WHO: Bruno & You~
WHERE: Around Temba
WHAT: Something with storms and a screaming moon
WHEN: During the storm
WARNINGS: %
a Chasing Dreams
The fog that settled into the city is thicker than any fog Bruno has ever seen or walked through. Fog usually only settles in the early morning hours in the Encanto, which are also some of the few times Bruno dares to leave the house. But that fog has never been anything like this fog. This fog? Is frightening. As is the thunder that cuts through the silence every once in a while.
Bruno regrets having stepped outside. He already feels lost in this large place. But then he spots something - Or someone familiar.
"J-Julieta?" Bruno exclaims in surprise at spotting his sister walking down the street not too far from him, yet not paying attention to him at all. So of course Bruno starts after her, calling out to her again. "Wha- Wait! Julieta!"
And off he goes, straight into the remains of a tall building.
b IT'S A GLITTER STORM!
Bruno hasn't necessarily noticed his powers not working. It's not like he has been actively using them in years and not having to fend off any accidental visions for an entire day now has been great! No headaches and he even got a nap in. If he ignores the fog and lightning outside, things are very much fine.
He will just make sure to grab some food and return to his room and ignore that leering gaze from the moon above that certainly isn't falling down or anything.
It only... Screams?
Bruno flinches at the sudden noise and looks up in bewilderment which only lasts a split second before he finds himself trapped in a hurricane of red and pink and purple. Visions that have spared him all day going wild before his inner eye, but also in the green glowing displays before him. They try to be their usual color at least, but with the vibrant glitter mixing into them it gets a little muddled. The same goes for the displays of his visions, which are more displays of abstract forms than actual peeks into the future.
And all the while, Bruno is helplessly flailing his hands at them or pressing his knuckles into his skull, desperately trying to force these visions to stop. "No! No no no no no! Stop it! Stop! You have to stop!!"

The first he sees is a glowing face glowing through the fog. That glowing face turns out to belong to a monster made of metal and that monster is currently rushing straight at him.
"Wai- wha-- NO!" He gets out hastily and turns to run away from the creature, screaming in a positively terrified way. "Help! Someone- HELP ME!!"
no subject
"What!? No way, I am very pleasant to look at, just as To- know what, don't ask Tony." He pauses, tapping his foot. "Know what, glowing eyes in a dark empty building- yeah, I can see how that can come off as scary- HEY DUDE, stop running, it's dangerous in here!!"
no subject
"It'll move past. It'll move past. Just stay calm and quiet and it'll move past." Bruno mutters to himself because that will clearly help.
no subject
They continue on then, although in truth Cayde doesn't go far, simply stepping to the side of Bruno's hiding place before crouching beside it. "So um. How long we planning to stay in there?"
no subject
Just that it doesn't. And when it suddenly is RIGHT NEXT TO HIM, and TALKING to him, Bruno lets out the breath he has been holding in a high-pitched shriek, trying to back further into his corner when he actually sees the unnatural face with its burning features. "Please! Don't eat me! I taste horrible! Please don't eat me!!"
no subject
"Anyway, I am not going to eat you. Frankly, I might agree that you probably taste horrible but I am not a cannibal!"
no subject
Bruno dares to point a single finger at Cayde. "But- You look like it!"
no subject
He stands up to give the guy some space. "Get out of there. This is not a great place to go running around in the dark. You even know what floor you're on?"
no subject
He still blinks a few times before daring to step out of his little corner. Slowly. Carefully. VERY carefully. And certainly very ready to leap right back in. Though for the most part Bruno remains bewildered.
"Ramen? What's tha- A bar? Uh- N-no. I don't think so? Why. What floor? Is that-" He tries to answer all questions at once, but naturally that only leads to some very much palpable confusion.
no subject
"Heh, you did some climbing. That way's all kinda collapsed in, and in here's no better. This place is kind of up against a slope and you took a shortcut." He starts walking away a few steps before coming to a stop, gesturing. "Good thing you didn't go any farther, 'cuz it's a loooong way down."
no subject
"But going back the way we came, that- That's an option, yes?" Just an assumption.
no subject
"Probably, maybe. Well, provided more of the floor doesn't cave in. Honestly I'm surprised you managed to get past that one place without going straight through." He waves his Ghost over, another eerie blue light floating in the darkness before she's close enough to make out. Sundance obliges to his unspoken request, switching to a more directional light, beaming it along the floor and their surroundings to give Bruno a better look at just how treacherous the rest of the building is.
And not a bucket of spackle to fortify it with.
no subject
He watches the hovering thing for a moment, undecided whether to scream or if it's another kettle-friend. Then Sundance shines some light across their surrounding, effectively redirecting Bruno's attention, who takes a look around first, then gives a professional nod at his conclusion. "Yepp. This place sure needs some patching up."
Though less than a moment later, something else returns to Bruno's attention. "Wait! Where did Julieta go? She was here!"
no subject
"I hate to break it to you, but I don't think she's here. Although all things considered, that is probably for the best," he notes as he looks around again. "You get the rundown on storms yet?"
no subject
He exhales noisily and both his hands drop down in front of him, fidgeting themselves into a tangle of fingers. "Storms are bad, yes. But- This doesn't seem stormy. Didn't think the storms here came without wind. Or rain. Or thunder. Or-" In his defense, most storms Bruno as experienced before were caused by his sister having a bad day.
no subject
"Come on, let's get out of here," he says.
no subject
"Sure. Out of here sounds... Good?" Bruno answers, at least somewhat cautiously. "I'll just go back to my room."
no subject
He nods after his Ghost. "Follow Sundance- watch your step though. I'll be right behind you."

"Okay Bruno. Where are you staying? We'll make sure you get there in one piece. I don't like how quiet this storm's been, but so long as you know it is one, that should keep you from chasing after ghosts. Well, ghosts of people who might not be here anyway."
no subject
He doesn't need this. He doesn't need to get ridiculed by a scary person that nearly gave him a heart attack. He has had plenty of that back home especially when people thought he wouldn't notice.
He can find his own way. So when he notices a small gap in one of the walls, Bruno wordlessly slips away.
no subject
"Huh?" Cayde follows her look as well, blinking. "Wait, where'd he go? Bruno! -he didn't fall somewhere, did he? We'd have heard that..." At least there aren't any fresh signs that the floor's given way. He frowns, looking back at Sundance.
"Was it something I said?"
