TEMBLA
I. Around the City - Say aloe to my little friend.
[ Being new here, the first thing Alberto does is try to memorize what places in the city are the best ones best to find food and shelter. He's using one of the cup leaves to carry what he can find and ends with a mixed assortment of goods: bavonroom, cakesponge, crunchy persimmon, cyananas...
It's only when he walks by one of the Holdfast Vines and brushes the vines that he gets into trouble. He's not expecting the tree to move, much less to have a vine suddenly wrap around his wrist and grab him. ]
Wha--? Ey! Let me go! [ He lets out a startled yelp and tugs back trying to free himself but with no luck. He would welcome any help, really. ]
II. Beach - Fancy places call this Sushi
[ The view of the beach is a comforting one, even if the sand is the wrong color and the creatures in the water are not what Alberto is used to seeing. As he had promised Cayde, he's been finding and collecting alive fish for the Exo to add to his tank at the Deep End.
Anybody walking by the beach by the early afternoon might find him sitting by on a rock, straight up munching on raw a fish like it's no big deal, because to him, it isn't. Next to Alberto, there's a big metal helmet filled with ocean water, the fishes he's got for Cayde swimming in it. Alberto underestimated how much the helmet was going to weigh once filled up, and he's trying to come up with a way to carry it to Cayde's place. He's still thinking about that when he hears someone approaching and looks over them, gesturing to the helmet with a; ]
Ciao! If you are hungry, suit yourself. I think I fished too many.
III. Mines / Network
[ Some other explorers, before adventuring into the caves, might come up with a plan to check the air quality, make sure the walls are safe enough, perhaps they even bother to bring in some weapons...not this kid, though. Alberto can see well in the dark unless it's total pitch black, he's small enough to get through any tunnel, and he likes exploring, so that's exactly what he does.
Fortune favors the brave, as they say.
He gets further into the caves, and the more he sees, the more curious he gets. The rusted metal door only makes him pause briefly before he continues, and in no time, Alberto finds himself staring at the powered-off display and the possible places where energy crystals could go. The equipment is broken, and he knows how to fix it, even if he's never seen it before.
This has been happening since Alberto touched the engineering data point a few days ago,. He can now look at all that strange alien tech and remember what it is supposed to do, what it needs to be done to make it functional. It's weird, but weird it's also his usual, so he just assumes that's how life is goign to be from now own. He starts pushing all the buttons he can reach, paws at the powered screens, and basically touches everything that is touchable before giving up.
Tsk, he's going to need to make some crystals to make any of this work, but maybe other people already have some. With that idea in mind, he opens the communicator and chooses the video function, typing is still difficult for him. The connection is spotty at best, being deep into the mines, and there are dark shadows over his face, but his green eyes are still clearly visible. ]
Hello? Can anybody hear me? I'm in one of the caves and there's all this stuff...[ Alberto swings the communicator around, so it shows the different machinery and screens. ] They need crystals to work, I know how to make them but I haven't got any yet. Does anybody have a few to spare?

Alien Target 2
[ Unlike the clothes in the Department Store of Tembla, the ones here have the right number of sleeves, and Alberto is looking around to see if he can find anything useful to wear. Most clothes are too big for him or he has no idea how to wear them, but he eventually finds a soft cream-colored sweater that is close to the right size to fit him.
It prompts him to bury his face in the sweater and laugh, the sound reverberating around the (supposedly) empty building. He's never had clothes this soft before, everything he's worn until now had been scavenged and threadbare, and it's just SO.SOFT. ]

"I'm Ezra," he adds.
no subject
"Do you? Great! I was going to contact Cayde if I couldn't find it, but I really wanted to surprise him. He says that a small green kid has been eating his fish."
After that, he gets down the rock and reaches out to grab Ezra's hand, shaking it enthusiastically.
"Piacere di conoscerti, Ezra, my name is Alberto scorfano. Are you also from Cayde's world?"
no subject
His expression rapidly morphs into a bemused smile. "Nah, I'm not from Cayde's world. I'm probably not even from the same galaxy."
Or universe for that matter, he's pretty sure, there's no reason to throw all the confusing information at the younger kid immediately.
"I was born on a planet called Lothal. Where are you from, Alberto?"
no subject
"What...there's more than one galaxy? Oh wait, Luca mentioned that once, he read it in a book." Luca had been only half-listening back then, it was hard to imagine that the cosmos was so big. And a bit overwhelming too.
"I've never heard of Lothal before, what is it like? I'm, ehm...Portorosso , it's a fishing town from Italy. It's on Earth. It's much sunnier than this place, less destroyed."
no subject
"I know a little about Earth." Or well, a fake parallel version of Earth he has memories of growing up on, mostly. "Italy's where pizza was invented, right?"
He definitely remembers pizza.
"Lothal has some big oceans. Capital City, where I was born, in on the coast even. But I spent more time in the grasslands on the other side of the city."
no subject
"Yup! We also have fantastic pasta, like the Trenette al pesto. Cayde told me you don't have that here, though, that's terrible." It's honestly heartbreaking because pasta is the most delicious dish ever.
"Sounds like a nice place, I think I'd have liked to see it." He looks behind them towards the city for a moment, his smile faltering a little. "I haven't visited the grasslands yet. this city really is much bigger than any place I've been before."
Not counting the sea, of course, but he can't exactly go telling people that.

"Clarice? I haven't met her yet. Is she your mom? And I had no idea there was a diner!" Any place that serves food is a place Alberto wants to see. He looks statics at the news and then a little more doubtful. " But ah...I don't have any money."
no subject
Then he shrugs. "And you don't need any money. We just all pitch in where we can. If can you help the dinner collect ingredients for meals, sometimes, that'd be great."
no subject
"That's great to know. I can help around, and I can fish more for other people. I did it back in Portorosso too. I just need to find a net."
no subject
"A net. Um. Well, there's always the box where you can ask for things at the welcome center, but you won't necessarily get exactly what you ask for. And then there's Lark - she's a weaver. Seems like something she might know how to make."
no subject
"I've seen the box but I didn't ask for anything yet."He thought it was some sort of joke, mostly because he's still trying to understand the way the Agrii write and talk. "Where can I find Lark?"
no subject
no subject
Alberto isn't short for his age, but the stairs the Agrii use are too high for his liking. It would take him ages just to go up and down the building.
"Do you live there as well?"
no subject
"Nope. I live at B6 on the map. There's several of us there, and making changes to make it a nicer place to live. If you hear someone refer to the temple, that's probably where they mean."
no subject
"B6, I haven't gone near that area yet. The city is just so big..." But he smiles at Ezra's words. "Ah, so you're a religious community? "
Temple, church...same thing as far as he knows.
no subject
"We're not trying to convert people or anything, though. That's not really how Jedi work. People where I'm from are sometimes born with the potential for some rare abilities to tap into the energy all around us. People use them in different ways. Being a Jedi is about devoting your life to understanding how that energy and those abilities work, and using it all to help people. There's traditions and philosophy that go with it."
no subject
"Tap into the energy? Like...the electricity? Isn't that dangerous, you could get zapped." He doesn't see the relationship between electricity currents and philosophy but you do you, Jedis.
no subject
"Well. Electricity is a form of energy, yes. Not the only one. And also, yes, how we tap into energy can be dangerous, too. That's part of why we study and train hard. To keep it under control and know when and how to use it."
no subject
"That's impressive." There's a pause before he adds. "Could you use your religion-electricity powers to power up the machines in the city? Or maybe a lamp?"
no subject
"Maybe. But probably not for very long, because that seems like it would take a lot of energy. Channeling it through myself can make me stronger or faster, while I'm doing it, which is why I said I was pretty sure I could help you care your fish collection. I could also try to pick it up just with energy - like with my mind - but that's even more tiring."
no subject
"Ah, right. To keep a room lit up, you'd need to constantly be focusing on it all the time without being able to do anything else? That would be impractical."Alberto looks from Ezra to the helmet filled with water and the fishes in it. Lifting it up with his hands is hard enough, doing it with energy alone is unheard of.
"I see...Jedi sounds really amazing. How many of you are here?"
no subject
"His species lives a really long time, so it'll be awhile before he's not a little kid."
