It's not as easy as Cayde makes it seem. If you don't keep your thoughts on a careful leash it was easy for things to dip and all the negative things to swirl right in and make themselves comfy. He doesn't have to force a laugh though, nor the smile that follows Jon's reply. His point remains, and so long as there's at least one possibility, that's all they really need.
