Trouble coming in the dead of night
WHO: Kaz and various
WHERE: All over Temba
WHAT: Kaz is talking to people about going outside the city limits
WHEN: Early December
WARNINGS: None anticipated
Civic Center(For Lauri-El)
Kaz had not been here yet and was mildly surprised to find it so colorful. He was expecting to find it as grey and boring as the rest of Temba. He did slow when he passed the fence. But he was not here to look at a mural. Passing it by he went deeper inside to look for a certain person. A certain person with blue skin.
Library(For Jon)
It was he remembered it, it was still with a library's hushed feel despite not having books on the shelves. Kaz had also come here with a purpose in mind and didn't bother to silence his cane. He wasn't planning to stay very long though so he didn't bother to take his winter coat off though it was warmer inside. Instead, he looked into the isles, the empty shelves on either side.
Diner (OTA)
Kaz had made use of diner's services before. And this time like last time he had a single mug of black coffee. He felt that the coffee here was never quite bitter enough for his taste, though. He had a notebook with him and was writing notes by hand in it in a cipher, of which only he had the code word. Since he was already sitting down he had his bad leg propped up next to him on a chair, the same chair that has his winter coat was draped across and his cane was propped against.

it's okay! I knew it was in the works just not the specifics
"I guess he's always had a violent streak."
also please forgive missed words, I have to use speech to text
Whatever Kavinsky might think, Kaz was only made one way. It wasn't easy for anyone to be his friend.
"Whatever happened to me, that is not a good trait to have. Actually, it's a dangerous trait. I may not be interested in revenge this time but regardless of why he does it I will be interested next time."
No worries at all!
There was no easy way to edge into what he wanted to ask about, so he was just...going to dive into it. "So, all of that shit you said you knew about me before--did that go away with the rest of the weird shit or what?"
Also sorry for the delay
There were things about what had happened in October that were hazy in his memory but that much he could remember. In this Kaz was as blunt as Kavinsky.
no worries about that, either!
"The part about dreams. It's kind of a secret. So if you could, you know, keep quiet about it, I'd appreciate it." He hated admitting someone had something they could use against him, but in this case...if Kaz was petty, he could use it against Kavinsky. He was hoping they could be more civil than that, though.

"I know how to keep a secret."
Kaz smirked a bit to himself.
"My question would be what it would be worth to you if I did."
no subject
"So that's how it's going to be? What do you want?"
no subject
"I want you to do what I say and when I say it without talking to or questioning me. Don't worry I don't plan to ask you for anything dramatic."
Kaz waved a hand in dismissal.
"Or for something as potentially dramatic as dreaming a pistol. With your agreement to this arrangement, it will be in my best interests to not reveal your secret either."
Not that he would but Kavisky doesn't need to know that.

"Is this a one time thing or am I going to be your lap dog?" He almost made a crude joke instead but bit his tongue at the last second.
no subject
"A dog would be better, only because dogs don't talk. But I'm not asking you to work for me. Just do the occasional side job for as long as you want that secret to stay a secret."
no subject
"Fuck you," he said, almost amiably, and flipped Kaz off. "Yeah, sure. I guess we've got a deal."
