[ Netwok Video Post ]
I just think the others might want to know about it... [ Alberto is talking to someone off-screen once the video starts, and it honestly could be anybody: Grogu, Omega and Simba are in the mines and not just about anywhere. They had the necessary crystals to turn on the machines and were small enough to fit through the tunnel.
Drake, who joined them a bit later, isn't too happy with their affairs. He can be seen in the background short of tearing his hair out in frustration, while a few feet from him, Grogu looks really pleased with himself. Alberto is doing his best to aim the camera of his device to the many, MANY new active monitors and ignore Drake interrupting him at every turn. ]
"Ciao, everyone! Look what we found when we turned on..."
"-YOU HAVE NO IDEA-"
"...the machinery in the mines...."
"-COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED-"
" ...it shows some funny symbols and pictures."
"DIDN'T TELL ANYONE WHERE YOU WERE G-"
"It looks like a monitoring sys-"
"UNBELIEVABLE!!!"
[ Frankly, Alberto doesn't understand why cause such a fuss. They were all together, so they didn't break Cobb's rule of 'don't go into the mines alone'. See? All ended well! They found televisions. Alberto is about to try and say something else when there's a ping coming from his communicator, audible to everyone thanks to the fact he's still recording live.]

[ The young sea monster pauses, big green eyes blinking in confusion. He looks back at the others as if that will give him a clue, some of them are engineers too. ]
We what now...?

video;
[ Kaz has had a smirk straight off, too. ]
Whatever you did got Riley pretty riled, at any rate.
Re: video;
[ Which is a bit weird to Alberto that the other man is so short, but who is he to go pointing fingers? ]
He came later when we were about to start this thing and has been screaming since then. Can't be good for his throat.
video;
[ That would be agreeing with Alberto as well as vaguely threatening Drake. ]
Cobb did make a good point about why it's deactivated and then buried. Somebody, the Agrii or otherwise, didn't want that machine found.
no subject
Ah, yes...But the Agrii that are still around were curious about it too, they made a video and got rid of the bugs, so we could go through the tunnels. Maybe it was someone else who buried the machines, as you said.
The monitors don't show any interesting movies, there are just streets and ruined buildings like the ones here and... [ Alberto turns to give them another good look, then frowns. ] ...No wait, not like the ones here. There's a lot of plants, like in the other city.
no subject
Really? Is it the other city, meaning are there any familiar landmarks or is it some other place altogether?
no subject
[ He walks around Drake, totally ignoring the other man, and stands closer to the monitors so Kaz can see what's on them. ] Does it look familiar to you?
no subject
The real question is who was watching those monitors before you found them.
[ The obvious answer would be the Agrii, but Kaz isn't so sure about that. ]
no subject
That...is a good question. Do you think they were spying on each other? Maybe if someone could read the symbols on the screen, it would gives a clue. [ He turns the camera around, so he's once again visible. ] Ezra asked if any of us had the Communications data point, but I don't think we do. And the passage is still too small for most adults to go through.
no subject
Alright, then follow the logic on that. We know that at some point in the past the Agrii were invaded, then conquered and this was their world, the same Agra-10 we're on now. They were invaded by the Atroma...but what about during that invasion? As I understand it, the Agrii have been doing what they can for us, but what if those monitors show another part of Agra-10 that they were already watching. If whatever happened to them was being shown on those monitors, or better yet if it was being recorded, then that would be a good reason for the Atroma to bury it.
no subject
The Atroma didn't want people spying on them, or recording their misdeeds, then? Communications don't work at all in the other city, but if there's a signal here that points to it, perhaps there's another room with monitors in that city as well. Do you know if the other city has mines?
no subject
Something like that. Whoever it was that was doing the watching would have been better off recording for later viewing anyway.
[ Kaz sighs with frustration. ]
To my knowledge, no one with the Communications Datapoint has changed whether one can receive messages at all in the other city. I don't know if there are also mines there either but I'll be looking for them now.
no subject
Maybe now that we can tell the Agrii what's down here, they could help figure out things?
[ They might not know anything, but it's worth checking. Alas, Alberto doesn't really know how to talk to them directly. Sending the Agrii a message has never occurred to him ]
Do you want me to come with you? In case you need someone small to fit into another narrow tunnel.
no subject
[ Communicating with the Agrii without the Atroma intercepting it first was a project that Kaz had been working on for several months now. And the offer to come along pleased Kaz probably more than he was letting on. ]
If you want to, then sure.
no subject
[ That would imply the Agrii learning said secret code too, however, which would bring a new set of different problems. ]
Yeah! It's no problem. I like hanging out with you. [ Said so casually and with honesty. ]
