Paging Dr. K.
WHO: Eddie and YOU
WHERE: Network and the Temba Hospital
WHAT: Office Hours
WHEN: Uuuhhh whenever?
WARNINGS: Language
Network
[Eddie hates using the communicator like this... he never even liked Skyping back home, damnit! But he'll make an exception for this. It takes him a moment to be sure the thing's working before he clears his throat and speaks.]
Um. Yeah. Hi. I'm not about to go wandering around underground or run off to the other city, but I want to make myself useful around here somehow. So I'm going to start spending time at the hospital every day. That way if people need medical attention they can just, you know, come in...
[He pauses. Wow this sounds so fucking awkward. He sighs, scrubbing a hand over his face. Frowning a little, he gestures sharply with his hand.]
Listen, I shouldn't have to explain how a fucking clinic works. We're all reasonably intelligent people here. I'll put up a sign or something with the hours I'll be there.
Clinic
[Just like he said, he posts a sign with rough hours he'll be there. Not wanting to take up all of his time doing this, he basically blocks out a few hours each morning and afternoon, with two evenings a week. It's all in Earth time so sorry to anyone who doesn't know how that works. He also leaves a note for anyone to send him a message directly if it's an emergency.
He's picked out a few rooms to work as a waiting area, office, and exam rooms. He might not be a doctor, but with the knowledge he got from the data point he's reasonably certain he can help people with most things. And, hey, it's the least he can do since he's not the adventuring type.
The not-doctor is in if anyone wants to pay him a visit!]

But hidden in with the dickery was a request for help. At least Eddie thinks there is. He gestures for Tommy to follow him to one of the exam rooms. "At the risk of inflating your ego even more... You were right. Kind of." He glances over at him, "We're dating now." Before Tommy can respond, he holds up a finger, "But that doesn't mean I appreciate you being an asshole about it."
no subject
And resists pumping his arm in victory. Or actually responding before Eddie can hold up the finger. Speedsters, they talk when they want.
So, instead of saying anything about the Richie and Eddie two-man train to pound town, he just follows the guy.
"So this place got one of those x-ray machines?"
no subject
Tommy holding back was noticed and appreciated. Eddie makes a face, sighing and shrugging. "Maybe? Honestly, I don't think we can use half of this shit because it's designed for the Agrii. And the other half is kind of busted. I'm making do with what I have."
no subject
"Alright then. Uh, I still need it looked at. My leg sorta got crushed, and it hurts."
no subject
Eddie's eyes widened and he offered a hand to help Tommy up on the exam table if he wanted. He fully expected him to refuse, but it would feel rude lot to at least offer. "Crushed? Crushed by what? How long ago? How the fuck are you walking?!"
no subject
"Um, the remains of a structure in the other city, a day and change ago, and Billy healed the broken bone. He did his best given we ain't got shit."
And Tommy refuses to have a cast.
no subject
Eddie nods, fighting not to wince at the thought. Shit, that sounds rough. "Okay. So it sounds like he healed the worst of it. Uh... Where did it get crushed?" He gestures to Tommy's leg. He doesn't really want to see him with his pants off if he doesn't have to.
no subject
He sighs and reaches down to lay his hand against the place, mid-calf, that hurt the most. He didn't know about the torn muscle. Not so bad that he'd need real medical care, definitely bad enough that he should probably be off his powers for a while.
"Here," he said.
no subject
He nods, "I'm gonna have to push up your pant leg to take a look, okay?" if he gets the okay, he'll do just that, careful not to hurt him. He frowns as he looks over the leg, carefully inspecting it for swelling, bruising, or redness.
no subject
It looks fucking painful.
no subject
He frowns at the leg before him. "Well... it's tough to tell without an X-ray but I don't think it's still broken. If it is, it's probably just a slight fracture since you're still walking on it. I think I should a least wrap it for you, try to immobilize it a bit. Maybe find you some crutches. The less you walk on it while it's healing, the better."
no subject
"Not fractured. Billy wouldn't let that happen. It doesn't feel like a fracture, I've had one of those. It's different. More... I don't know, meaty?"
Muscle pain, that's what he's trying to get at. But he frowns at the suggestion of not walking much.
"You're really going to tell me not to walk on it, aren't you?"
