[ Static is what begins this broadcast. A little crackle at first, but quickly increasing and peaking for a moment before receding again. Once it has mostly died down a deep, labored intake of breath can be heard before the image taken of the camera flickers to life.

Jon looks into said camera with a mix of dread and fatigue, fresh blood smeared through a face that hasn't been a shower in a while, yet has been to plenty of unpleasant places very recently. His hair is messy. Cut short and out of his face for practicality, but nowhere as neatly trimmed as it has been after their visit to Coruscant. Much more notable are his eyes, however. Where before their dull, muddy green hasn't been drawing much attention, they are now a brighter, much more piercing and maybe a little unnatural greyish green.

After a moment of quietly contemplating his screen, Jon's face settles into a frown. His voice carries a slight tremor when he starts speaking, causing the static to return for half a moment before it levels back down along with the tremor in Jon's voice. ]

H̶ow.̧.̡. ̀

... how long was I gone? And--

What happened to the network?

[ He tried scrolling back, but all he can see is the same message, over and over and over again. ]

[Catra's far too close to the camera, looking ready to bite Jon's head off.]

Is that blood? Are you okay???

[ Jon holds his phone further away in response. ]

Jesus Christ, Catra!

B-back on Earth, I suppose. What used to be Earth, at least.

I'm afraid it is. And I will be.

In a moment. It's healing. Can breathe normally again already.

[ And he's clearly struggling to his feet, grimacing at his own movement and trying to focus, which only causes another bout of static to crackle over the screen. ]

It's only been a couple of weeks since I called that town meeting. So you can't have been gone long.

Um. What can we do to help? [That green glow is not reassuring. It screams 'power' to Ezra, and Jon himself had been fairly clear on the fact any power like that from, from Jon's world, must be...handled carefully, at best.]

[ It's a little odd to be thinking with actual time again. But it's... Nice? To have it back? ]

It looks broken. All the messages are the same!

...Right. Um...Hang on.

[He's shuts off his feed and a moment later Billy appears with a flash a blue light.]

Shit, Jon, what happened? Um- where are you hurt? Let me-...god.

[ A sigh. ]

Forge, right. Nearly get killed, stay in the forge, not go to the hospital. right.

[ He makes an exasperated noise, then shakes his head and frowns at his screen. ]

...do what?

[Quietly-] Longer for you, huh? [Just a guess.]

Yeah, that happened a few days ago. You're the only name that went missing from the directory around then, so...maybe someone was really unhappy you were gone.

Stabbed.

[ Jon offers with a single hand pressed to the dark red patch on his chest. ]

I... Hope it was worth it. And that Martin is alright.
He didn't show up here? I can't see him even if I try directing my mind on him.

I mean, is that really a surprise?

The screen is all- [She gestures, not sure how to explain the static.] ...Why is there blood on your face?

Time literally didn't exist anymore back in my world. Something passed there, but it wasn't time.

[ He takes the additional information in, scowling. ]

...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to leave. I... I will find him.

[Billy pales, and nods, kneeling beside him, nudging his hand away to apply firm pressure with his own, murmuring spells under his breath.

He looks up in confusion and shakes his head lightly.]

...Who's Martin?

How things work changed. That doesn't sound...good.

[He sighs.]

I'm not even going to ask if you're ok. Like, do you want actual company or would you prefer to be left alone?

Ah. So THAT is what that was about.

Clearly that was Tony then. Hey look, they gave you back.

[He sighs, fingers curling through his hair. He chose audio to hide the fact that the way Jon looks bothers him.]

Home?

I, ahh...

[ He fidgets a little, one hand hovering slightly above Billy's as he watches and feels the younger man's magic do its work. ]

...Martin, he... He is- Was?
My reason. To try and change our world back. He made me promise... Maybe he's still there and it worked? Maybe he can be free... I... would want that for him.
No more monsters...

[ A brief pause, a quick intake of breath and Jon is ready to babble on. ]

H-he stabbed me. It would make sense if he wasn't-- Here, I mean-

You're right. It really shouldn't surprise me...

[ He admits this with a sigh, pausing what he is doing to look at his own phone. ]

Oh, ah... I- I'm sorry about that.

[ And he waves her question off unhappily. ]

...don't worry about that, Catra. I'll be fine. Didn't kill me as much as I believed it would.

Has... Anything terrible happened while I was away?

[ Jon simply shakes his head. ]

Good didn't exist anymore, either. Maybe... Maybe we managed to change it back?

...I will be okay. In a bit. Being back here... It's a change. Makes my head feel less crowded and yet... Slower? Huh.

Tommy...

[ Right. Catra already mentioned something of that sort. ]

...Tony, he... Took it badly. I'll find him.

[ Then there is a pause. A small nod and a sigh. ]

If you could call it that. It... was bad.
And it was my fault.

What is that supposed to mean??? You're not allowed to die. How can something only kill you a bit??

[Catra frowns, and seems to be moving now. If Jon looks closely he might catch sight of the big hole in the ceiling of the factory as she passes it.]

The network went all weird, and Tony fell out of the sky, that's about it. You weren't gone long.
