[open] Tryna find a shelter from the weather

WHO: Rey
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: Storm shenanigans
WHEN: during the Storm
WARNINGS:

The beginning - a fog rolls in and a jedi loses her way;

Rey hasn't been through a storm before. She'd heard about them from a few people, thankfully, so when suddenly she felt as if everything was muffled she had an inkling of what had happened. She had only awakened to the Force almost two years ago, but this stark absence of anything beyond the sounds of the space port and her own breathing made her acutely aware that the Force really had always been there, wrapped around her like a gossamer blanket.

She felt strangely exposed, so while often when she steps out of the Starduck to head into town she goes with only her saber clipped to her belt she now takes the time to grab the new staff she'd fashioned out of local scrap. She fought with her staff for years of her life, she felt safe with it slung over her shoulder.

The fog doesn't help her feeling of unease as she heads towards town, looking for others, seeking life in the bleak nothingness of the oppressive weather. She spots movement ahead and quickens her pace, but as the shape begins to solidify her feet come to an abrupt halt.

She knows that broad back, strong frame, curly black hair. She feels like she can't breathe and it has nothing to do with the fog or the absence of the Force.

"Ben?" She barely whispers his name, before she takes off running. "BEN!" She screams his name, hoping he'll hear her, that he'll turn. She hates the emptiness between them, where there never had been before. He doesn't seem to hear her, he picks up pace ahead of her. She pushes herself to move faster, calling out to him again.

Again he doesn't hear her, turning a corner that she takes as a sprint when she hits it. She just catches him walking into a building that she knows is unsafe, that she'd been in just a week before looking for salvage and almost been squished.

"BEN, WAIT!" she tries to warn him, hesitating only a moment outside the doorway before she forges ahead.

The middle - unearthly screams create a storm all their own;

The moon looked angry, unlike Rey has ever seen it before. She didn't know moons could look like that, and that was unsettling enough. Then, it screamed.

Then it was like everything had come to life all at once as her powers came rushing back to her. She barely had the chance to be happy about it when suddenly it was too much. It was like she could hear the thoughts of every person on the planet, feel every creature down to the smallest bugs, the sensory overload was enough to bring her to her knees in the middle of the street. As she doubled over, closing her eyes as she shielded the back of her head with her hands as if that would stop the onslaught Force lightning, angry and blue crackled around her, different from the thunder and lightning caused by the storm.

"No!" she cried, to no one in particular, trying to pull it all in, to reign in her senses but the Force entirely unwilling to listen.

the end - she's relentless but bruised;

He was a stillness in the chaos, a stone pillar amidst raging winds. His thoughts were a repeated phrase: Do not listen, do not give in. He had witnessed what the cry of the monstrous moon was capable of, a half-disintegrated building at the city's edge testament to what happened when his powers of the Void went haywire. He did not wish to be near anyone if it happened again, entrusting his Ghost to guide him. In time they came to realize the pattern to the horrors, as well as how to stave off its effects.

The spatter of wild lightning surprised Felwinter, and he wondered that the woman at its center was wielding Arclight. He hesitated but a moment, then started towards her. His Ghost Felspring fidgeted. "What are you doing?" she not quite hissed, watching the warlord anxiously, even though she had a feeling she knew what.
