]

B-Side: Flashback to The Storm:

"Echo to Temba. Come in, Temba- !"

Third time's the charm and it was still no good. The comms weren't working. Nothing was working.

The hiss in the former ARC Trooper's voice dropped off as he stayed low, using whatever was available for cover in Sh'Ka. His helmet jerked upward as a giant shadow passed over him, staring at the shambling bear-like creature making its way through the wilds of the city.

Exhaling a thin breath, Echo waited before glancing back over his shoulder to be sure Omega was still there, relaxing a bit more when he confirmed she was indeed still with him. "All communications are down," he quietly informed her, albeit mildly irritated that this was all happening again. "Unless we come across other people out in the storm, it looks like we're on our own."

I've been here a month or two. I don't know how "new" that is around here.

You mean the storms, or was something else happening there?

Still counts as new in my book.

It's mostly the storms. I should have expected the effects Sh'Ka underwent during them, but... [He shakes his head with a sigh.] Usually it's the wildness you need to be aware of, but this is the first time I've seen giant beasts roaming the city.

It's been pretty wild, alright. That was happening here too.

There too? How can that be?

I'm not sure. It seemed to be creatures from everyone's folktales back in their homes. I don't get how the storms made them corporeal.

Folktales...

[A false memory in the back of his mind recognizes it, conjures a faint idea of it, and then settles back into nothing. He still files it away just in case it serves purpose later on down the road.]

...Previous storms have done similar things. They affect those who possess supernatural abilities. They also bring in people you think you'll never see again.

Frustrating thing is, there's just no explanation for it.

[Radley frowns, unsettled. He hasn't experienced that latter part of it.]

Dead people? Or just anyone from home?

It sounds like a colossal way to mess with our heads.

Could be either one...although the most I've seen was the former. There's never a guarantee you'll be able to ignore them once they appear, and no way of telling what they will do to you if you get too close to them.

... That's definitely one more really good reason to avoid the storms.

[Radley looks creeped out. This would definitely be the worst part of the storms for him.]

I guess if anyone does get too close, they're never heard from again?

[He considers that thought, tilting his head slightly as he replies.]

More like you're putting yourself in harm's way unless you do your best to ignore them.

Yeah, that's a given. Well, I hope those who didn't ignore them still made it back safe....

[To be killed by what looked like a loved one ... it's too horrible and haunting.]

[He sighs, nodding.]

Exactly the reason why I put out this call. I'll be waiting to see if anyone else responds, but so far it's more than I expected.

So, so far everyone seems to be okay?
