WHO: Keith, OPEN
WHERE: Out and about Temba
WHAT: Doin' things
WHEN: Early July
WARNINGS: None, yet?
[Keith had kind of been keeping to himself recently. There wasn't a particular reason for it. He'd just been feeling like being a bit of a hermit. Not that Lance seemed to mind since that meant they were spending more time together in their current residence... which was something they were working on changing with some of the exploring he'd been doing. But, still... Sometimes, introverts needed to introvert, and Keith had been in that kind of mood.
Either way, he was doing more things outside again. Checking some of the buildings to see if he could find a good one for him and Lance to use for a home. Poking at the ships in the hangar again, even if they hadn't really been going much of anywhere unless someone wanted to move between the cities without using the train. Keeping up his workout and training with Kosmo.
It wasn't a whole lot, but it kept him busy, and it kept him from backsliding too much...]

And I know they're not connected to the Fleet anymore. That, uh... yeah. We managed to figure that part out before I ended up here with Lance.
[Keith nodded in agreement about the water.] Yeah. That would help a lot so that people could stay over there for longer periods of time.
[Kosmo stayed put for the moment, but then, as BD got closer to his tail, he stopped moving it, flicking his ears back in order to listen to what the droid might be doing.]

He's glad to shift away from the uncomfortable subject. There doesn't seem much that can be done about those augments, in any case.]
It'll take more work than the electricity had. I think there's a lot of parts that need to be replaced, but we'll have to go over all the connections and see what we can do about it. It would probably be better to seal locate the worst of any damages and concentrate on restoring things by section as needed than try to fix an entire city.
[BD-1 looks like he's sneaking, as though the tail's got a life of its own. He cautiously approaches it when it ceases to move, looking down at it as he steps one leg over it, beeping curiously.]

Makes sense... do it in smaller sections. I mean, when you think about it, even if we tackled the whole thing at once, we'd still basically be doing it in smaller sections anyway based on manpower and supplies. But, when you think about it smaller sections, it does help to make it feel a little easier to pull off.
[Kosmo waited, and then flipped his tail with a loud thump on the floor.]

[Cal wouldn't be surprised if whoever had worked on those things was one of those who were no longer with them.
He glances over as BD-1 lets out a surprised squawk, leaping back and bumping into Kosmo's backside. The little droid cranes his boxlike head around to with a beep that almost sounded like a complaint. Cal laughs.]
He's just playing with you, buddy.
no subject
Not off the top of my head. [He frowned a bit.] It was a long time ago. [A couple of years now, at least.] I might be able to find out, though. [There were a few people who'd been here from the start... not many, but a few. If he asked around enough, maybe someone would remember.]
It would probably help to use that engineering data point, though, for anyone who wants to get involved. Unless you already have.
no subject
I've had the engineering point for almost as long as I've been here, now. Made the most sense to me since it was something I was used to. Although working on waterlines is probably a lot different from dismantling starships.
When I decided to work on restoring power in Sh'ka I took a couple of others with engineering data points. It was a big workload for a small group but we managed well enough, so I don't think it'll be a big problem going about it the same way with fixing the water.

Makes sense. Before the hangar opened, I had the medical one, but I'm more just knowledgeable in first-aid. Being a full-on doctor wasn't really my thing.
[Kosmo waited for a few moments after BD-1 put its foot on his tail, and then flicked it again.]
I think they're playing with each other. [Honestly, Keith had a good feeling Kosmo was definitely toying with BD-1.]
no subject
[Unfortunately when injuries happened, they usually weren't minor.]
Heh, looks like. [Cal watches as BD-1 starts again, not quite a full jump back but he still appears surprised despite likely expecting Kosmo's tail to move again.]
no subject
[Keith actually grinned slightly now. Kosmo was definitely being a little shit for BD-1.
The wolf swished his tail this time, swiping it at the little droid.]
Did you want any help with the maintenance? The pilot datapoint gives us a little bit of knowledge, at least, that we can help maintain things with engineers.
no subject
[BD-1 beeps testily but manages to hop over the tail. Oh look, now it's a game of jumprope!
Cal laughs, grinning over at Keith then.]
It'd definitely go quicker with two. I wouldn't mind the help in the least.
no subject
[Kosmo could wag his tail all day, and kept doing it, seemingly amused.]
Alright... where'd you leave off? [Keith came over to where Cal had been working to see what it was he was currently doing.]
no subject
Cal looks at the two, shaking his head despite the grin still on his face. That'll keep them occupied.]
Just right in here. [He steps closer to the open panel again, waving a hand towards the section he'd been working at.] Started at that end, stopped right about here. Making sure couplings are tight and things are greased up where the should be.
no subject
Right. [Keith leaned in to take a look so he could get an idea of where Cal was at.] Well, I could start at the other end, and then we'll meet in the middle?
no subject
Sounds like a plan.
[They'd have things done in no time this way.]
good place to wrap?
looks good to me!
