Aaaaa
WHO: Catra, OTA
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: fixing roof, being attacked by birds
WHEN: End of month
WARNINGS: Catra
Handy Cat
Climbing up onto the roof of the factory wasn't a problem, but getting the material up was the difficult part. Catra struggled and cursed her way through it, evidence of her failures littering the ground, but in the end she'd managed. Now that everything was there though, she wasn't entirely sure how to go about finally patching the hole Tony had left in the roof.
She lay a few planks crisscrossed over the opening, and began trying to hammer them into place, loud bangs echoing through the factory area, if her cursing and struggles hadn't all ready alerted those near by.
Giant Ass Bird
While playing with the strange lobster things at the beach, Catra had gotten into a confrontation with the birds that preyed on them. She'd driven them off, pleased with herself, when suddenly she found herself under attack again. Only this one was larger than the rest. Not quite large enough to carry her away, but enough that it was able to carry her a few feet at a time.
A flurry of feathers streaked by, Catra shrieking, tail poofed in alarm as she tried to escape the persistent bird, who was surprisingly adept at dodging her attacks.
"Get it off! Kill it!"

omg get off the roof
Apparently Tembra didn't have HOAs.
Heading out of his factory, York noted the ladder and the banging coming from the roof of the neighboring one. Instead of calling up for permission, he just... went. Went right up.
As soon as he was up, York looked over what she was doing before crossing his arms. "Wood is probably not going to be great for this, especially if it rains."
no
"No one asked you," she muttered in return.
fuck
He pushes one of the planks with a foot. "Unless you plan on sealing this to make it water resistant."
no subject
"Who the hell are you, anyways?"
no subject
He finally crouched down by her material. "I know there's probably stuff in my factory that could cover this, but getting it secured would be the difficult part. I don't have the tools or the screws, but I might be able to find the latter in my place somewhere."
no subject
"Tony has tools. In the forge." She gestured towards his place, and while she normal made herself at home there, she hadn't stolen much from him for this, just something to hammer with. That may or may not have been a hammer.
no subject
"We, or maybe you, could use the planks as a temporary fix. I won't go to Tony's for the shit that's needed, but I can get stuff from my factory that would probably help so there's less to get from him." York tried to think about the rubble and wreckage he might be able to salvage. Maybe if he could get enough, he could offer repairs to other residences in the city. "I know of some panels I could take off and bring up here."
no subject
"...why would you do that?" she asked in a defensive, almost accusatory way, eying him suspiciously. She hadn't exactly been friendly, why would he help her?
no subject
York scowled in response to her defensive accusations. "I literally fucking said this sort of shit was what I was made to do. And I'm also your neighbor so hearing you bang around out here futilely is not HOA approved." He got up and started heading back towards the ladder.
"I guess you've got this under control though, have at it, pussycat."
no subject
"...I didn't say no," she snapped after him, crossing her arms.
no subject
"I don't know, your tone made it sound like you didn't want my help so now I'm wondering if you do." Despite that, the android started back towards her. Crouched down with enough space between them so she couldn't grab him too quick. "I wasn't kidding when I said I am literally built to do work like this."
no subject
"What, like a robot?" The ones she's seen in her life time didn't look anything like a human, so the idea was strange to her.
no subject
He looked over the supplies she had been working at before he interrupted her. "I've designed and built houses and a skyscraper. This is all different from that, but the basics are the same.

Birb!
The shouts prompted her to move faster, her boots sinking slightly into the sand as she pushed into a jog, but she saw Catra and the apparent threat. "I'm coming!" she shouted, pulling her bow from behind her. The violet energy crackled to life as the weapon sprung open, and she pulled back and took aim, firing just past the bird to try scaring it off.

Again she took aim, sending an energy arrow at the bird, hoping not to hurt it too much even as she did so, preparing herself to have to kill it if it came down to it.

Still panting, Catra looked quite pleased with herself, half forgetting she'd had any help at all.
"Did you see the size of that thing???"
no subject
"It was huge," she agreed, cracking a faint smile. "Are you all right?" Come to think of it, she'd seen this person before, hadn't she? Except she'd acted a lot different before.
no subject
"I'm fine." A few bruises, some scratches, nothing too major.
no subject
She slung her bow behind her once again, stepping closer to Catra to give a quick once over, but she was glad nothing looked too bad.
no subject
"Do you think you could hit it with that thing?"
no subject
"That thing looked like it was trying to eat you," she pointed out. "I could probably hit it if I had to though."
no subject
She reached for the girl's hand to try and race after the direction the bird had gone.
