Food
Omega's never seen so much variety of food, much less by way of color and shape. While the food goo dispensed from the ships is tasty, it's still goo, and the diner offerings are limited to what's available, although still a lot better than rations. With Lula tucked in the crook of her arm, the girl goes roaming around by the huts. She's definitely a fan of sweets, and the fact that things have that faint taste of peanut butter doesn't seem to bother her in the least.
Crafty
Making things looks like a lot of fun. Mixing "potions" reminds her of being in Cid's bar, although she's fascinated by the ability to add liquids for a customized drinks. By the look on her face there are definitely some misses in her experimentation, but she seems to rapidly be getting the hang of it. Maybe she'll mix something good for you!
At some other time one might find Omega parked at a costume table with some pieces of cloth, particularly black and red. Her Clone Trooper doll is set there in front of her to watch as she tries to figure out the best way to go about making a kama for it. Painting had been much easier compared to this!
P.E.
No one who knows her should be surprised at all to see the girl at the climbing wall. Even without a spotter, she's clambering up, and all in all her form isn't bad. She's climbed things before and it shows as she's made it up quite a ways. Her brothers do it all the time and Echo even with one hand makes it look so easy! Just...don't have a heart attack when you see her foot slip.
The treasure pit is a safer venture by far, and Omega doesn't seem to mind getting her hands in the sand. It's such a different feeling from dirt, and a prettier color! Her face lights up with genuine glee whenever she does come upon something other than sand, holding up whatever shiny piece of rock she's found as though she's actually found some long forgotten treasure.
You can see her eyeing that swing and barrel. If she catches your eye she might just drag you along to try them with her.
Attack!!
While the archery range is a little familiar in terms of presentation, the equipment itself is quite analogue compared to anything she's used to. She can see the similarities in the bow and how it's used, but it takes her a few tries to properly nock the arrow and fire it without it slipping or swinging away from the rest. Her first successful shots fall well short of the target, but by the look on her face she seems determined to get this right.

"Why exactly did you climb up here, kid?" He directs the question up while at the same time reaching one hand up for her to take as added security. Maybe they can get at least one of them down in one piece?
no subject
Slowly she begins to lower herself so she can reach the next spots below with her feet, shifting her grip to corresponding handholds at that level. Once she's low enough, she reaches out to take his hand, unsure as to how that was going to help either of them.
no subject
He may never have had to get his nieces or nephew off anywhere high, yet Bruno has always made sure to look after the younger members of his family when they were in his care.
no subject
"My brothers have to climb things all the time. Buildings, cliffs, they're very good at it."
no subject
Because he knows he would be worried and he doesn't even have kids of his own. Though in some ways he gets a little protective about his rats at times. Not all the time, of course. They're rats after all and get into very natural ways of trouble.
no subject
Little by little they get lower along the climbing wall. Doing so with only one hand is tricky, but with Bruno holding onto her she treats it as a moving handhold until she's low enough to drop down.
no subject
With both feet firmly on the ground, Bruno can get a better look at the girl that so easily speaks about dangerous situations and having no parents. "Are you okay?" He asks first regardless, because making sure the girl isn't hurt obviously comes first. "A-and... Sorry. If I upset you. By, y'know, asking about your parents."
no subject
"I'm okay," she reassures, arching a brow before she shakes her head. "I'm not upset, really. I've just never had any parents."
no subject
"Are your brothers here as well?" He asks instead, looking around for any further children before offering a reassuring smile to Omega. "I'll help you find them!"
no subject
"My name's Omega. What's yours?" she asks.
no subject
"I'm Bruno." He nods. "Nice to meet you, Omega, even if you gave me a bit of a heart attack." He crouches down next to Omega, hands over his own knees. "Shall we go and find your brother? Wouldn't want him to be lost, right?"
no subject
The girl laughs. "Well, I think we're even there. You startled me too," she points out. "Okay, let's see if we can find him. I'm sure all this has to have attracted his attention."
no subject
Bruno smiles at her laugh and offers a small chuckle along with his shrug of acceptance. "Fair point. So- Where do you think he could be? Is he more the type to be drawn to the food, the games or does he enjoy crafting something new?" He points to some of the booths that match the different groups mentioned, then suddenly beams. "The food here is really good!"
no subject
And then she perks at the food, nodding. "It is! I've never had anything like it! I think he'd look at the food too. Should we try there?"
no subject
Seeing Omega as excited about the food as he feels about it has Bruno chuckle in delight. "Great idea! We can pick up a snack while we look for him." He suggests while turning to head towards the nearest booths, motioning for Omega to come along as he starts sharing some of his excitement regarding the little market. "I enjoy making candles over there. And candles are useful. The free food is a great bonus to this place!"
no subject
"What are candles? Can you show me how to make one? There's so much to see around here, it's hard trying to decide what to do."
no subject
He remains still for another moment, then takes a sharp and very determined turn towards the candle crafting booth. "We gotta fix that, Omega! I will show you and you will make the greatest candle that has ever burned!"
no subject
With the detour suddenly taken, the girl follows after as though swept in the man's wake. Not that she minds a detour, she's curious about this, and Bruno seems very enthusiastic about candles. "I'll do my best!" she says, grinning then.
no subject
They reach the tent that houses the candle crafting area and Bruno picks up one of the candles sitting on the table before turning to Omega with it. "Here. This is a candle and you light this little wick up here with a match." He explains, tapping the unlit wick with a single finger before pointing at the crafting area. "And this is where you can make some for yourself. See these pots over there? That's hot wax. You can make candles by just dipping a wick in over and over again OR you use one of the moulds over there. I personally prefer the moulds."
no subject
She sets the candle down so she can go look at the hot wax, poking a finger at a bit of slightly soft wax along the edge of the pot. "Can you show me both ways?" she asks. He's the candle master, after all!
Beware of handwaving since I have never made a candle in my life.
"How come you have never used candles before?" Bruno asks conversationally while they wait for the most recent layer of wax to dry.
totally fine XD
"Most of the buildings and ships have built in lighting. And we have torches," she says. "I actually have a small one, here-" She opens one of her belt pouches, pulling out a small metal cylinder. Pointing it towards the floor, she clicks it on. "You turn it off and on by this switch here."
no subject
"Oh, that- That's actually really handy! And cute. And you can point it down without dripping wax everywhere!" He demonstrate his point by dipping a spoon into one of the wax tubs and lifting it back out, letting the liquid wax drop back down.
"But how does it work? Is it- Like those strange lights they have at the hotel? Or the kitchen?" By which he is referring to the diner with. Which so far remains the only kitchen in this town he has seen.
no subject
"This has an internal power source. The buildings have connections to a power source built in. I think those connections run to the power station that shows up on the map."
no subject
"You speak about the fire within the walls? That electricity, right?" Bruno assumes, rubbing the dots from his eyes with one hand while handing the torch back. "I was told about that. It's weird! Back home we use candles for light and fire to cook, but here? Everything is so different! And then there is this thing as well-" He pulls out his phone very much like a person that has never owned a phone before. "Apparently I can use it to talk to others?"
