I like the sushi
WHO: Noctis and you!
WHERE: The water
WHAT: Fishing
WHEN: Post event. Noct is trying to work some stuff out in his mind, & fishing is where it's at, so come join him.
WARNINGS: None?
Noctis felt like his mind was wrecked. He'd never seen a moon scream before and the visions of his father and Luna just messed with him. Of course it was hard for him to separate the moon and Luna, and it felt like there was so much more going on than he understood.
Of course he thought he'd left things like that behind. But come to find out that wasn't the case at all. This was a new world complete with a new set of rules and new things to learn to go along with all of that.
So he slid outside of his living space and packed a few things. He still had his old fishing pole in his armiger which he kept for Gladio. But he decided to go out alone today, unaccompanied by his shield. Maybe Noct would get in trouble for that later, but that was later on. There were so many questions in his mind that didn't have answers and figured a day of fishing might do the trick to let those answers come to him.

Especially after the storm. Especially after how close he'd come to fucking things up for a LOT of people.
So seeing Noctis out and about? Oh yeah, attention.
"Noctipus," he said as he came up behind the guy.
no subject
"Hey." the king replied amicably with a nod of his head and an almost immediate smile. "What brings you out this way?"
no subject
Distraction, thy name is Noctipus.
no subject
"Come to watch me fish or just to fish with me?"
And either was cool with him.

And he started reeling in his line to see if he could entice some fish to come bite.

Reeling his line in, he paused a minute to get the reel ready to cast out again as he briefly glanced over at Tommy with a small smile. "I'm good like that."
Those words made him turn away, recalling he'd said those same words to Ignis after getting up at the dreadful dawn hour to make breakfast for everyone and he threw his line out.
no subject
"Are you? Seems like you're already super quiet. Weird if you ask me."

He didn't have a weapon, but he was resourceful. If he needed one, he could grab a rock if he needed to, but he was curious about the environment. When he found the water, he noticed he wasn't alone, either.
Biggs had never left Midgar his entire life, and he'd never been near the water in that other place he'd ended up, either. He knew what fishing was but he'd never actually had the occasion.
"So, uh, is the fishing good?" It was an odd introduction, but it was better than nothing.
no subject
Looking up when he heard a somewhat familiar voice, it took the king a moment to place it.
Biggs.
It wasn't the man he knew or rather, had met. That one travelled with Wedge and Aranea, who the guys referred to as 'Lady A'. It was so cute to see how much they respected the dragoon who was formidable in battle both as an adversary and as an ally.
Noct nodded with a smile. "So far I haven't caught anything but I just got started." He reeled in just a tiny bit more of the slack on the line and looked over at the other man. "You do any fishing back home?"
no subject
"And before you ask, I've never even seen an actual fishing pole." He smiled, self-deprecating, as he motioned toward Noct's tool. "Well, I guess I have now." After a moment, he shook his head, chuckling. "That sounds more pathetic than it is, I promise."
no subject
Wow. It was still weird being here sometimes, hearing about things he took for granted in his world that others didn't get a chance to deal with. But still, he found himself chuckling along with the other man.
"Does that mean you're looking to learn how to fish then?"
no subject
He did smile, though, at the question, shrugging. "I'm always open to learning new skills, and this one sounds like it's good for not going hungry, too."
no subject
Of course he wouldn't say as much unless it got brought up.
With a nod, he stretched his arm out and a fishing pole appeared his hand. He held it out to Biggs. "Not going hungry is a great thing."
no subject
"Does that happen a lot here, the risk of going hungry?" That was something to keep in mind, if so.
no subject
Fortunately he could hunt and fish, though fortunately other folks did the dressing of the meat. Thanks to Kyle he could clean his catches but meat would have him at a loss.
Looking up at Biggs now, the king shrugged. "As long as you know how to hunt or fish or know what plants are edible you'll get by. Barring that you could find someone who knows how to do those things too."

Water sloshes around his thin legs as he bends over to look for some plants hiding just under the surface. That one looked promising. Carefully, the elf wiggled fingers into the wet dirt until he could pull the roots free and bring it into the air. Hm, looked like regular water grass.
It was easy to do this, to keep his mind off of the fact that the moon was screaming a few days ago. That couldn't be something normal.

Dark blue eyes kept looking over at the other in curiosity though, wondering what the guy was doing. He didn't seem to be in trouble or be in any sort of distress. Still, the king's gaze returned to the elf more than a few times.
He wasn't sure whether he should say something or not, but he kept an eye on the guy as he reeled the line in and nodded at him acknowledgement when the man turned to look at him.

It was when he plucked up some sort of weird looking plant did he finally notice the other fishing. He froze, like a halla caught in torchlight as he waited. What was the other doing? Wait, a line, a stick... fishing. He was fishing, and here Lerith was, disturbing the water!
Gingerly, the elf moved out of the water and back onto dry land. [Sorry! he motioned, then headed over carefully. The strange looking plant was held out, followed by the device after a long minute of typing one handed.
'i saw some nibblig at this when i got here i think. maybe use for fishng?'
no subject
Sure Gladio and Bull were meat hunters and Noct joined them too, but when it came to fishing, well there wasn't anyone else he knew that could do it, so it was all on him. And this was totally and completely fine with him honestly.
Hearing the elf move, the king turned his attention to the man and nodded with a smile at the apology. "It's alright." he said. But then his device went off and he reached for it with his free hand after taking it off of the reel.
He was surprised to see the text, but then looked at the elf with the strange plant. So he set the pole down in a secure place and slowly approached the other. "I'm not sure what this is, but it couldn't hurt if you saw them nibbling at it."
no subject
Another quick text. 'sorry i can't speak can only communicate this way. i odn't know what it is either, but helpful maybe. i am trying to study plants here. maybe find what is useful'
no subject
"No worries. But even since I've taken agriculture here I'm not familiar with it." That had him smile at his companion. "It's alright though. I'll try it and they'll either bite it or not. Guess that means I'm going to find out either way."
no subject
'you mean datapoint like by the fountain?' he texted quickly. 'i think maybe i shold touch that one, see if it hepls with knowing plants here like i wa learning in thedas' Especially if it was going to be useful helping in the medical area with Billy and Omega. His plants from Thedas would be a good start, but why stop there?
no subject
He wasn't sure where Thedas was, but just assumed it was the elf's home world, somewhere there. "But ya, if you take it up let me know." Because it would be much more fun to learn with someone than learning to do this whole thing alone.
