Trouble coming in the dead of night
WHO: Kaz and various
WHERE: All over Temba
WHAT: Kaz is talking to people about going outside the city limits
WHEN: Early December
WARNINGS: None anticipated
Civic Center(For Lauri-El)
Kaz had not been here yet and was mildly surprised to find it so colorful. He was expecting to find it as grey and boring as the rest of Temba. He did slow when he passed the fence. But he was not here to look at a mural. Passing it by he went deeper inside to look for a certain person. A certain person with blue skin.
Library(For Jon)
It was he remembered it, it was still with a library's hushed feel despite not having books on the shelves. Kaz had also come here with a purpose in mind and didn't bother to silence his cane. He wasn't planning to stay very long though so he didn't bother to take his winter coat off though it was warmer inside. Instead, he looked into the isles, the empty shelves on either side.
Diner (OTA)
Kaz had made use of diner's services before. And this time like last time he had a single mug of black coffee. He felt that the coffee here was never quite bitter enough for his taste, though. He had a notebook with him and was writing notes by hand in it in a cipher, of which only he had the code word. Since he was already sitting down he had his bad leg propped up next to him on a chair, the same chair that has his winter coat was draped across and his cane was propped against.

"Look, I suck at small talk so I'll get straight to the point. I don't like you and you don't like me, but whether we like it or not we are both trapped. I know that you don't care whether you are trapped here or not. But even you have to admit things are escalating. First with Billy's magic, and I will admit that October was probably inspired by you. You may not care if you're trapped here or not, but a lot of other people do care and some of those people are friends of mine. So will you actually help us Mr 'sees-all-things' or will you just do your ostrich impersonation and stick your head in the sand?"

Setting any further ostrich information aside for now, Jon will, however, get up from the floor and back onto his feet. "Also you failed spectacularly at coming straight to the point by leaving me none the wiser regarding what you even want from me in favor of wasting a lot of time and many words to be judgemental of me."
no subject
"I didn't think you needed it to be spelled out. But if you want specifics, then fine. You can see much more than any of us, which means you would be able to see dangers - like storms - before anyone else did. Seeing them you would then be able to find a place that was structurally sound enough where the storm could be ridden out. More than that we don't know what sort of writing we'll find when we go looking, and you already translated the Graq writing on those columns."

"Yes, I am aware you can't see into the future. I'm not suggesting you should, I was more thinking about distance. And hiding in the same building as the replicator may work for the people that are left in the city. But if you still need me to tell you another place that we will be exploring I would also say the mountains or trying to reach the second blinking light. The point still stands that your powers would be very useful. I wouldn't be here if they weren't."
Jon was trying to make the case that he was still normal, but Kaz wasn't buying it for a minute. Because Kaz had so little experience with what happened during the energy storms, he was thinking of them like normal storms that gather and move across the landscape.

"After the mess that was October, I don't think that we have a choice but to go exploring beyond the city limits."
no subject
"While I agree that exploring more of the planet isn't a terrible idea, it's not true that we don't have a choice. We know that Sh'Ka remained entirely unaffected by what happened in Temba. For now at least it remains a safe area."

Kaz shook his head.
"With things escalating we can't take that kind of chance."
At least Kaz wouldn't.
no subject
He turns away with a short wave of his hand after uncrossing his arms again. "Calling the current state of things escalating is being rather dramatic as well. Since I was first brought to this planet, we have, in fact, acquired plenty of knowledge and control and I would offer my personal opinion, but I highly doubt you care to hear it."

Kaz watched Jon walk away with disgust. He shouldn't have come here, but he did want to at least try to talk to Jon.
"So you want to wait for bad things to happen before you'll act. And even when bad things do happen you still don't want to. Yeah, that tracks for you."
They might know more now, but they still had partial or no answers for the questions that Kaz had. But Jon was still going to stay in his Library and be a (mythological) ostrich? Fine. Since Jon obviously wanted to hide from the world, Kaz would let him. Without saying another word, Kaz walked away. Cane tapping in rhythm with his steps.
