Starling's intrigued by whatever a Stargate is, but she can recognize an attempt to change the subject a mile away, especially one as blatant as Drake's. If he was involved in some sort of attack, there might have been trauma involved, and she can absolutely understand wanting to veer away from something like that. She gives him a pass, intrigued by the rig he's been distracted by.

"You'd certainly know better than I would, Doctor," she says graciously. "I don't think they're as likely to haggle on equipment like this, either, if that helps."
