Out of the Walls
WHO: Bruno & You!
WHERE: Various locations around Temba
WHAT: Bruno arrived in the city, is certainly NOT dressed for the weather... and lost.
WHEN: First week of February
NOTES: I will start with prose, but will match format, of course
WARNINGS: Beware of Hernando and Jorge.
Hotel
He can see the entire city from his chosen room up on the tenth floor. At least it feels like that. Sort of. But also not really. There are other buildings around that are just as tall, even taller than this so-called hotel. A dull, uninviting place that seems to only exist to store people in it. Bruno doesn't like it. But he also is scared to head back out. Out of his room, out into the cold, out where he might encounter other people.
Unfortunately he has not thought about bringing food with him. Or even water. And he has been getting hungry a while ago now.
It takes him another three hours before he finally rings himself to leave his room and cautiously sneak back down the stairs, hoping to avoid meeting anyone else. He remembers that place with the kitchen and the fire in the walls. Maybe if he's lucky, he can find some food there. At least he knows he can get some salt there...
He makes it all the way into the lobby without incident and casts a quick look around to make sure no one is around. Exhaling in relief, Bruno makes for the door, caution temporarily forgotten as he pulls it open only to run head-first into a person about to head into the hotel, sending Bruno stumbling back and flailing to try and raise his hands. "Oh no no no! I'm sorry. I'm sorry!"
Greenhouse
It has been a short sprint over the plaza and through the (still) cold snow before Bruno can duck into the greenhouse and breath a sigh of relief at the sight of living and blooming plants. He had seen the structure from up in his room and has been left curious. Now he just hopes no one catches him sneaking inside.
The building itself already leaves Bruno puzzled. Translucent but not made of glass. Not that a building made of glass would have been any less reason to wonder. Inside it's warm and he pauses to take in the sight and scents of flowers and plants he doesn't recognize either. Though he doesn't step in too far right away, rather sticking to the nearest bushes and making an effort to slip behind a tree, giving its trunk a gentle knock for good luck's sake.
Maybe not gentle enough, however, as the knock obviously is enough to dislodge one of the purple fruits above, causing it to fall and, naturally, hit Bruno right on the head with an audible thunk immediately followed by a quick "Ouch!" that is much louder than Bruno has anticipated it to be.
Hangar
Thin sandals remain notably unsuited footwear for all the snow still covering Temba. Snow that is still pink and cold and yet little prevents Bruno from walking through it regardless, muttering to himself about freezing his toes off. He isn't even sure what he is looking for. A way out? A path back home?
Maybe. But regardless how far he wanders, he doesn't really seem to be getting anywhere. At some point he seems to be away from most buildings, leaving him wandering without protection from the cold winds and regretful of his decision as he pulls his green ruana tighter around his form, hood pulled low over his head.
Spotting the tall, secluded building feels like a blessing and Bruno makes his way over as quickly as possible, only to pause at the large door, considering to knock. He doesn't knock, instead hopes no one notices him slipping inside and to quickly locate some cover. Though it quickly becomes apparent that he needn't have worried about cover as the large building appears empty. Aside from the massive-
"Wha- What are these?" Bruno wonders aloud, eyes wide as he takes in the small fleet of space ships. Unsure what to make of them and whether or not they may be dangerous, Bruno backs away towards the closest wall, literally bumping into the hovering data point minding its own business. Bruno shrieks and leaps away from the glowing orb at the sudden knowledge being dumped into his head so similar to his visions and yet also so unlike them.
He stares at the data point for another moment, then back towards the ships, mouth hanging open in recognition. "I... I know what you are now..." Bruno remarks towards no one in particular. Though if anyone happens to be around the ships after all, they sure may have heard his shriek.

Hit me up if you wish to set up something else!

"I'm glad you're okay." he smiled. "I just thought you were in trouble, but I didn't mean to scare you if I did."
no subject
There is a pause of Bruno clasping his hands together before he admits: "I don't do terribly well with people."
no subject
"There aren't many places you aren't welcome." Monsters aside, and Terra wasn't going to mention anything about that. "But eventually you're going to be on a ship with people. But still, there's lots of places to kind of duck and hide in them if dealing with strange people isn't really your thing."
Hopefully Terra was helping here.
no subject
He pauses to properly consider the ships. They're big, alright. And pretty strangely shaped. Not that he has ever actually seen a ship, but he certainly has heard of them. And based on that it's even stranger to seeing them sitting on dry land like this. "...how many donkeys does it take to get these to the water?" Bruno wonders aloud and at least for a moment he's a lot less anxious about the idea of being inside one of these. Maybe they can go under water...?
no subject
So he stepped back again to give the other a bit more room and nodded. However, the question threw Terra for a minute. "Donkeys?" That was an odd question, and for a moment he could only picture Eeyore trying to run one of them. So he tried not to laugh because that might be viewed as rude.
"Uh no..pilots power them, so people do."
no subject
He points a thumb at the ships, though Bruno's attention is on the younger man. "Have you visited other towns in these yet?"
no subject
And as for the last, again his head shook. "No. There was a train that led to another city and people took that instead of a ship."
no subject
...eventually.
Bruno's attention shifts out of his brief ponderings and back onto Terra, whom he blinks at once, then gives a small, nervous laugh. His hands totally aren't fidgeting with one another "Uh, y-yes. We didn't really get trains- Accessibility issues, y'know." That entire thing with being an independent village hidden within the mountains... A sudden shift in Bruno's voice to attempt to sound positively confident. "But it's good this place has them! Connect to other cities, meet people, uh-" Look, he's trying.
no subject
Looking at the other now he noticed the hands thing. Ven did that sometimes and so did Aqua so he recognized it. And that made him smile with a nod. "That's okay, no one has to travel by train if they don't want to. People could stay in this city and it wasn't like anyone cared. So if you just want to stay here the next time a train is available, that's fine too."
no subject
no subject
In a sense it reminded him of Ven at first. He wasn't always the adventuresome keyblade wielder that he was today. Even going around the Land of Departure, Terra had walked around with him and showed him safe places to go if something scared him, until he could reach the safety of his own room and go hide under the covers. True it didn't last long, but it was still something he did for the boy who was like a little brother, even if Aqua had thought that would be 'weird'.
no subject
And then his gestures become more animated and Bruno starts pacing a little as he tries to further explain. “Like that whole ‘electricity’ thing?” Yes, he’s even adding air quotes to the word. “Y’know, Cal explained it to me. Somewhat. Still doesn’t make much sense to me. And he showed me that it can cook water!” The boy may as well have used magic. Though chances are that magic would be easier for Bruno to come to terms with.
no subject
One thing was for sure though as Bruno attempted to explain is that he seemed antsy or maybe it was nerves as the man started pacing. And the air quotes thing had him smile because he'd seen Aqua and Ven use them at times and the memory of them doing the same thing made him smile. Maybe there really were similarities between every world, even real slight ones such as that gesture.
But he had to nod. "Yup, electricity is pretty handy for a lot of things like cooking and like the heaters that Cal let me have." Well it was only one, but still. "But I take it they don't have electricity in your world, right?
no subject
"Everyone in town uses regular fire for their cooking, though.Works for them." No one ever thought of putting it inside the walls.
no subject
And hopefully the man in front of him didn't mind his asking.
no subject
At least judging by that question an oven isn't unheard of by this stranger. Which is some sort of a relief. And at least it's a pretty safe topic. "I- uh- Am I not keeping you from some important business right now?"
no subject
At the question though, the keyblade wielder shook his head. "Nope, but I can go if you're going to be alright."
no subject
A pause follows and for a moment Bruno looks down at his own hands which have returned to their idle fidgeting with one another. A second moment passes before he finally offers: "I'm Bruno, by the way. I, uh, I know you didn't ask, but- But we're here. And... Y'know..."
no subject
A small smile then broke onto the keyblade wielder's face. He didn't go around asking names because it seemed some people just preferred it that way. Still, he was polite because that's who he was.
"It's nice to meet you Bruno. My name is Terra."
no subject
"I, uh- I was told no one here was born in this city. That everyone comes from- Somewhere else." This alone is a concept Bruno still finds incredibly hard to wrap his head around. Of course he knows there are places outside his town. Other towns and bigger cities and an entire globe filled with people living their lives.
"Would you mind telling me a little about your home...?"
no subject
He'd heard they were here to save the world which wasn't outside of his usual scope of work. But the problem was that he wasn't sure how to help. There were no heartless, and no unversed. So that left him in a quandry about how he could help these Agrii or whatever they were called.
Looking at Bruno now he had to think a moment. "Well my world was called the Land of Departure. There was a huge castle that we lived in, my family and I. And we learned how to fight and help other people. And that's what I'm told we're all here to do, is to save this world." Terra paused and looked at Bruno. "Have you been told that part?"
no subject
Or... well. Maybe the fighting part not so much. That's not something Bruno would enjoy... The helping people part, however...
Okay. That's pretty much what his family is doing as well, isn't it? Maybe not in an actual castle, but... Casita may be close enough.
Terra's question catches Bruno off-guard and he blinks stupidly for a moment. "Uh..." He shakes his head quickly before scratching the back of his neck somewhat nervously. "I mean... Sort of? I just- I wouldn't know how to- Y'know... I don't- I can't--" His entire posture drops in on itself with a weak shrug. "I feel like they got the wrong person. I don't know how to save anyone."
no subject
But something in the other's posture and blinking had Terra wondering if he should've not mentioned the saving this world part. "It's okay." he said after a moment. "Not everyone should try and just do things they're good at, even if it's making good food or just keeping people company."
Just like Bruno was doing with Terra right now.
no subject
And he usually took the blame for the content of his visions.
"But what- What if you aren't good at anything?" Bruno asks before he can keep himself from doing so, already feeling anxious about what the answer might be.
no subject
While he didn't agree with people being pulled here in the first place, but not everyone was supposed to be a fighter or could fight. And those people would have to be protected as far as Terra went.
Cinderella or Snow White weren't fighters and there'd been absolutely no way that he'd expected them to fight at all.
