Arrival Log & A Network Transmission

WHO: The Iron Bull ([personal profile] theirondragon) and you
WHERE: The Fountain
WHAT: Arrival
WHEN: Saturday - Afternoon
WARNINGS: Bull is Bull, will warn as necessary.

The disorientation wore off faster than he would have thought possible. Looking around the place, it was kind of a shit hole, truth be told, but a vaguely familiar one. He couldn't quite put his finger on it as he stood, casting an intimidating shadow of muscles and horns, but the place just felt like he'd seen it before. It was like a dream, though, fleeting and dodgy any time he tried to focus on it. Instead, he followed his gut, which was telling him to touch that shiny thing over there. It was a weird dichotomy, honestly. His gut said to touch it, and his instinct told him it was probably magic or some other technological weird crap and that it would probably do something to him.

He touched it. His instincts were right. Agrii sounded familiar, too, and in that weird, half-dream sense as much as what the orb shoved into his head. That wasn't weird. That had happened a lot, he was pretty sure of it, but the big guy still shook his head, a hand on his forehead.

"Shit."

It was a lot, alright?

\\NETWORK - later\\

[The video feed comes on to show a grey-skinned man with sharp features, dark stubble, a scarred face with a fetching leather eyepatch (well, it at fetching according to at least one person who mattered), and what looked to be some hefty horns coming off his head. It was hard to tell their size from the feed, but they were definitely there.

He grins at the feed before he speaks, but it's a casual, good-natured thing. His voice is deep, too, earthy and rough. He speaks slowly like he has all the time in the world.
]

Hey, folks. I just showed up, but I get the idea that's happened to a lot of you guys. I'm The Iron Bull. Any tips for the new guy? I'm open to all of it. Why don't we start with where to get a drink?

((OOC: For those of you continuing his TDM threads, responses are below from the latest tag!))

Not to her indeed, which made him that much more acceptable as a possible choice. And the weapon he carried made it seem perhaps he used something similar to hers. That would be good for training.

"Yes, many humans are very small."

“They do not. Humans help shape the universe itself at this point,” Lauri-Ell said with a soft smile. She was proud of the kindness in that race. They had made the Emperor better for being among them. And her sister seemed happy there.

And Colonel Rhodes was a good match for her sister and that was good too.

“I do not know what an elves is.”

Humans were lucky because they were so inherently adaptable and changing. Including with mutants.

"I do not believe I have ever encountered anything like them," Lauri admitted, frowning. "I am sorry that history has been unkind to them. People should not have to tolerate such things."

"Yes, I can believe that," Lauri-Ell answered. The Kree were not big on magic or religion in most cases. That was more a Skrull thing. But her Prince was a mage, so she had faith in its potential.

"Still, it can make the world better in other ways."

"Have you?" she said, sounding very concerned. Magic being used for ill struck her as very potentially dangerous, and she didn't know how to take this information.

But the idea that it could be used to mess with someone's head had her cringing at the information. No, this was not good at all. She didn't like the sound of it.

"That should not be allowed."

That was quite sad. Lauri didn't like the idea of abuse of that at all. Of course she only knew two mages and they would never abuse their skills.

"The Prince would never misuse his magic if he could help it. Nor would Mur-g'nn. They are honorable and serve only good, knowing not to over stretch their power."

"Ah, do they? I do not think that is part of magic in my world, so I can understand the fear you would have," she said as she stroked her chin. "That sounds more like a telepath to me."

"They're people with the ability to speak mind to mind, and touch other minds," Lauri-Ell explained. Which likely would be something that upset him.

"I can understand this feeling. I myself have been trained through a sharing of knowledge similar to that, and I do not think it is pleasant," she admitted with a shrug.

"They are very strange," she allowed with a nod. "I do not think there are any telepaths here."
