[Event] The Day The Network Stood Still

The Day The Network Stood Still
The datapoints are a great equalizer, bringing all who come to them the same level of knowledge with the systems they are associated with. Or that's how they're theoretically supposed to work. Truth of the matter is that coming in with some level of competence and understanding can go quite far, and being completely oblivious can have its own repercussions.
Especially when one learns something is theoretically possible and wishes to understand the how of it. Usually such explorations of an apprentice in a skill tended to be better guided by a master to avoid disasters. Well, perhaps disaster is too big of a word to cover what happens from the exploration of the communications systems by Dedicate Initiate Lark.
All it take is looking into a hidden directory here, accidentally deleting some data there, a frantic bit of trying to fix the system from memory, and a true lack of knowledge of Ctrl+Z as a lifesaver. And just like that the communication system's user database was horribly tangled, posting was down, and poor Lark was none the wiser of the chaos she had inflicted.
And so it happened that there came a Day The Network Stood Still.
Well not fully still, but it's sure being difficult. The posting process for public messages is glitching out, video and audio and even text posts bouncing back with a 'System Error: Please Try Again Later' message. Over, and over, and over for hours. Good news? The direct message function still works properly right? Right?
Wrong. Any message sent directly to another He Row will find itself caught up in the error and delivered. But never to the right person. The good news is that once a conversation chain starts, at least the system is sending back and forth reliably. People will just have to live with their mis-sent texts getting out there to other people. Who knows, maybe it will be good for some laughs.
When does this event take place?
Can my character make a public post during this event?
So what do we do?
My character doesn't send a lot of private messages. How would I get them involved in this?
I'm still not sure I understand the format of this. Any examples?
Wait, so I can use this for AC?
What about content warnings/other possibly triggering stuff?
Can we see who the misfired text is from?
Can senders see that messages didn't get to their intended recipient?
Can I just play this out in my inbox?
Does my character have to keep interacting after they figure out it's the wrong person?
I don't know who to send something to. Help?

look for the one with the humans vs androids
it's that one
it's shit
maybe it's earth 666
three years?
man the agrii really don't let anyone go home do they
shit stains the lot of them
no subject
So...androids v humans sounds more like a Ultron kind of place.
Well, lots of people have come and gone. I just wasn't one of them.
no subject
that was a guess
didn't know it actually existed
what's an ultron?
i wish agrii would send me back
there's a revolution and i'll do more help there than here
well
i need to see if anyone in our home survive back in detroit
no subject
If it helps, when people go home, they slide right back in when/where they left. Whatever's waiting for you will still be there.
no subject
phew no bingo
not interested in the world
but wouldn't mind the humans going out of style in my world
wait what
your grandfather?
ngl that's weird
that's both a relief and terrible to know
so maybe thank you
i guess i'll find out if agrii ever let me off the hook
no subject
I know, I'm sorry. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.
no subject
i just have two brothers
mom and dad
super fucking basic i guess
i uh
i'll keep in touch i guess?
idk what i need yet in this town
if that makes any sense
no subject
It makes sense.
Let me know.
Even if you just need a tour or something, I'm around.
no subject
everything else the public doesn't see
really isn't
but that's probably a story for another day
what i really need are parts
things like valves tubes lines
stuff i can repair
delicate machines
with that i'd use in my world
no subject
Otherwise, you could take your chances and ask the Agrii? They have a supply box where they'll sometime give you what you ask for, but it's kind of a crap shoot. They don't understand English super well.
no subject
i dont think the replicator is gonna help
biocomponents
though maybe…
yeah i’ll see what the supply box comes up with
maybe whatever they send i can work with
don't want to be in a life or death predicament and have the latter happen
what language does the agrii speak?
doubt i'll have it but worth a shot
no subject
I don't actually know. Now I feel bad. I guess we should've asked them? Maybe someone with a comms data point knows better...?
no subject
there's no magic in my world
i might be willing to try it out
i guess
just don't use it on me maybe?
is there a way to contact them?
i don't mind asking
[Underlying meaning being that York wouldn't mind being aggressive to try and get answers from their 'hosts'.]

I'll add you to the list. :)
The pink button, that looks like a really weird three eyed smiley face. It'll connect you to them through the network.
no subject
i could meet you just about wherever
no subject
no subject
gonna avoid hospitals
unless we meet outside
but i'm not going in
no subject
You don't have to go inside.
We can meet somewhere if you'd be more comfortable.
no subject
'comfortable'
just
just not the hospital
or the library
