Not Quite the Last Train
WHO: Shiro and Open
WHERE: Sh'ka
WHAT: Exploring
WHEN: October 15th on
WARNINGS: None so far.
Arrival
Somehow, luck was finally on Shiro's side. He'd always claim that if he didn't have bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all. Okay, sure, it wasn't really so bleak as that, but he could be over dramatic sometimes.
He had decided to take the train out of Temba and to Sh'ka. His intention was that he was only going to stay for one day, but that plan quickly got waylaid when the train arrived from Temba and it would not return. Further more, some of those who had escaped had reported a strange darkness that had come over Temba suddenly.
After attempting a few more times in vain to try and get the train moving since it sounded like something was happening in Temba, Shiro was forced to give up, stalking away.
Security Center
Since he now had a forced vacation in Sh'ka, Shiro decided to do some exploring. He headed into the security center to see what was there, struck by the oddly relaxing nature of the facility. Strange he thought. A building such as that wasn't normally relaxing in any sort of way.
He happened upon the video that was playing, watching it for maybe five minutes before he got bored and went exploring again. When he cam back a few hours later, he looked back at the screen and raised an eyebrow.
"Is the video repeating?" He could have sworn he had just seen that part...
Theater
Shiro went to the theater when he saw that it seemed to active like the security center had been. He had no previously interacted with the Graq and since he didn't have the communication data point, the words meant nothing to him at all, but would stand in the back watch the figures that danced around on stage, trying to figure out from what they were doing and what was actually going on in some cases.
Around
Shiro could often be found around Sh'ka, exploring whatever he could so there was not much option to go anywhere else. At least once a day, he could be found at the train, trying to see if he could get it to go back.
What was the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result?

"I don't know, but I doubt we'll figure out anything by watching it. Maybe it's just broken," Omega suggested with a shrug. "There must be other things around here in the city that have turned on now that the power's up."
no subject
He shrugged. "That's a possibility. It could be broken. Showing something happened the day it broke over and over again."
no subject
A wistful sort of look crossed her face as she thought about them. Well, she'd just have to keep doing her best until she got to see them again.
"I guess that could be it," she said with a nod. "Looks like pretty normal things going on."
no subject
He got the opinion from the look on her face that they probably weren't here, but still, the possibility of something that she might be able to enjoy with them and show them.
He nodded. "Nothing strange, at least so far as I've seen."

Her attention shifted to the mothcat who had that look in his eye, and she anticipated the jump from her shoulder. At least Tony was getting used to flitting about while tethered to her, and there was enough slack on the leash that he could be at Shiro's eye-level, sniffing at him curiously before pawing lightly at his hair.
no subject
Shiro raised an eyebrow at the mothcat as it began to move around on her shoulder, watching with interest as it suddenly took flight. Clearly it took interest in him as well as it came over to him and began to bat at his hair. He laughed lightly, not minding the attention at all. “Hello there, Tony.”
no subject
Omega laughed as the mothcat drifted over Shiro's shoulder to perch on the opposite one. Tony proved to be quite light, hardly seeming to weigh a thing. He looked quite proud of himself where he was, lifting a paw to lick now that he had a new perch to settle on.

Shiro glanced over the mothcat as it landed on his shoulder. It was surprisingly light, not even really feeling it sitting there. To be fair, he hadn’t had much interaction with mothcats before so he hadn’t had anything to base that off of other than what he figured mentally for their size.
“Seems like I’ve made a new friend,” Shiro said with a smile.

Omega looked pleased then, nodding happily. Making new friends was glad to be able to do around here.

“Shall we take a look around? See if we can find anything else interesting here?”
no subject
She'd take Tony off Shiro's hands if he was getting too bothersome, but in the meantime since it didn't seem like he minded, she was inclined to let the mothcat continue his play.
no subject
“I started looking in that direction,” Shiro said, indicating which way as they started to move towards the door. “So we can start by looking the other way to see if there is anything of interest.”
For the moment, he was fine with Tony sitting there. His antics were cute so Shiro wasn’t going to worry too much about it. As long as Tony seemed content to sit there and was only trying to play with him, he had no issues.

Tony rather liked his tall perch, quick to watch his balance as the man set off.

“Have you had the chance to investigate any other places here?”

He shook his head at her question. “I don’t believe that I have. Have you been there?”
no subject
"I went by the outside of it. There's so many droids around and inside of it now! They were trimming the bushes and things."
no subject
Also explained why he was probably on a leash now. Harder for him to run away from her when she was holding onto him.
“Really? Can’t believe I didn’t notice that. I guess I will have to go take a look at some point soon.”
no subject
"Well, the city's still big. I guess you'd have to go by there to really notice- it's kind of out of the way," she said, focusing on their present situation. At least there were things to do here to keep her mind off things, not that it stopped her from worrying.
no subject
He was worried about that too. What could possibly be happening there?
“That is true. I don’t think I’ve really scratched the surface of exploring here. I think it could take quite a while to see everything. So the mansion is definitely a place that I should look at to go.”
no subject
"If the city's similar to Temba then there's definitely a lot to see," she agreed.
no subject
But he also didn’t want either of them to focus that so he decided to keep talking about the city they were in now rather than the issue with Temba.
“Seems like it is. It just still seems a lot wilder. Probably because we haven’t really been looking around here for very long. Have you looked at the theater yet?”
no subject
"I haven't," she admitted. "Have you?"
