[OTA & closed] At least the Venue is beautiful...

WARNINGS: %
NOTES: Let's not forget that Jon has an outfit as well.
I - Lamenting [ closed to Tony ]
The chapel is beautiful. Large and open, white stone with big, colorful windows to let in as much sunlight as possible - All very much the opposite of most of the churches Jon remembers having visited in London. Not that he has ever been religious or a regular church goer, but he visited a few out of curiosity - Or while doing research. This chapel? Is simply beautiful. And quite possibly built to fulfill the purpose most people visit it for: To have a beautiful, a perfect, a memorable wedding. It's no wonder the place has their hands full and the waiting list is filled, but at least the place remains open unless a private ceremony is booked.
Jon has picked a time between ceremonies to sit in one of the back rows and simply take in the view and the atmosphere in the chapel while cleanup and redecorating are taking place in surprising silence. Professionals, indeed. He has sent Tony a message while he had been back on his ship, asking to meet him there. If only to show him the place.
II - Seagulls, the sea and and- A book? [ OTA ]
Having grown up at the ocean himself, Limsa Lominsa offers a certain familiarity to Jon and he can't deny that wandering the city and just taking in the seemingly endless waters around offers a certain kind of comfort and nostalgia. He even came across actual books in the market and picket one up despite the unfamiliar letters and language. The Eye and still having the communications expertise are two powerful tools to tear down such language barriers. Fortunately.
Having found himself a spot to sit near the water, accompanied by a couple of seagulls, Jon is flipping through the book, reading a few passages to himself before turning to one of the birds with a raised brow. "It's a collection of short stories." The seagull looks at him, uncomprehending. "I think I will record a few of these. And see what other books I can find here." A 'Squawk' from the seagull as it turns towards the sea and flies away, disturbed by the approaching presence of someone else. Jon turns his head to greet the person with a nod.

"Anyway. That's the source of those tape recorders. Which may explain why them still showing up from time to time is at least to some degree disconcerting. But they play the tapes just fine."
no subject
"I guess since you weren't in the library the two times I've been in there, the recorders just weren't present. Mothcats were though. They're... cute. Pretty sure they don't like me though."
no subject
He clears his throat. Right. Mothcats...
"You met some of them? The mothcats. I mean... At the time you were... Visiting the library... They were watching over their nests. But they can be just as curious as they can be cautious. Which makes sense given they aren't domesticated by any means." Jon shrugs. "I don't think they dislike anyone that doesn't try hurting one of them. You should give them a chance."

A quiet moment. York keeps himself from thinking too much about android murders and keeps his attitude in check. Think about mothcats.
"Didn't really meet the mothcats per say. Saw glowing eyes above when I was heh, yeah, visiting the library. Then I saw them when I met Tony and Peter there before we were brought here. Didn't really interact with them."
Truthfully, York's never interacted with animals before. They never had pets in the Stark household, with Antonio's reasoning being that he didn't want his androids chewed on like toys.
"I've never had a pet before."
no subject
"They aren't really pets." Jon shrugs lightly. "They decide to stay as long as they like and for the most part take care of themselves. A pet is more something you take care of, feed and clean up after." He smiles as he says this, however. "But if you do it right, your pet will trust you. And that trust is worth all the work." Not that he has had any cats himself. He took care of the Admiral while living with Georgie, however, and he still recalls the time he got to spend with the cat fondly.

He opens his mouth to argue back and thinks of how the first pedantic argument he had started went with Jon. York had been doing well so far in not being a little shit. The mouth closes and he looks away, stopping himself from making an ass of himself once again.
"We weren't allowed a pet. Dad told us that they would chew on us and ruin his work." This time he looks back to Jon. "Would they chew on me?"
no subject
"Growing up, I never had a pet either. Which is fair enough. My grandmother had plenty to do with taking care of me. And a pet may have been more than she could afford."
no subject
He smirks just a little as Jon reveals a little about himself. "Were you a handful? Or did you just grow up to be one?" It's teasing, though York's not certain if he's getting the 'teasing' tone right. Teasing is new when it's not dripping with sarcasm. Richie at least understands how to read into what he's saying. "I should come by the library more, if I'm allowed. To look at the books if there are any and see if the mothcats like me."
no subject
"But yes. I already told you to stop by again. And as for myself... Well. I have come to accept that I have been a very annoying child growing up." This doesn't really need to be discussed too much as far as he's concerned.
no subject
He snickers and tries to cover it with his hand, but the laugh bubbles past the appendage anyways. "I would've agreed with that assessment in a synthetic heartbeat when we first met, which I think is funny knowing you better now." York lets the amusement settle, feels how it lights his circuits like other positive emotions do. "I should probably head out so I can go get paid for scaring off seagulls. Annoying feather fucks."
no subject
"I will see you around."
