[Lance is holding out the communicator in front of him as he walks, the background showing that he's on his way to the train. He gives a grin and a wave with his other hand.]

Yoooo, everyone! So I'm about to hop on the train to this other city, but I think I'm a little late to the party. So before I amble around like a lost tourist, does anyone have any suggestions of what's hopping around there? I mean. Figuratively. I don't think we're gonna find some awesome dance club or anything. But maybe there's some cool stuff to check out, or useful stuff we can bring back?

[Well, it's been a while since he's been in a department store. And by the looks of it, it just might have some cool things to take. Part of him feels bad, thinking that it's shoplifting, but it's not like there are any cashiers to check out with! ...Or money to use. Yeah. It's cool.

For now, Lance hums to himself as he browses through the aisles. Clothes are definitely up on the list of things to get. And maybe he can find things that could be useful for his and Keith's eventual wedding...?]

Nice of you to finally join us. [Keith smirked.]

I've already checked out some of the hangar. There are three more ships, apparently.

There's also a store of some kind. Wanna meet me over there, and we can see if there's anything we can use? Or we can go over the rest of the hangar I haven't looked at, yet.

Oh, wow. Ruuuuuuuude. You've caused me great emotional suffering with that and I dunno what it's gonna take for me to forgive you...

[He sticks his tongue out at him.]

Three more ships, huh. Interesting. Do they look like they run or are they like, broken run-down hunks of junk?

Ooooh...the store sounds like a good first stop, though. I'll meet you there. Maybe we can find some cool stuff.

[Keith just laughed, and then glanced to one side for a moment.]

If you hurry up and catch the train, we don't even have to meet at the store. I'm in the middle car.

[They were still in Temba, but the train would be leaving momentarily for it's first trip over to the newly discovered city.]

The ships are a lot like the ones we already have, but... kind of Agrii-made? I can show them to you once we're over there, and you'll understand a bit better. The uh... Flygood is certainly an interesting one, to say the least. And that's not just because it uh... like the rest of our ships, is locked down and refuses to fly right now.

Okay! On my way!

[He starts to pick up the pace, then, walking at a brisk pace.]

Should I ask you to define "interesting" or is it more of a it'll be more fun if I see it without knowing kinda thing?

I'm gonna say it's more fun without knowing.

[Keith smirked.]

I really don't know how to describe it without doing it a disservice. You really just have to see it.

It isn't long until he makes it to the train, thankfully. Lance boards it, immediately seeking out his fiance, and grins when he spots him.]

[Oh, Lance... Keith wasn't sure if this one was good, but it was definitely surprising.

Keith turned when he heard Lance's voice, and shifted over in the seat so there was room for them to sit together.]

Hey.

[And talk about timing, because as Lance reaches Keith's spot, the doors close so the train can get going.]

[Excuse the woman for her confused look, but he's definitely said something that draws Lauri-Ell's curiosity.]

I have heard of dancing, but I did not know that humans have specialized locations for performing such movements. Are they common? Should we expect one there?

Pretty common, yeah! In a good chunk of places, at least. You don't need to go to one of them to dance, of course, but they're a fun place to go where a lot of people are gonna be doing it.

As for here, uhhh... Honestly, I honestly don't know. Someone would have to make one. And there'd have to be enough interest... We don't have a ton of people here, and I don't know if a lot of our population is really into dancing?

Ah! You wish to speak to Peter Quill. He likes dancing. He attempted to show me how he dances. Said it helped him win a battle against Ronan the Accuser.

I am not certain I believe him, for his dancing seemed to be bad kicking.

A literal dance battle? I gotta hear the full story for that.

This is a thing then? That one can compete in martial conflict by this ‘dancing’ thing?

It has never been taught to the Kree. Perhaps this is why he won?

I mean, usually when someone thinks "dance battle", it's people having a dance-off. And you decide the winner based on who's the better dancer. I've never heard of someone using dancing to actually fight a legit fight, though. I mean, I think there's a style of dance or two that kinda look like martial arts?

If there is a winner decided, there must be a judge. Or are there specific points gained for different dance moves?

I've never actually been to one myself. I think it might change depending? There's probably some more technical ones that do assign points, but I think for the most part they're pretty informal and subjective. Like, someone just judges, or the crowd judges and whoever gets the louder cheers wins?

If they are subjective, then how can one ever be certain that they have indeed succeeded in being the best?

[This is actually a little distressing to her. How does one prove they are the best if it is all subjective?]

Well, you have a point there... I guess if you see the other person and realize that yeah, okay, they outclassed me, it's fine. Or agree on the subjective terms, like the judge or the people deciding. Not that everyone's gonna think that, though, I guess...

Definitely not all humans. Just the people into that kinda hobby.

I was not aware it is a hobby. If I knew of that I would have tried to ask Carol about it. Humans tend to believe Kree should have hobbies.

Dancing in general is a hobby in itself. But people passionate about it sometimes get into competitions, yeah. And...Kree? Is that what you are?

[Humans usually aren't blue, so he'd figured already that she wasn't human.]

Competitions among my people tend to be in matters of martial prowess.

Humans have loooooads of different competitions between them. Fighting's one of them, though.

I've never heard of the Kree before, but honestly, the universe is a huge place. Definitely learned that traveling it. Plus, the multiverse or whatever... But yeah! It's really nice to meet you. My name's Lance. I'm, well, obviously a human.

Oooooh. Okay. So, different universe too. Humans on my Earth didn't really know of or see aliens until really, really recently.

Ah, that is probably for hte best. Many groups of aliens who travel the universe are not nice ones.

[Well, he’s not alone in the aisles. Not that Tommy’s easy to pinpoint at first. He’s just a blur through the aisles until he sees… is there someone there? Tommy has to pause and back up a few aisles to look down it. Huh. Yeah, he recognizes someone.]

[Granted, at this point, if he sees a blur out and about, his first thought's going to be "oh hi, Tommy". Unless there's other speedsters about? Lance really needs to meet more of the newbies.

When he hears the voice, he turns around, smiling and waving.]

Yo! Yep, pretty sure it's me. No evil clones going about that I know of. What's up?

[There aren’t other speedsters around. Yet. Wait until his uncle shows up. They’re going to be menaces together.]

I was going to ask what was up with you. Wasn’t expecting to see you here, so far from your cow. What’s up man? Looking for something?

Kaltenecker is a big girl, she can take care of herself. [He laughs.] And nothin' really in particular? Just seeing what could be useful. Clothes, food, cool knick-knacks...

[He hums, thinking it over.]

Ooooh. Maybe I can find stuff for me and Keith's wedding.

[Tommy mods along because that all makes sense. And then stops.]

[With a happy, sappy smile, Lance raises his hand, where an engagement ring lays on his ring finger.]

Keith proposed to me some time back. We still haven't set a date for the wedding since things get really chaotic around here, but it's gonna happen!

[Shit, a reason to party? Tommy is down for this. Really fucking down for this.]

When? Where are you doing it? Give us enough time and I could wrangle the meal planners at the diner for a fitting reception. Oh, maybe we can test the Agrii limits of gifts and figure out if they can help us with some stuff.

Soon, though we haven't decided on an exact date. Or the place, for that matter... Honestly, even if we've been engaged a while, we haven't really gotten much properly planned.

[He gives a sheepish grin to that.]

Any help would definitely be useful! And oooh... That's worth a shot. Even if they totally misunderstand our requests like they do a lot.

You should see what they gave me for celebrating the holidays.

[Tommy sighed, shaking his head. He didn’t want to remember the attempt at a menorah.]

So, anyway, were you guys like engaged before you got here? Does Shiro know?

Ah, no, we got engaged when we were here. I mean, we've been together for a while now, since back when we were in the fleet proper, but he didn't propose until this place. Got to it before I got a chance to propose to him!

Shiro knows, though! I mean, it's not something I couldn't just not tell him right off the bat. He guessed who I was with super, super quick though... I wonder if he saw something back home that we didn't?

[Nah man, he's gotten rid of that stuff.]

Well, have you ever been to the hot springs? If not, they're awesome, totally check them out. Anyway, so, Keith invited me there with him, which is always pretty A+++. But when we were there, he started giving me a little speech, and god, for a second I thought he was gonna break up with me or something! But I was totally wrong, 'cause then he asked me to marry him.

[Lance beams, glancing down at his ring.]

He got two rings, so he has a matching one. And now, we're engaged. It's really hard to actually plan a wedding in a place like this when we never know what's going to happen, and it's not like we can hire a wedding planner or order a fancy cake or whatever, but meh. I don't think Keith's much for big fancy stuff like that anyway. And that's fine. I'm like, desperately sappily overwhelmingly in love, so anything's gonna be good with me.

Dude, of course I've been there. But, like only twice?

[The energy amplification aspect of parts of the caves fucked Tommy up something fierce. And with his explosive powers back, he wasn't willing to risk being around there without it being an absolute emergency. He used the ships to shower even if he wanted a bath that wasn't in the ocean or sea or whatever.]

Well we can probably do food at the diner. But that's about it.
