Along came a Spider
WHO: Natasha Romanoff AND YOU
WHERE: Around
WHAT: A new He Row
WHEN: Now?
WARNINGS: None yet.
Arrival
This new He Row doesn't just wake up next to a data point.
She falls.
She hits the ground hard, rolling a couple of times until she hits the edge of the fountain. "Ow..." She murmurs, reaching up to grab hold of whatever she'd hit to help her get upright. This doesn't feel right. She gets to her knees and looks around, frowning. Not what she expected this to look like. What the hell is happening? Getting to her feet, her hand touches the data point and all the new information is downloaded straight into her head.
So it's a new mission, then. She sighs, brushing her hands off and looking around. Anyone nearby will get a nod. "Hey."
First Breath
If she's going to get the lay of the land, she might as well start with whatever ship she's been assigned to. She pokes around until she finds the one that opens to her. Stepping curiously inside, she looks around. Huh. She wastes no time poking around, looking in every room and getting a feel for the vehicle. If she runs into anyone she'll shoot them a smirk. "Nice place you've got here. Cozy."
Exploring!
Never one to sit idle, Natasha spends a great deal of time exploring the ruins of the city. Today she's found herself in something that looks like it used to be a store. Three walls and some of the ceiling are still standing, though it's pretty much an open air market at this point.
She shoves her two-tone hair back over one shoulder as she crouched down to pick something up. Frowning, she tries to wipe the dust and dirt off of it to read the label. It's nothing she recognizes. Curious, she turns it over in her hands, trying to figure out what it is. As focused as she is, she'll still notice if anyone approaches, whirling around and reaching for a gun that isn't there.
Wildcard
Any other thoughts? Hit me up! She'll be all over the place, trying to get her bearings. She'll probably drop into the Deep End for a drink at some point, too.

Arrival
"Hey." He scrunched up his brow a little bit. "You okay? That sounded like it hurt."

Looking back up at him, she thinks for a moment. "How many people are here?"
no subject
He took a breath, visibly considering her question for a moment, and then shrugged slightly.
"That's actually a hard number to keep track of," he said. "People come and go a lot, and you don't always know when or how many at a time. Right now, I'd say, probably about fifty of us? Give or take?" He frowned a bit. "There've been more, there've been less. Haven't really figured out an actual rhyme or reason to it, yet." And not for a lack of trying, either.
no subject
Fifty people... That is a lot to keep track of, even without them coming and going. "Interesting. One would think having some sort of logic for who they pull in would make this an easier task."
no subject
"You know, you'd think that," he then said, agreeing with her assessment of the logic part on picking people and keeping them or sending them home. He made a face, though, his thoughts on the subject clear. "But, nope."
no subject
She made a face, clearly unimpressed. "That's unfortunate. Poor planning on their part... Unless they didn't have a choice. Does anyone know how they're pulling us here?"
no subject
"We thought we did," he said. "We got really close, even. But, it honestly ended up being nothing like what we thought it was." His tone got slightly bitter. "It was almost like they deliberately set us up to fail... promised us something they couldn't keep. The Agrii were all about... do this one thing and we'll send you home. And then, nope. They suddenly couldn't. Something else interfered, and things changed." He furrowed his brow. "Something else didn't want us to leave."

"Not yet. I'm not the only one looking into it, and a lot of weird stuff has happened," he said. "I had been keeping better track before, but I haven't been able to really do that in this place as well as I had previously." He was determined to figure out a way to change that, though.
"I know others are working on stuff, too," he said. "I'm sure asking around will get you some answers that I might not necessarily have just because I haven't had the chance to check in with those people, yet."
no subject
But what he said started the gears turning in her head. Something going on. Some people know things... Sounded like it could be a fun thing to unravel.
"How secure is the network? Or should things like this be kept offline?"
no subject
"I'm not really sure," he admitted about the network. "Those data point things... they give you the knowledge for a particular specialty, and I don't have the one needed to be able to tell. You can switch 'em, though. I might do that at some point just to check." He considered the second half of that question. "As for keeping things offline, I'm not sure how much of a difference that'll make, but it's not a bad idea to try. The last time I got tied up in something like this, we did exactly that. We had an offline stash of information that everyone had gathered so far. It's probably not a bad idea to try that here... but I'm not really sure where to keep it. We don't always stay on this planet, and we don't know when we're going to be moved around. We could potentially lose the stash, even if we put it on one of the ships."
no subject
"They can't take it from our minds." She paused, making a slight face. "I hope." Ugh. Ignoring that thought. "As long as enough people know the information or has it on their person we wouldn't have to worry about a stash."
no subject
"We'll have to make sure it's a decent number of people, and that we keep sharing it," he said. "If the one person with everything disappears suddenly, then we lose it." Redundancy would be their friend, in that case. "It's a good idea, though... to keep it with us... keep sharing..."
