[once Starling has offloaded her supplies from the First Breath, the challenge is where to bring them all. she puts them all in a corner of the hangar for the moment, and perches on a crate while she opens up a video feed.
as it turns on, she's tending to her hair - a few loose strands came out of her ponytail, and she's tucking them behind her ear]
Hey, all. This is Clarice ... I know I've met most of you already, and some of you are seeing Temba for the first time. I was only here for a day before Coruscant, so I'm mostly in the same ship, as it were. I got a lot of good supplies for us to use, but I'm at a loss as to where to put 'em. Or where to put myself, too. Any advice'd be sorely welcome.
Also, since we were sent to gather information, and I did an awful lot of that back home, I'd like to help compile everything anyone might'a found. Not to brag, but I've been piecing collections of evidence and data together to make bigger pictures for a long time, so we might be able to get a little more for the Agri if we have everything together.
I'm in the hangar right now, if anyone wants to come see me, but I might make my way toward the Deep End later in the day.

So, that'll be a cluster of buildings we're making habitable. I'm sure we'd be happy to help someone else do some clearing out and fixing up. Well, I would, anyway, and I can do some heavy lifting with the Force.
I was also thinking before we went offworld that some sort of regular get together to compare notes and makes decisions as a group would be a good idea. So maybe we should designate a meeting place? [That may just be putting a big bullseye up for nonsense, both internal and external, especially if they are actually being watched. But they won't know until they try, will they?]
Not at the temple area. Everyone's welcome there as long as they're civil, I'm sure, but a place for decision making should be someplace completely its own thing, I think.

I believe there are rooms in the old hotel at the center of the city that have been cleaned out and are available to be used. That might be an option until you found a place of your own. If you need to store some of your items somewhere, I can offer you one of the backrooms here in the library.
Obviously I agree on sharing our information. The last time we were sent to a different planet the Agrii called us all to the amphitheater... Odd that they don't see any reason to do so this time when they even asked us to learn about Coruscant.
no subject
I'm talking to Jon right now about the library... But he did mention an amphitheater ... what about that?
no subject
The library might be good for some of the more fragile things... I can take you up on that. As far as the building and wiring supplies, do you think they'd keep alright in the hangar, or should we put them someplace a bit more central?
[the comment about the amphitheater gives her pause]
That is strange. Normally, logic would make me think they didn't have time, but ... this would've taken a lot of coordination. And I'm still puzzling over how they were able to give us unlimited credits when they can't even get the resources to fix things here.
no subject
[ He never bothered putting anything up since the library is mostly empty anyway. ]
And I agree. Construction material should be fine in the hangar. But anything you want to keep near but can't fit into your hotel room... Well.
[ A shrug. It's welcome to be stored in the big building with lots of unused space. ]
Unfortunately a lot of what they do or decide makes little sense. We... Actually met them? Interacting with the Agrii is... ah... It's a lot like interacting with a young child. They're very enthusiastic at least. But you raise a good question about their ability to create an endless supply of those credits... They literally make us request everything we need one piece at a time while we're here.

[she's from 2001, smartphones are way ahead of her]
Yeah, that ... wow, that really doesn't jive with how capable they were of setting us up on Coruscant. D'you think there's someone else pulling strings they don't want us to know about for some reason?
no subject
[ Being a proper millennial, he remembers the pre-smartphone times still, at least. ]
Actually... We may already know who's pulling the strings. They are called the Atroma and were the ones providing the Agrii with a space ship to evacuate. They have... Kidnapped people in the past. Put them in ships and recorded them for some sort of reality show. I... Saw some of those episodes. On the ship the Agrii are on. The Agrii are very taken by this show and its heroes. Just as they are very taken with us.
[ Their very own set of heroes. ]

"There might be reasons for us to want an indoor place to meet, sometimes, but as a primary location the amphitheater makes sense to me."
no subject
She pauses for a second before circling back to the topic at hand. "What're you and Obi-Wan gonna start with? Do you have plans yet, or are you still drawing them up?"
no subject
Get outta Dodge. This thing is a mobile phone? They're the size of bricks back home and they don't sound even a quarter as clear as this. ... I'll be damned.
[her awe at the advance in technology fades slowly to distinct disapproval as Jonathan regales her with the details of the Atroma, however. she doesn't know what a 'reality show' is, but it sounds awful at the barest face value]
So these Atroma could be taking advantage of the Agrii's admiration for their ... little show ... but why, exactly, we can't say? I dunno how many barns you've ever been in, Jon, but I know the smell of bullshit pretty well, and I'm getting a whiff.
no subject
[ The geography seems largely the same, however. ]
They took advantage of other races as well, even used a rather primitive one as set dressing baiting us to assume they attacked the Agrii and attack these innocent beings. But... Let me find the video we found on the ship the Agrii are using.
[ It takes a few moments, but Jon then shares this video with Clarice:
As you keep watching, it is clear that these people ARE from Drift Fleet. A Drift Fleet that aired episodes 100 years ago. Your shuttles are there, looking newer (but older-fashioned) and with different names. But they’re the same shuttles. It appears as though this Drift Fleet has made a supply stop at Temba. (Heroes who were recently in the Drift Fleet will notice this is just like dozens of other stops the Fleet made on occupied worlds.) The Agrii have set up trading tables and exchange goods for credits - credits that seem to mean nothing to them, even though they gladly accept them. It’s as though this is normal for them, to see strange people walking around their town, carrying money and needing supplies. And perhaps it is.
But halfway through the recording, the energy storms start. They are harsh and deadly to the Agrii who fall, choking to the ground. They seem surprised. Like they have never experienced an energy storm before. The rest of the ‘episode’ shows the Fleet working to get the Agrii off the planet and up into a ship the Atroma provided. It’s the same ship the Agrii are using still.
The video ends with Temba abandoned and its people stuck in a ship they do not understand. The Fleet is forced to move on to their next drift and their next stop. Agra 10 is left behind them, abandoned and forgotten. ]

the storm is the first she's seen with her own eyes, and her eyes widen as she watches the rest of it play out, then narrow again. she's not about to wholesale blame the Atroma, but ... she has more questions, along with a little more understanding for what may have led to their current situation.]
Thank you, Jon. That was ... important.
[she takes another moment to mull it over]
Do you know if those storms showed up anywhere else on this ... what'j'a call it? Reality show?
no subject
"Sounds groovy, man." She can't help herself. "I've got a bunch of supplies Jon's letting me store in the archive, and the heftier stuff is staying in the hangar. If you need any of it, it's yours."
no subject
"Thanks, Clarice! I got seeds to plant, but I think I have everything I need for that."
no subject
I feel like there is a lot of information that needs to be shared on a much wider scale. That's... What I had hoped to turn the former library into, if I'm being quite honest.
[ Which so far he hasn't had much success with. ]
No, that's not something I could clearly say. For a while it looked as if the tower in the North-Western part of the city was tied to the storms, but... We never could quite prove that. Where you here when there was still a blue light at its top?
[ He doesn't believe she was, but can't be entirely certain. ]
no subject
"No problem, hon. I'll see you around, yeah? Good luck with the garden."
no subject
[she's not paying him lip service, either: she's seen his zeal, she really does believe it]
I ... hmm. You know, give me a second to try and remember.
[aka mun is not able to pop on Discord and ask rn, plz hold]
no subject
You may rather remember being here when the huge spiders invaded the city. That's when... That may actually have been caused by the tower. We sort of... Broke it. When trying to turn off its signal.
no subject
[she shakes her head and manages to suppress a shudder. regular old spiders don't bother her any, but giant ones? not enough tuffets, curds, or whey in the world, nosiree bob]
no subject
Spiders aside, the tower is still there. And while the light on it was active, an energy field was active around it very much like the storms we have experienced in the past. Unfortunately we couldn't conduct any proper research before it broke.

[ Jon sighs, shaking his head. ]
So far, nothing. Sundance has tried to hack into it with no success.
no subject
Who or what is a Sundance?
no subject
As for Sundance... She's Cayde's Ghost. If you meet Cayde, you will meet Sundance as well. A floating, sentient little robot. O-of sorts.
no subject
... so that's what that was. I wasn't sure if it'd be rude to ask.
no subject
But certainly. I can show you the place. It's one of the side rooms of the library. I gather anything that might be usable in there.
OK if we wrap this and handwave? ;)
