Vanquish Mingle [ open to crew ]
WHO: Bruno & Vanquish Crew
WHERE: The Vanquish
WHAT: We be traveling through SPACE!!
WHEN: Event start
WARNINGS: Bruno is a pilot. This is your warning.
1. Your Pilot is having a Normal One
He's trying not to scream.
He's trying not to cry.
He's trying not to hyperventilate and have a heart attack at all the blinking and glowing buttons, the little screens, the bigger screens, the big screen and most importantly the window that shows nothing but darkness, stars and no ground anywhere near them. They have left the planet and FOR SOME REASON Bruno is this ship's pilot.
It has been an accident. He hasn't known this would happen when he accidentally touched that data point and afterwards he has simply forgotten about the incident. But now here he was, put in charge of flying one of these ships that neither have sails nor move over water.
He just wants to curl up in his seat.
...and yet he knows what to do, data point be thanked. Hasn't he had a vision of this a few weeks ago? He had. And as most of his visions, it hadn't made any sense to him. It still doesn't. Even now that he is clinging to this little steering stick that makes the entire ship tip this way or that or suddenly lurch forward or or maybe down? Can he even be sure they aren't flying upside down...?
2. I swear it stopped on its own!
The ship may have stopped, somehow leaving them hanging over a planet without falling down, which isn't reassuring at all, but Bruno's tension hasn't left him at all. He is crouching in front of the box that has his name on it, hands fidgeting with a hat that is at least twice the size of his head and his eyes shift between the weird pile of clothes and the blue crystal hovering in the middle of their gathered little group.
"They... Want us to wear these?"
3. It's a Bumpy Ride, folks!
[[ This is just your small reminder that you can make your of top levels to meet the rest of your crew mates if you feel like doing so. Just rest assured that your pilot has nothing under control <3 ]]

There's something exhilarating and a little relieving to be back in space. The stars are a welcome sight, even in the vastness of them. But the thrill of going somewhere new is also there.

Unlike Omega, Bruno is not someone eager to see new places. Temba already is a new place he has to get used to when he much rather would be going home.

"Deep breaths," she reminds him. "The Agrii wouldn't bring us all the way out here to end up flying into danger." She hopes not, anyway. Leaning towards the viewport, she tries to keep an eye out for those possibilities, but instead sees the face of a planet in the near distance. "-do you see it? Over there!" she says excitedly.
I entirely missed this notif!!
Of course he jerks he yoke around needlessly, tipping the ship sideways sharply. "Wa-wait WHAT? What are we flying into now? Why- how? What do I--?!"
oops!
Omega goes stumbling with the sudden shift of the ship. She grabs onto the pilot's seat, pulling herself upright. "Calm down! Ease up on the control, you don't have to turn it so hard." There's no need for pulling any evasive maneuvers, thankfully!
"I don't think we're supposed to land, but I don't know what we're supposed to do once we get closer."

"We can't stay in this thing!" And more importantly: He can't keep flying it. Or he doesn't want to.
no subject
"Bruno! Focus!" She points out the window again. "We're not going to. The Agrii want us to check out that planet. Let's see what the other ships do."

"You saw the message from the Agrii, didn't you? I can't replay it, I don't have my tablet. But... we're supposed to investigate something on that world there. Find something."
no subject
"Besides, you're already better at controlling this thing than I am. You really should be the one piloting it." She may be young, but Bruno certainly believes what he is saying.

She studies the controls. "I didn't take that data point. Maybe I'll switch if I get the chance. But you took it, didn't you? Can you tell me how to do things?"
no subject
But it's back to the ship itself and Bruno whines. "It was an accident!" He gestures towards one part of the controls. "Coordinate input is here, but we don't need that. Speed and shields to the right, oxygen levels, temperature measurements are over there, looking good, monitor to the left shows a map of the ship, control of lights, doors, gravity underneath along with access to the speaker system. Steering is up front, communications to the other ships, proximity scanner and that one over there allows the shuttle to leave." He pauses his quick rundown to take a breath. "That's- Part of it?"
no subject
"-sorry, I ... That was amazing." And she supposes scary, given they know where the information's come from. It's the same as with medicine, she thinks. Not something she can just rattle off unless a situation comes up and pings something in her memory.
She brightens. "Look, Bruno, you know all the things you have to. I don't think I can remember all that right away." She sets her hands on his arm. "I know it's scary, all this. It's a lot to think about. But you can do this. I know you can, but you have to do believe it too."
no subject
Bruno closes his eyes for a moment, then exhales with a nod and turns his attention back to the controls in front of him. "Alright. If you say I can do this, then- I can do it!"
no subject
"I know you can," she says. She lets her hand slip from his arm, resting on his chair so he can move without any hindrance.
