A Faaair is a Ve~ritable Smorgasborg-orgasbord-orgasbord
WHO: Omega, open!
WHERE: Rain Fare grounds
WHAT: Doing all the things
WHEN: Duration of Event
WARNINGS: N/A
NOTES: Will follow your tagging pref!
Food
Omega's never seen so much variety of food, much less by way of color and shape. While the food goo dispensed from the ships is tasty, it's still goo, and the diner offerings are limited to what's available, although still a lot better than rations. With Lula tucked in the crook of her arm, the girl goes roaming around by the huts. She's definitely a fan of sweets, and the fact that things have that faint taste of peanut butter doesn't seem to bother her in the least.
Crafty
Making things looks like a lot of fun. Mixing "potions" reminds her of being in Cid's bar, although she's fascinated by the ability to add liquids for a customized drinks. By the look on her face there are definitely some misses in her experimentation, but she seems to rapidly be getting the hang of it. Maybe she'll mix something good for you!
At some other time one might find Omega parked at a costume table with some pieces of cloth, particularly black and red. Her Clone Trooper doll is set there in front of her to watch as she tries to figure out the best way to go about making a kama for it. Painting had been much easier compared to this!
P.E.
No one who knows her should be surprised at all to see the girl at the climbing wall. Even without a spotter, she's clambering up, and all in all her form isn't bad. She's climbed things before and it shows as she's made it up quite a ways. Her brothers do it all the time and Echo even with one hand makes it look so easy! Just...don't have a heart attack when you see her foot slip.
The treasure pit is a safer venture by far, and Omega doesn't seem to mind getting her hands in the sand. It's such a different feeling from dirt, and a prettier color! Her face lights up with genuine glee whenever she does come upon something other than sand, holding up whatever shiny piece of rock she's found as though she's actually found some long forgotten treasure.
You can see her eyeing that swing and barrel. If she catches your eye she might just drag you along to try them with her.
Attack!!
While the archery range is a little familiar in terms of presentation, the equipment itself is quite analogue compared to anything she's used to. She can see the similarities in the bow and how it's used, but it takes her a few tries to properly nock the arrow and fire it without it slipping or swinging away from the rest. Her first successful shots fall well short of the target, but by the look on her face she seems determined to get this right.
Wildcard

Omega paused from shooting any more arrows, looking on eagerly as Lauri-Ell sorted through the available bows.

But then she smiles. "A bladed weapon with a curve to it. Or... Is that a sickle. I don't remember. I am not allowed to duel."
Wait. She has to pause. Omega's other words catch up with her. Slave traders? The woman looks over at the child and looks angry.
"One should not own other people."
no subject
She pulled another arrow back, lining it up with the target ahead of her.
no subject
With a large enough bow (still far too small) in hand, Lauri-Ell moved to the girl's side and tried to mimic her stance.
"If any were to try that here, I'd have justice from them.
no subject
"Left arm's going to hold it straight. You put the arrow right there just over the grip." She demonstrated, pointing it out on her own bow. "Then the other end has a notch that the string sits in, and you pull it back..."
no subject
Tht said, she starts to follow Omega's instructions, in fact managing to get the arrow on and start to draw. And she draws too far, the wood snapping in her hand. The Kree woman winces in pain, a few splinters lodged in her hand.
"Oh," she said, trying not to whimper in pain. It was not becoming of a warrior. But she did drop the broken weapon and cradle her injured hand in her uninjured. Even her durability wasn't going to hold up against such close proximity issues.
no subject
Omega jumped at the snap, gasping a little as she saw the broken bow. She started over closer. "Are you all right? Here, let me see," she insisted, brow furrowing in concern.
no subject
"It seems these weapons do not suit me."
no subject
"Here," she said, gently taking the woman's hand, frowning as she looked over the damage. "I'm going to remove the splinters. They're big enough to see, at least."
no subject
"Please," she said, trying to keep her voice soft and low. "They are very painful."
no subject
"-three!" she said, tugging simultaneously with a quick motion. The bleeding would have to be dealt with once all of the splinters were removed, but first things first!
no subject
""You have good hands."
no subject
"Just try to relax. There's a couple more..." she said, already positioning herself to remove the next splinters. As soon as she took care of those, she tugged out a square of cloth she had folded in one of her belt pouches to use as a makeshift bandage.
no subject
"You are very skilled."
no subject
Omega smiled a little, shaking her head. "At least it wasn't too serious."
no subject
"I shall have to find a medic to address those concerns later. I am sorry to have interrupted your practice.
no subject
no subject
"What would a medkit require? Perhaps I can fetch things for you, if you are trained with them."
no subject
She smiled. "You wash off that hand. It should be fine once it's cleaned off and rebandaged. And then we can put together some medkits to keep around the city."
no subject
"I will help you in this project if you wish."
no subject
no subject
"I suppose I can do this for myself. I do not wish to interrupt your practice more."
Not that she would not welcome company, but small warriors need much practice.
