[Open] Worried Mama Lark
WHO: Lark, Any of her CR that experienced Calibrations
WHERE: Wherever her people can be found
WHAT: Mom's hovering in worry guys
WHEN: June 11th-18th
WARNINGS: There may be motherly behaviors and lectures
A month. More or less a month (definitely less in some cases), where the people she cared about had been out of touch. Again. And when Lark had come back, she'd started to hear horrid things of people having been trapped. It was horrid.
Which is why people were going to have to deal with this now. Without announcement even. There's Lark, showing up at the door. In one hand a light scarf. In the other, a covered container with wafting hints of savory scent.
And the look on her face? It says she's not going to walk away easily. That and the dog that has gone to lay down across the doorway, tail thumping excitedly.
"How are you doing?"

He seems to perk at her explanation of what Tommy does for her and nods. 'That is a good idea. I should make a little sign like that for you. Or maybe show you sometime. The Thedas plants I have are good ones. It's strange. Like the Agrii knew which ones to bring.'
The elf looks to Miss Lark as she explains what she does and how her world works. 'Mages govern? That is like Tevinter.' A frown at the thought before he schools his expression to something more neutral.'But you are not like someone from Tevinter. You are good and nice and make nice garments.'

It had taken some time to figure something out, but she had done her best.
"I would like if if you showed me, Lerith. That we might learn together. I do enjoy learning. One is never too old for that."
LIke where now? She doesn't know the term he is using.
"Mages govern mages. Who else could better understand what is done with magic and create rules and laws for our kind? We must govern, to protect not only mages, but to protect ourselves from non-mages, and non-mages from our own mistakes."
no subject
He nods. Somehow he'd have to make little signs for the greenhouse, and then maybe write down what the herbs were good for. That'd be a nice project when he got back to his room.
'Tevinter Imperium is governed by mages, but they govern everyone in the country, mage and non-mage alike. They are the highest nobility and a seat in the Magisterium as a magister is what everyone wants to be. My owner was a mage, a magister.' Which meant, to Lerith, cruel men like him enacted laws and such against the lesser status people like the elf himself. 'I never saw him really leave the villa for Magisterium work though.'
no subject
He was hostile toward meditation, but she supposed it was not for everyone. But with that out of the way she listens to the program explain Lerith's thoughts, though she suspects that 'tevinter' was probably pronounced wrong.
"It seems wrong to me that mages should govern over non-mages. Though I suppose the Empress is a mage, and does lord some things over her domain. Though she'd be the Empress either way."
no subject
'There are a lot of things wrong in Thedas. Mostly how slaves and non-mages are treated, specifically, in Tevinter.' He gestures to his face briefly, to his hidden neck. 'It isn't perfect, but I have found more freedom after escaping my owner and fleeing to Haven. There are protections there, but the Inquisition is also led by a human mage. It is... nice? The cold is bothersome.'
no subject
"I am sorry that you went through that," she says, her hand reaching out softly to touch his arm. "You are worth so much more as a person just for your own sake. Your freedom should never had been in question."
no subject
He gives her hand a little squeeze. 'Good people like you and the Iron Bull have been teaching me. Cal, Jon, Echo, so many different people.'
no subject
There is nothing wrong with that either. This place could be a blessing along with the curse and burden it semeed to be at times.

'Now that the dream thing is over, I can go back to watching Little Bear for you as well.' With his food finished, the elf wipes the crumbs off by using his pants before looking around. Lerith knew he had things to do, like practice controlling his magic when he wants to use it, and go help Tommy out at the diner. It wouldn't do good to procrastinate.
'I should head to the diner to help Tommy. I promised I would help out at the diner for him.' A man good with his hands was good at chopping up ingredients and washing dishes!
no subject
"I will appreciate that. I've brought back things for making dyes and that will take some time and work, and the place I work on that is not suited to him."
The dog could end up getting dyed. And there are the Silkspiders around in a nearby warehouse. She'd rather he be safe.
"Indeed, it is good to keep up with a promise. Just remember, whenever you are there, if he's to be there, make sure you don't have Little Bear with you. The poor dear seems unnerved by him."
no subject
'I will try to keep my plans organized so I don't agree to help Tommy at the same time I'm watching Little Bear, Miss Lark.' He gives one more good head-scratch to the hound, then cleans up his portion of the picnic and straightens his scarf. 'Please let me know if you need any help with things, okay?'
no subject
Still, his offering of help is intriguing.
"Do you really wish to learn how to dye fabric and thread?"
no subject
'I can try and if I am terrible at it, you can shoo me away!"
no subject
no subject
'Message me when you are going to do dyes then. And I will try to come.'

With one more nod, the elf gestures to Little Bear for him to follow before heading off, rubbing a hand atop of the hound's head with a grin.
thanks for the thread!
