[Event] Its Lonely Out In Space

WHO: Ami and open to everyone else on the Twin Roses
WHERE:The Twin Roses
WHAT: Space, the final frontier. These are the anxieties of the schoolgirl, Ami Mizuno.
WHEN: Start of event

1. Now boarding Flight 14 to Eorzea
As everyone assembles to board the Twin Roses, they may notice the newest member of the crew. An emphasis on 'may' as the blue haired teen in an oversized sweater is trying her hardest to not be noticed by anyone. Hiding in shadows at the furthest fringes of the crowd, she is also trying her hardest not to break down into a full blown anxiety attack.

Its a simple equation: Ami minus friends minus time to adjust minus Sailor Mercury plus total strangers plus alien planet equals NOPE.

She can be brave. She can make friends. She could do this, given time. Time she wasn't given. It doesn't help that she doesn't know anyone on her ship, or that most of them are older than her. One of them is even obviously an alien! They're all 'he rows', right? Hopefully? With Ami now the most reluctant astronaut this side of Don Knotts, she'll continue to stay at a distance while all curled up with herself.

She could use a friend. Or a few.

2. Have fun storming the castle!
The trip over will see her finding a nice seat on the Twin Roses that's far away from everyone while she can still peek out through the giant window into space. Here, her fears momentarily subsided, a genuine look of awe from wide blue eyes as they enter into orbit. There were other bigger things on her mind during her trip to the Moon, here even her anxiety couldn't beat the actual view of a planet from orbit. "Its incredible..." The girl's fascination abruptly ends with the message from Ga Re, and the repeated mentions of 'safe' are not helping at all.

She's the last to enter the hold, and doesn't even bother opening her box once she spies what's in everyone else's. "That's... it? They want us to go down with only that?"

Again, Ami is brave. Ami is also fully aware she's just a teenage girl completely out of her element. And, Ami is anything but reckless. "I'll stay up here and be helpful, somehow. Stay safe, everyone."

She could also use some encouragement. Or a phaser.

3. Star Trekkin' across the universe

Perhaps it's a bad sign that the pilot-apparent is almost as reluctant as the young schoolgirl. The strangely silent woman in the black full-body riding suit and the yellow cat-eared helmet had been tense ever since taking her seat at the cockpit, her hands tight upon the steering yoke. Had the shipped prepped and moved on its own? Had she? She really has no idea. Her memory's a fog- nothing she much likes either, considering she already has problems with memories as it is.

We're in space. Her fingers move across the panel of buttons and switches, flicking and tapping at them seemingly at random, but she somehow knows what she was doing.

We're in space and that was an alien ship back there- or maybe this is a simulation? No...Aaagh no, don't think about it, don't think about it..!

It feels like they're hardly moving. It's unsettling. This is nothing like riding a motorcycle. Panic wells in her at the reminder that she'd left Shooter behind. But she'd had to. She hadn't even brought her communicator. How is she going to talk to anyone?

She still hasn't budged well after the shuttle's been put into orbit, but she's finally managed to pry her fingers from the steering yoke, sagging back against the rigid pilot's seat.

The woman lifts her helmeted head at the quiet voice that sounds nearby, and she sits up a little to look over. Ah, the...schoolgirl? I'm not familiar with the uniform though, she thinks.

Without much ability to greet the girl any other way, Celty offers a polite bow, or as much as she can while sitting. She's still not entirely sure she trusts that the ship won't suddenly drift off course to stand just yet.

At least the girl looks a little more at ease. Celty wishes she could smile in return, almost shyly reaching up to touch the formed ears of her helmet. A nod- what else could she offer?

She isn't really sure she was fond of cats. Shinra had got it for her. But then she supposes she doesn't dislike cats either, and she's certainly gotten attached to the helmet. Part of her mysterious trademark.

There's a moment that the woman looks a bit flustered. Shy isn't exactly what she'd meant to portray but she can see how that mistake can be made.

Celty looks around at the console before her. Surely there must be some way she can use something to communicate through? It was exasperating that the Agrii had told them to bring nothing. Would they have made an exception for her?

She pokes at a few buttons by a small screen. There's supposed to be a way to communicate between ships, so perhaps there's the option to use text? Ah, this is so annoying! A thought crosses her mind then, and she looks at Ami, hoping that her actions haven't been concerning. Rude, certainly, and she must apologize.

I hope I don't scare her...

Looking towards the floor between them, Celty holds her hands up, a gesture of reassurance- which probably doesn't make sense right then. She points at the floor, tracing in the air. Blackness seems to coalesce from her shadow, forming neat lines of words on the metal paneling.

A teaching occupation is something that has never come to mind. Celty's just glad that she's found another way to communicate, so long as her powers aren't cut off.

Her shoulders relax a little in obvious relief at the girl's words. She nods her agreement.

Ah, Juuban... I think I may have gone through there a few times, she thinks. The distance isn't too far from Ikebukurou if she remembers correctly.

It's still difficult to believe she's looking at something in realtime and not someone's recording or a computer-generated rendition.

Celty's helmet turns towards the expanse before them, her shoulders lifting and dropping in an unheard sigh. She sweeps a hand towards the floor again, scattering her earlier words to reform new ones.

It really is, Celty thinks. So big and everything so far apart. Somewhere beyond that sea of stars, maybe, is Earth. She begins to raise a hand out towards the window, stopping herself before she lets her hand fall again. Thinking about the distance makes her homesick, and she misses Shinra dearly.

A resigned nod in agreement is all she responds with to Ami's words.

It would be easy to ignore those words, to wallow in self-pity, but Celty knows that the girl's right. She seems to sigh again, but turns her helmet towards Ami with a nod.

The question catches her completely off guard. These are things she hadn't even considered, let alone known to think about. Despite the helmet, it's not difficult to imagine the blank look.

I don't know..? I'm assuming the ship does, or at least the Agrii? I've never flown a space ship so I don't know what it entails, I just know what buttons to push and try to keep the yoke steady...
