continue to fly in the face of reason
WHO: Aeon and whoever joins her
WHERE: Temba & Not-Temba
WHAT: Exploring - Security Station, Hotel, Laboratories
WHEN: 2nd half of July
WARNINGS: It's Aeon. She'll probably be indecent or get herself hurt at least once - especially if she manages to get into the lab.
Temba - Pre-Exploration
The little section of Temba Aeon has claimed for herself used to be an Agrii salon. There are numerous clientele service chairs, long and thin, with complicated arm and leg rests. She's moved them all over to one side in a sort of lounge space, and filled that with plants and pillows. The mirrors have been repurposed and set along the floor, ceiling, and sides of the entrance - both for visibility and as a stylistic choice.
Since Echo had announced that he was staying in Temba for a little while before taking the train in, Aeon had decided to wait and go with him, so they could experience it all together. To pass the time, she gets a few cans of black and white paint from Alien Target and starts to paint the walls. She has the doors propped open to vent the paint fumes, but also as an open invitation. She's also going to attempt a little portrait of Ga Re near the door, in case the Agri ever comes to visit - and also because she looks like she'd be fun to draw.
Not-Temba - The Hotel
Anyone approaching the hotel might notice a small speck crawling up over the higher floors. Yep. It's Aeon. She's used the grapple attachment for her gun to scale past the ruined staircases, and is determined to get a look at the top. Anyone feel like joining her? Or maybe trying to talk her out of another Bad Idea?
Not-Temba - Security Station
Aeon doesn't hesitate before creeping into the squat, stocky building. Security means secrets, and secrets are fun. She wanders the halls, running a hand over the seamless stone, searching for any cracks, indents ... anything that could lead to a hidden panel or access to power sources or wiring. When she reaches the carved-in desks, she'll crawl underneath, checking there just as thoroughly: though she has to turn herself into a leather-clad pretzel to do it.
Not-Temba - Laboratories
Another puzzle... she's determined to get in, but lacks the resources to get through the stone, so she's parked herself outside on a bench to study her impenetrable adversary. Those 'do not enter' signs are practically an invitation, but she doesn't have any of her usual explosives.
"Hm."

She patted the pouch hanging from her hip, and the precious batteries within jangled faintly.
"He gave them to me at the power station. Said they kept them in spare offices. We might even find a few more here..."
no subject
her hipthe pouch mentioned. "That's thoughtful of him," he nods, also signaling that he's all for moving up a floor now that they're both done here."We'll keep an eye out for any," he adds in agreement, shifting his blaster into low-ready stance. "I'll take point."
sadly no more crystals here, we need an engineer
oh okay o7
At the top of the stairs, he holds up an arm, doing a quick sweep of the upper level before moving ahead. The barrel of the blaster is raised as he walks with purpose, slowly coming to a stop along the wall.
And he stays like that, holding his position until...nothing else happens. "...Clear."
had her ask Natasha if she knew anyone, maybe we'll get Tony
The door ahead is the only one in the corridor, which in her experience, means it leads to something important. Aeon scans the walls, sees evidence of electrical banks, the markings on the wall that her data point has taught her mean conduits.
"Whatever's in there takes more juice than we have on us. How do we get more?"
TOnyyyy aaa
Looking at the markings, Echo tilts his head. "If there's a power station around here," he suggests as he glances back to her, "that would definitely give us a boost."
no subject
With a smirk, she quips, "How do you feel about sharing me?"

Luckily he was coming up the corridor that was already cleared. Kaz had made certain other people, most of which were much better at making sure a given place was safer, go in first. But he was definitely checking it out once they had.
"Apparently your timing was good, kid. I put the power crystals in your bag and it looks like there's a use for them, now."
no subject
"Who's this?"
no subject
"Yes, it looks like it." Alberto was already familiar with Echo, and he gave him a little wave after spotting the white and blue armor. The helmet was new, he's never seen the man with it on, but it looked both really weird and really impressive. So was the lady next to him wearing a...bikini? Yeah. Alberto smiled up at her a tad more shyly and then stepped forward to offer a hand.
"Ciao signorina! My name is Alberto Scorfano, nice to meet you."
no subject
*thunk*
Good timing, indeed. The murmured slip of a answer to Aeon was cut off as Kaz announced himself, relaxing when the former greeted the latter. "Speaking of hands..."
As Alberto came up behind them, he turned, returning the wave. "Hey kid. Looks like you've been busy." He then looked back to Kaz and Aeon. "So now that we're all here...how are we going about this?"
no subject
"That will depend on how many energy crystals you need right now. I know that Aeon has two since that's what I gave her, but how many more will you need with that?"
waiting on mod info!
She turns to Alberto, eyeing his bag. "Nice to meet you, too," she said, though she had no idea what a Chow Signoreena was. Maybe it was something he'd found out in the city ruins. "Even nicer, if you have any crystals in that bag of tricks. Or hiding in those curls."
((OOC: Question thread is here!))
Got it o7
It was such a pity that not a lot of people on this new planet seemed to know Italian. Alberto was still learning the basics back in Portorrosso, and he really wanted to speak the language properly. He grinned at Aeon after that question and gave a nod. She seemed fun already.
"Heh, I might have something useful." Shifting the bag hanging from his shoulder, Alberto started to rummage inside it and pull out the crystal rods. "I've been making them too, so I brought one or two with me. Do new cities often appear out of the blue?"
no subject
"Not exactly," he replied to Alberto. "This may be the first time it's happened."
no subject
"Alright, I admit that I know nothing about where the crystals should connect but I have two more that I already found at the Power Station. Just that with what Aeon has would make four. Plus whatever you've got, kid. So where are the crystals supposed to go?"
no subject
no subject
"I've got one more crystal, so that leaves us with five." Alberto stopped for a moment, considered giving the crystals he was holding to Echo. He would need to ask for them again once they found the right ports, so handing them out would be a waste of time. Keeping the crystals, he looked around the room as well, at Kaz, and finally, at the panel Aeon was studying. "Let me give this one a look while you decide."
The kid got closer to the station and studied the ports. The machine has more than two, so it was a matter of figuring out which ones were the right ones to put the crystals in, in case they wanted to turn this station on. "That one." He tapped the side of the top left port, and then two below and to the right. "And this one."
no subject
Whatever needed to be done, the clone left it for the others to decide. He didn't have the expertise and if they still needed a hand, he'd put aside the blaster to do so.
With Alberto pointing out two ports, he walked over to take a closer look at one side. "Huh."

The other had a monitor, and Aeon slipped up to it and slotted her crystals home almost faster than the others could blink. with a hiss and crackle of static, the monitor flares to life. Aeon watches the feed, too curious about the unfamiliar creatures she's seeing to make any other connections about the rest of the picture.
"Hm."
Out of the blue, she wonders what the little critters taste like.
no subject
Alberto was going to end liking Aeon a lot in no time, they both seemed to have nothing resembling self-control.
"Do you want to turn on these stations, then?" All right then, if they changed their mind later, they'd have to take the crystals out and put them somewhere else. Shouldn't be too hard. Only a few moments after Aeon turned on the other machine, Alberto inserted the crystals into the right ports of the station in front of him. Als, he's got engineering not Comms, and he's not sure where to go from here.
no subject
It was then sidetracked by the flickering monitor, his brow arching as the feed rolled on. And on. And for some reason he felt hungry.
Wait, what?
Refocusing. "Everything looks like it's running smoothly," he ventured after Alberto said as much, looking away from the machine and to Aeon and Kaz for further instruction.
no subject
Without any warning, Kaz felt hungry. After all this time in Temba, he had learned to be wary of sudden feelings This was sudden enough that he instantly felt paranoid about it and at the same time wanted to see where it would lead.
"Just a moment", this was said to Echo. Kaz couldn't stop whatever Echo planned to do, though. "Try using the crystals in the other stations", this would apply to either Alberto or Aeon or even both.
no subject
As the crystals slid home, the screen flickered to life with the same strange mix of images and footage as before.
"... Huh."
