Not Quite the Last Train

WHO: Shiro and Open
WHERE: Sh'ka
WHAT: Exploring
WHEN: October 15th on
WARNINGS: None so far.

Arrival
Somehow, luck was finally on Shiro's side. He'd always claim that if he didn't have bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all. Okay, sure, it wasn't really so bleak as that, but he could be over dramatic sometimes.

He had decided to take the train out of Temba and to Sh'ka. His intention was that he was only going to stay for one day, but that plan quickly got waylaid when the train arrived from Temba and it would not return. Further more, some of those who had escaped had reported a strange darkness that had come over Temba suddenly.

After attempting a few more times in vain to try and get the train moving since it sounded like something was happening in Temba, Shiro was forced to give up, stalking away.

Security Center
Since he now had a forced vacation in Sh'ka, Shiro decided to do some exploring. He headed into the security center to see what was there, struck by the oddly relaxing nature of the facility. Strange he thought. A building such as that wasn't normally relaxing in any sort of way.

He happened upon the video that was playing, watching it for maybe five minutes before he got bored and went exploring again. When he cam back a few hours later, he looked back at the screen and raised an eyebrow.

"Is the video repeating?" He could have sworn he had just seen that part...

Theater
Shiro went to the theater when he saw that it seemed to active like the security center had been. He had no previously interacted with the Graq and since he didn't have the communication data point, the words meant nothing to him at all, but would stand in the back watch the figures that danced around on stage, trying to figure out from what they were doing and what was actually going on in some cases.

Around
Shiro could often be found around Sh'ka, exploring whatever he could so there was not much option to go anywhere else. At least once a day, he could be found at the train, trying to see if he could get it to go back.

What was the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result?

Everyone fought back... Yes, few woudl think to do that against the Kree. They had been a power for too long.

"It seems that perhaps conflict is just at the core of some peoples."

Perhaps it had been a rule of life then, and should be taken for it. But one really just had to figure out their way to find their own life.

"Scale is always an important thing to consider. And on the scale, my world is likely like that."

"It was, once. Since the Emperor came to power and united the Kree and Skrull, we are moving to restore ourselves. Repair. Rebuild. Heal as people. This is hard when your people have been at war for nearly a million years. We are a heritage of wounds and hatred."

That said... She sighed.

"The Cotati we nearly wiped out that million years ago. We came into conflict with them because of hte Skrull seeking to uplift the peoples of our world, and having the limited belief that one race should prove itself better. In the end the Cotati were nearly destroyed, and the Skrull and Kree warred until the Emperor."

"With Theodore, it will be possible," Lauri insisted, pride and faith in her voice. "He is a very good man, and he is from Earth. Earth seems to know how to unite very well, and he will teach us."

"He is," she said, smiling brightly. "He trusted me to be his Accuser."

Which was a whole other term that would no doubt need defining.

Yes, she figured as much. This did not seem to be a human concept and that confused her.

"I am a carrier of the law of my people, and a distributor of justice. I find those in the wrong by Kree law, who are subjects of said law of course, and bring truth and justice and hopefully atonement. I also serve as the chief of that order, for there are not many of us anymore, and therefore the bodyguard of our emperor."

Perhaps it was something needed. Those who lived the law fully, who wanted only truth so that proper justice could be given. But only true justice.

"An Accuser is, as my sister used the terms in comparison to Earth culture, the judge, jury, and executioner. This has been abused, and used outside of our people and domains before. I will not allow that to be true again."

That sort of wording almost makes it sound like he expects all power to corrupt. Even the Emperor. And she didn't like that at all.

"Does all power always corrupt?"

Ah, then she has hope for her Emperor. Looks even relieved right now.

"Good. I want to see him succeed."

"I am glad we share this hope," she said. Lauri-Ell did believe that perhaps more people hoping would make it more likely to come true.

"I believe in Emperor Dorrek," Lauri-Ell said with a nod. "And when I go home, I hope I can protect him from corruption."

That was a duty she would take seriosuly.

"You are a good man," Lauri-Ell decided. "It is my honor to know you."

Lauri-Ell smiled and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I would be glad to know you more, Shiro. Another time. For now, I must continue my investigations. Will you forgive my departure?"
