[Event] The Day The Network Stood Still

The Day The Network Stood Still
The datapoints are a great equalizer, bringing all who come to them the same level of knowledge with the systems they are associated with. Or that's how they're theoretically supposed to work. Truth of the matter is that coming in with some level of competence and understanding can go quite far, and being completely oblivious can have its own repercussions.
Especially when one learns something is theoretically possible and wishes to understand the how of it. Usually such explorations of an apprentice in a skill tended to be better guided by a master to avoid disasters. Well, perhaps disaster is too big of a word to cover what happens from the exploration of the communications systems by Dedicate Initiate Lark.
All it take is looking into a hidden directory here, accidentally deleting some data there, a frantic bit of trying to fix the system from memory, and a true lack of knowledge of Ctrl+Z as a lifesaver. And just like that the communication system's user database was horribly tangled, posting was down, and poor Lark was none the wiser of the chaos she had inflicted.
And so it happened that there came a Day The Network Stood Still.
Well not fully still, but it's sure being difficult. The posting process for public messages is glitching out, video and audio and even text posts bouncing back with a 'System Error: Please Try Again Later' message. Over, and over, and over for hours. Good news? The direct message function still works properly right? Right?
Wrong. Any message sent directly to another He Row will find itself caught up in the error and delivered. But never to the right person. The good news is that once a conversation chain starts, at least the system is sending back and forth reliably. People will just have to live with their mis-sent texts getting out there to other people. Who knows, maybe it will be good for some laughs.
When does this event take place?
Can my character make a public post during this event?
So what do we do?
My character doesn't send a lot of private messages. How would I get them involved in this?
I'm still not sure I understand the format of this. Any examples?
Wait, so I can use this for AC?
What about content warnings/other possibly triggering stuff?
Can we see who the misfired text is from?
Can senders see that messages didn't get to their intended recipient?
Can I just play this out in my inbox?
Does my character have to keep interacting after they figure out it's the wrong person?
I don't know who to send something to. Help?

oh
idk if that's a disappointment or relief for you
i have some knowledge
enough to put things back together
it's handy
when you're an android yourself
wait are you an android
no subject
Been called that a few times, but no. Not yet anyways. Just the arm.
You got a name?
no subject
chest sections can
but that depends on a model tbh
yeah
[There's a long pause before another message comes through.]
i suppose you wanna know
since you're asking
it's york stark
what about you not-a-full-android with a metal arm
sharing is caring
no subject
Would be why I asked. Yeah.
Bucky.
no subject
it's called humor
does no one have that here
are all of you like reeve
i'm so sorry
that must suck
so what's the arm made of?
i'm all curious now, bucky
i've never met someone with only pieces of android
where i'm from you're either human or android
no inbetween
what if i promise not to damage it
just to look
no tools, no touch
no subject
Vibranium. Mostly. Not your typical stuff.
No prosthetics where you're from, huh?
You'd have trouble damaging it even if you wanted.
I guess you can have a look.
No tooling around.
no subject
wit/sarcasm/humor is difficult to detect over text
vibranium?
never heard of it
sounds heavy
hm
can't be if it's an arm
i don't know any humans
save for two so not sure
if prosthetics are an actual thing
i wouldn't intentionally damage
or tool around without consent
that's fucking rude to do
honestly i just want to see what the problem is
see if i can fix it
tell you if i can or can't
and if i can't
i'm not going to try
because that could fuck something else up
make it worse
i'm an asshole but i'm not a body crippling asshole

We can bring your human count up to three. If you decide I count.
no subject
i was actually trying to keep that number low
if you're more human than droid then you're human
set up a date and place that's not mine
and i'll show up relatively on time
no subject
You're stuck meeting at least one then, if you want to see this arm.
I'll be in the diner tomorrow morning. Swing by if you're interested.
no subject
fine
consider me there
