Peter has a rough time.
WHO: Peter Parker & you c:
WHERE: Around Temba.
WHAT: Peter experiencing his first storm. He hates it.
WHEN: March 11th - 15th
WARNINGS: Probably something, upset spider-children and also probably a deceased family member.
[ Dawn of the First Day but not really dawn because Peter's teenager - At "home" ]
Peter's senses had been going off all day since the time he'd woken up late into the afternoon. Curiously though, as the day stretched on the buzzing from his internal warning system got weaker and weaker. Things start seeming quieter and and balance feels.. off. It's been a while since Peter's felt off like this so he thinks the dulled senses are just a sign he's getting a little sick.
He opts to roll out of bed and leaves his makeshift room in search of fluids so he can fight off what he thinks is an oncoming cold. It's then that he notices the weird fog and the eerie stillness of everything around him. He doesn't need his spidey-sense to tell him that something doesn't feel right. And speaking of, he notices that it's not going off and this really feels like a time it should be.
Panic seeps in and he goes to try and lift something simple-something that he shouldn't have any difficulty picking up but he can't lift if and then panic really seeps in. What's happened to his powers? He remembers something being mentioned about sometimes they don't work but he didn't think it'd happen like this!
He feels a little dizzy as the panic gets worse and the only thing he can think to do is find an adult.
"Mr Beck! Something's wrong, my powers aren't working!" Hopefully Beck won't be too upset when he has a spider-kid bursting in on him.
[ Night of the First Day - Outside The Library ]
Okay, so his powers are gone. Great. Excellent. This okay. He is okay. He can handle this. He owes Tony Stark a huge apology this is probably his fault for being a mouthy little brat. He sucks in a deep breath and a reaches to pull the door to the Library open. He was told to come here if he needed anything and right now he needs a lot. Namely his powers back.
And then the moon shrieks. The Moon that's incredibly close and he doesn't even want to think about what that's doing to the tide, shrieks. Maybe if he'd had his powers he'd have known it was coming but as it is, he doesn't and it startles him nearly out of his skin.
"Okay! I'm sorry I didn't believe the moon made noise!" He yells out to... the moon? This day sucks. And suddenly his powers are back. He can hear everything and senses explode and...
...And his hand is stuck to the door handle and he can't seem to let go.
[ The 15th, evening time - Walking home ]
That last several days have been awful to say the least. By day he doesn't have his powers and by night he gets them back when the moon screams at him but he can't control them and he keeps getting stuck to things and breaking things. And how many times as he had say sorry in the just the past twenty four hours? So much for a secret identity.
He shoves his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt and starts to make his way home, maybe he can't sleep through the shrieking moon but he doubts it because the moment it screams again he'll get his enhanced hearing back at a level he has no control over it. He really needs to learn not to mouth off at people it never ends well.
He lets out an exasperated sigh and glances up, squinting in the fog. He can barely make out a figure in the distance. His heart feels like it's stopped beating for a full second and he steps towards the figure. It's just a silhouette but he'd know that silhouette anywhere. Maybe, if he'd had his powers they'd be warning him of danger but as it is, he doesn't suspect anything is wrong beyond the obvious.
"...Uncle Ben?" He questions, his voice shaking a little as he tries to get closer. The person just moves further away and before Peter really registers what he's doing, he's following him right to the edge of town.

He lets out a startled yelp when eye opens and tries to jerk back. His hand is still very stuck to the door handle though and there’s a loud crack! and he registers the door is still stuck to his hand just.. no longer on its hinge.
…
Haha. Whoops.
“Ohmygod I’m so sorry! I didn’t-I just-and then it wouldn’t-and then you…did that and I’m so sorry!” He finds himself apologizing profusely to the eye.

From inside the library, Peter may pick up a muttered swear, the words distorted and crackling as if spoken through heavy static. Jon may be aware of his presence, though the harsh words weren't meant for him. Not with Jon struggling with reality itself randomly shifting around him, leaving him even more disoriented than just having his head filled with too many information at once.
Which at least means he won't be overly mad about a broken door.

… not without the right tools.
He winced when he hears curse and opens his mouth again.
“I really am sorry! The moon did the thing and then I could let go-I still can’t let go and then you startled me and I’m not saying it’s your fault just that I- I mean I can probably fix it?”
no subject
"I saw what happened." He presses through grit teeth, not even bothering to look at the door. "And... I can't control it. Not... Right now."
no subject
"R-Right. With the-" It's probably rude to point out more than the usual number of eyes so he just lets the statement die on his lips.
"Um.. I'm Peter.. To-um-Mr Stark told me to come here if-if I ever needed-I can go, it's not a big deal. I'm really sorry about the door."
no subject
At least with his powers gone again, the library shifts back to normal and any extra eyes simply close and vanish, leaving Jon with only his own to regard his young visitor. He sighs. "Right. Of course you know Tony."
no subject
There's a loud thud! when the door crashes down. Peter lets go and is quick to hop up. This has turned into a terrible nightmare.
"I-I didn't... mean to... do that." He says awkwardly, considering just turning to go. "Um... you know what, Mr Stark's not here and I just keep breaking stuff so I'll just.. go..." He gestures in the direction he'd come from with his thumbs and taking a step backwards.
no subject
He gestures for Peter to enter the building with a small shrug. "Besides, you only broke a door. I keep breaking reality." Which might be a lot harder to fix if those effects were more lasting in nature.
no subject
"...Yeah, okay." He wants to assure the man that he's okay, he doesn't need much protection but without his powers that-well that might not be true. He's especially glad May's not here to see this because she'd have a fit. "..Um, thanks." He finally moves to go inside rather than hover awkwardly outside.
"...so, where is Mr Stark anyway?"
no subject
Much to Jon's disapproval, of course.
"He will show up eventually. But until then, maybe I can help you."
no subject
"Um.. I just.. felt off since I don't- well I didn't- well they're gone again. But it's really disorienting that I suddenly don't have my powers and I just... I-I don't know... having a rough time I guess."

He leads Peter to the back of the library, past the empty shelves and through a set of doors that lead into a room that appears to serve as office as well as living area, with various tables, workplaces, miss matched chairs and shelves that actually contain stuff set up within. Jon indicates for Peter to find himself a place to sit. "These are the energy storms that are deadly to the Agrii - And the main issue we are here to solve. And as you are experiencing yourself, they give us certain issues as well."
no subject
His attention snaps to Jon at the mention of the Agrii though as he tries to wrack his own mind for something he can offer that might help. Unfortunately nothing comes to mind.
"It's not that I'd say no to helping anyone." Not since... well, he's learned his lesson to say the very least. "But what do they think we can do about it? Can we do anything about it?"
no subject
He looks around searchingly for a few moments, then at Peter. No, he doesn't have an answer. He can hardly remember the question. "I, uh... I'm sorry. But I..." It's gone. Everything Jon used to know has slipped away along with his connection to the Eye. Yes, some coherence has lingered behind, but that has pretty much left Jon by now as well.
no subject
"...D-did you lose your train of thought?" He prompted. It certainly seemed that way. If he squinted then maybe could see it in the distance?
no subject
"It's the storm." He finally manages, looking unhappy with his own words. "It- Cuts me off. Muddles thoughts. The Eye..."
no subject
Why did this man want Peter to hang out here again? Peter's pretty sure no one should want to be around him. ..."So, you live in the library. That seems cool."
no subject
Though he takes the comment on living in the library gladly enough and nods. "It's nice. No books, unfortunately. But space. Tony helped me clear it. Sometimes he sticks around. I... Enjoy his presence."
no subject
"Yeah, some books would be nice." Peter nodded in agreement. "And Tony seems cool-I mean I know a different version of him and he is-he's awesome but I haven't actually met this one face to face so that's a little weird but he seems nice."
no subject
"He is setting up a space of his own here as well. So we can be closer." That's an easy thought to keep in mind. And one that doesn't require much thinking. Maybe because it's something that makes Jon genuinely happy.
no subject
"Oh, sorry. You probably don't care about that. It's cool that he's moving in with you though. Congrats?"
no subject
He likes his Tony better. That one is an easy thought. But...
"A ferry? But- Why?"
no subject
"So I went and crashed the weapons deal and then the vulture guy just swooped in right before I could catch the sellers and dragged me like a thousand feet in the air and then my suit made this weird beeping noise and a parachute came out and I fell in the Hudson and Mr Stark-uh My-uh the one from where I'm from had pull me out only it wasn't really him and really just the suit and I told him all about what happened and he told me not to get involved but I didn't listen and went after them anyway and followed them to Washington and then I got detention for like skipping a major school function or whatever but I ditched that and went after the weapons dealers.
"While I was there the vulture guy was there and we kinda fought and one of those high tech weapons fell on the deck and it looked like it was gonna explode so I just kinda panicked and started webbing it to contain but it did explode and then cut the ferry in half. Mr Stark was mad like. Like.. Capitol. Uppercase Mad."
no subject
Please don't mind Jon staring while he tries to comprehend how this all fits together while disconnected from the Eye.
"I... I'm not certain I understand." He finally admits, grimacing a little at his own struggle with comprehension. "He... Tried to protect you, didn't he." That at least sounds like something Tony would do.
no subject
Of course, Peter is much of the same mind. "But yeah, looking at it now.. yeah was trying to protect me.. well and everyone on the ferry. I mean I tried to fix it myself but Karen said I was only ninety-eight percent successful and then the webs started snapping so I tried to just hold it together myself but thankfully Mr Stark showed up all like 'Hi Spider-Man, band practice, was it?' and I could tell by his tone he was really mad, probably also because I had earlier told him I was at band practice and I.. wasn't. But he fixed the ferry and everyone was safe so it turned out okay." Except for the part where he had to walk home in an oversized tourist shirt and hello-kitty pajamas. That part sucked.
