[Judging by the furrow of his metal brow that suddenly jumps to a brief look of surprise, it seems the video feed might have been unintentional. He quickly schools his expression into something of a casual look, idly rolling a fish-like figurine between his fingers.]
Hey. So maybe I'm looking in the wrong place or the database hasn't been updated, so Holliday? Just give a holler or somethin'. Or if anyone sees her, just...yeah.
[Not that he thinks that's going to happen, but he's trying not to be awkward about it.]
Anyway. I'll um. Be at the bar making holes in the wall, if anyone needs me.

[ There’s a sadness in her voice and her expression that he’ll be able to pick up on but no one else would see anything but stoicism. ]
I haven’t seen her for quite some time. I’m sorry.
no subject
[He knew he wasn't fooling Ikora of all people, but at least they shared the sentiment of a friend they wouldn't be able to enjoy the company of here.]
Well, least she should be back where she should be.
no subject
[ She will miss Amanda and her practical ways. ]
I'll help you fix the holes in your bar when you're done. If you want.
no subject
[Had he left it with her before he found himself pulled into this crazy vacation? He forgets. ]
Hopefully they're in the right place. I'm trying to figure out how to wire my bar sign.

Least she'll be back where she's supposed to be.

[Although it already sounds like a moot point.]
no subject
[It really is, even knowing the likelihood of the otherwise.]
no subject
[He knows it must be hard for him, losing someone so he wasn't going to outright say that they were gone even if they probably both knew it]
Maybe not too many holes in the wall. Your bar looks fine as it is.
[Attempting a bit of humor there]
no subject
Makes me wonder how destructive I sounded there. I'm not tearing the place down, I worked on this thing too hard!

[ooc: Shiro totally would have tried to hide a pair of googly eyes somewhere in the bar. Just an option for Cayde to find at some point]
no subject
[OOC: omg yes. Totally making note of this.]

[And true to his word, he would show up at the bar shortly]
Hey there.
no subject
Hey Shiro.
no subject
So, what can I help with? Need me to hold something at the moment?
no subject
[He taps the ruler on one 'x' that he's drawn, and the pencil he points at another about a foot away. After some consideration he takes the ruler and places it so that it runs across both centers of the x's in hopes of giving Shiro something easier to refer to.]
no subject
[Shiro moved a short distance away to be able to look at the wall. He looked up at it, bringing one hand to his chin as he studied it. He regarded it for a long moment]
I think that side is slightly lower than that one. But only marginally so. Maybe only half an inch.
no subject
[Cayde tries to angle the ruler up on one side as he approximates half an inch. He leans back a tiny bit as though that'd help him see for himself.]
How's that?
no subject
[After Cayde made adjustment]
Looks good to me.
no subject
Great! Now for the actual holes.
no subject
Need me to grab anything for you?
no subject
[He nods over towards the table, tossing Shiro the ruler so he can swap it for the things in question.]
no subject
[Good thing he tossed the ruler before Shiro turned around. Since he could see it, he was able to catch it. With that, he headed over to the table and grabbed the drill and the metal hooks, bring them back. He offered Cayde the drill first, holding onto the metal hooks for when the drilling was done]
no subject
[Cayde hops back up and sets right to drilling. No smarty-pants green kids with big ears giving him smug looks about it either.]
Aaaaand now the hooks.
[Soon as Shiro's handed them over, he'll twist them into their corresponding holes. He steps back down, rubbing his hands together eagerly as he looks to the bundle propped up against the wall just off to the side.]
Is it silly getting excited about this? Because I'm getting excited about this. I have had this damn thing sitting here for over a month- two months? I don't even know any more, that's how long it's been! And we're finally getting this sign up here.
no subject
I don't think it is weird to get excited about. This is something you have been working on. It's normal to be excited about it.
no subject
[He pulls off the cover of the neon sign, the outline of a drink glass in blue with a white spade mark hooked over its rim. There's red Aurebesh lettering that encircles half of it.]
Next I needa make a hole to wire this thing in but for now let's see how it looks on the wall. Gimmee a hand, yeah?
no subject
Will do. [And he came over. Since his arm was literally not attached to his shoulder, he really could give him a hand... but he will actually help him out with it rather than making a joke]
no subject
Yeah, true enough.
Heh! That right? Have you tried riding one? I remember Tony tried to. Didn't have much success but neither of us really have experience training horse...creatures.
-all right, up we go. Hopefully the distance matches up with where those hooks're supposed to latch onto. See where your end goes?
no subject
I have not tried riding one. I feel they might be a little small for that. Besides, they seem more like sheep than horses in the fact that we can use their hair and it just seems weird to try and ride a sheep.
Will do.
[And Shiro moved so that they could start hanging it up, making sure not go faster than he was]
no subject
[Cayde ends up with his head against the wall as he tries to eyeball where the hook goes.]
Almost, almost- you got your end all set? I'll let go once you give the word.
no subject
[Even small animals could help move things as he understood it, as long as whatever they were moving wasn't too big for them]
One second... yeah, it's all set on mine. We can let go.
[He'd still keep his hands nearby to try and brace it though... just in case]
no subject
Well, aside from it not being lit up yet- whaddya think?
no subject
Looks good to me.
no subject
[He sets his fists at his sides, looking proud.]
Can't wait to get this thing lit up. Just gotta lure the kid back in to help. Maybe time to set up another cookie trail...
no subject
The kid? Setting a cookie trail? Do I want to know?
no subject
Anyway he seemed like he knew what I was talking about when I was asking about wiring this thing in so.
[Because it's completely normal to consider a child for an engineering job, clearly.]
no subject
He doesn't say much, but he's certainly pretty smart.
[Shiro had noticed that. It was just hard to get answers from him]
no subject
[He doesn't think the head-speak counts since it was back in that weird city not-their city.]
no subject
no subject
Well, in the meantime, I think that'll do. One step closer. You want a drink or something? I have some snacks in the back...
