WHO: Wen Ning and everyone
WHERE: Main part of the city or the woods
WHAT: Exploring the land and collecting plants used for healing purposes.
WHEN: Current
WARNINGS: None at the moment will update when necessary
Wen Ning was starting to understand the layout of the land better and the city. He managed to even make a few connections. Things were starting to look promising, but he still couldn't shake off the feeling of loneliness and not knowing anything in this foreign land. He had never left far from home like this before. For the millionth time since his arrival, he wished his sister was here with him. It felt strange not being with her.
With his temporarily made bag, Wen Ning continued to pick up various plants that could be used for medicine and healing. There were many plants he wasn't too familiar with and there were some that he knew. However, based on the knowledge he had he managed to pick up the ones he felt were safe. He hoped someone here could tell him what they were.
For the most part he kept to himself silently observing everyone and gaining information that way. When he did venture into the crowds he made sure to be polite and cause any trouble. Only gathering information or providing the little bit of information he had.
He had been told there was a hospital here, and he wanted to go find that place. Perhaps, he could lend them his knowledge and help this way. He tried to make sure his black and maroon robes were presentable. They were starting to look worn and had dirt stains and tears. Hanging at his waist was his sword as well. It would have to do. He asked people for the direction of the hospital and where he could find a place to stay. He only hoped they would take him in and if what he knew would be beneficial for them.

Hospital
The Archivist looks up when a new face enters the hospital and inclines his head a little "Can I... Can I help you?"
Hospital
He gave a polite bow in greeting the other. "I had been informed that this was the hospital....I had been collecting herbs that could be used for healing and had hoped to provide them."
no subject
"You're familiar with what herbs can be used to treat wounds?" The Archivist inquires, not bothering to hide his curiosity, but quickly enough adding "I'm Jonathan Sims, by the way. But just- Just call me Jon, please. I currently- I mean... I try to run this place?"
no subject
Carefully he handed Jon his makeshift bag filled with various plants and roots that could be used to heal when applied right. "I'm Wen Ning."
no subject
He gestures for Wen Ning to step further inside "We can talk further over some tea if you like."
no subject
The fact that Jon wasn't a medical professional was startling. They had no one working here at the hospital? This indeed was going to be a big challenge for him and he only hoped to live up to his family name and make his sister proud.
"What do you wish to discuss?" he questioned. He wasn't much of a conversationalist and he didn't know the other well.

So he leads the way to a room just a little further back that serves as something one may consider a break room. There is a makeshift kitchen and a corner to sit in. A thermos flask with tea is still sitting on the table and Jon picks up two clean mugs before indicating for Wen Ning to take a seat as he does so himself.
"I just think we both could use a break. And maybe..." He sets the mugs down as well as the bag of herbs. "Maybe you still have some questions. Or you can answer some of mine. We don't get many new faces here often."
no subject
"I'll admit....everything is very different here. There are a lot of things I don't understand. Perhaps.... I believe the correct term is that things feel more advanced. Tony Stark showed me things that we didn't have back home. The electricity. We use candles for light."
Wen Ning carefully explained and had trouble pronouncing the word electricity.
no subject
"Can I ask you where you are from, Wen Ning?" He has a suspicion, but those always should get confirmed.
no subject
"I'm from China, but not the China I think Tony Stark thinks it seems to be. It's an older China? The people I'm with we have a particular magic that we call it cultivating. There are various sects/clans that know this magic. This separates us from the regular people. We deal with spirits, demons, and the undead and work to put them at rest.
I was beginning to learn to cultivate before I arrived here. But my strength is with healing. That is where my heart lies."
no subject
"Do you use your magic for healing as well?" He wonders, taking a sip of his own tea. The herbs are already a good start and Jon has intended to ask about them and their specific uses, but potentially useful magic is nothing he will simply dismiss.
no subject
"I have to be careful when I cultivate because it can drain my energy easily. It's never going to be something I am strong with. I work with plants, roots, oils, powders, acupuncture and acupressure when I heal. I apologize that I can't use my own magic to heal."
Wen Ning took a pause to enjoy the tea. It was different from what he was used to, but enjoyable. "What brought you to help at the hospital?"
no subject
The Archivist takes a moment to look into his mug, then he shrugs "I wanted to make myself useful. Then I upset the one person actually capable of healing people."
no subject
"Perhaps in time that person may come back..." Wen Ning replied even though he didn't know the situation. He just hoped that things might turn around eventually. The hospital needed more capable people.
"Regardless, you are making an effort to help those who need it. That is better then standing by and not doing anything."
no subject
"I don't know if he will. But... We will see." And it just might depend on how Sansa'a attempt at mediating between him and Altair goes.
"Even if he does, I feel you are a much better addition to this place than I am. My place is with the library nearby."
no subject
"I appreciate your support. Only I would wait to judge my skills when you see what I can do. I don't wish to disappoint people." Wen Ning replied somewhat embarrassed. He was used to his own clan looking down upon him and now a stranger was giving him support.
"Has there been a lot of activity here that required the need of the hospital?"
no subject
Jon nods into the general direction of the reception desk "I have... Started making charts. Of human and Chiss anatomy. To give us some orientation. It's obviously easier with healers around that can simply use magic but... We can hardly let ourselves depend on them."
also hospital!

I learned about the hospital and sought it out. Jon was explaining to me about how things operated here and what has been done."
Wen Ning glanced back at Jon. "Where are the bandages stored and what has been used to treat his wounds?"
no subject
But he turns his attention around to Wen Ning then, gesturing to Tony with one hand “Our... Currently one patient, Tony Stark. I..... Take it you have met? We have everything over in the examination room.”
Ei the one hand he ushers Tony in the direction he is well aware the man knows by now, while the other waves towards Wen Ning to come along “Guess I get to show you everything on an actual patient.”

Tony's appearance didn't concern him so much, just the condition of his appearance did. He was used to seeing injured people in all sorts of states. He gave a wary sigh and followed Jon and Tony trying to take a mental note of everything around him.
no subject
"All we will do is check the wound, maybe clean it and renew those bandages. If you wish, you can then join us for some tea." He can only hope that Tony eases up a little more around Wen Ning quickly. That aggression won't do any of them well.
no subject
Not any less aggressively, Tony hissed, "Did you check his credentials? He doesn't know what lights are," then to Wen Ning, "You're not going to try to balance my humours, are you? Just so you know, I don't do leeches."
no subject
You seem to fear my skills because I am from a less advanced world then the world you are familiar with. If that is how you feel then so be it. Perhaps, I shouldn't have openly trusted you from the start."
Wen Ning frowned as he looked between Tony and Jon. His one hand was clinched in anger, that he kept concealed in his expressions. Anger at himself for trusting others in a strange world as he tried to find his own footing in it. Angry at not being able to prove himself. Angry that people would continue to doubt him.
He turned to Jon and gave a bow of apology to him. "I apologize, but it seems that my skills are not accepted here." He then turned and left picking up his bag of herbs with him.
After Wild Tony Encounter~
He offered a small wave, slowing as he approached. "Hey- you a new patient, or...?" He didn't look so hot right now, and Billy flashed a sympathetic smile.
no subject
"I thought about working here, but it seems my skills aren't acceptable here." He replied softly refusing to make eye contact.
"We don't have electricity back home so that makes me inferior and unintelligent. I didn't get a real chance to show what I can do and what I knew."

Wen Ning quietly explained in honest answers as he was always known for. "I can understand that a patient can be upset and rude when in pain or in a situation they don't wish to be in. But there's a difference from being rude to insulting.
I had met him when I first arrived here and he seemed supportive. I thought I could trust him. I suppose I was wrong."
no subject
"Can I-?" he gestured to the space beside Wen Ning for permission before taking a seat.
"Both my parents are doctors. Different kinds, but...same kind of stress. My dad always said that being a doctor you saw people at their very best, and their very worst, and that the hardest part of it was that you had to carry through and be strong however hard it was. You're going to deal with people at their most hurt, and their most vulnerable, and they might lash out. They might hate you in that moment. But it's your job to be there for them. It's a really hard job..."
He offered a small smile. "You're allowed to be upset, but...if you want to do this, you need to push through. We could definitely use the help. But if you aren't able to take the bad with the good then...it's going to be really tough for you."
no subject
"My family are healers. My sister is the best doctor in the clan. She's been teaching me everything I know since I was young enough to learn. I understand what you are saying and it's true. My sister wouldn't have allowed for him to speak in such a manner."
There was obvious pride of his family and sister when he spoke. He became more sombre though when he continued into a darker subject.
"There are things that have happened back home...things that my clan did that weren't good. At home people don't like me because I'm a part of the clan. They don't care that I'm a healer and had done a lot to help those in need that just weren't my clan. I didn't participate in the atrocities they had committed. Not only do I have to deal with their view of my clan, but I am also dealing with my clan's view of me....which is very little."
He noted that tears were streaking down his face and paused to try and recollect himself. He was embarrassed by this public display and for always being emotional.
"I just wanted to try and help others prove that my sister's time teaching me wasn't wasted. I had hoped that my actions here could hope to atone for what my clan has done at home. But it seems that even here I can't even get a chance to prove myself, people are already judging me for something that I can't control."
no subject
"Look...no one here knows your past. You get to build yourself into whoever you want to be. And if you want to help people that's amazing. And yeah...people are always going to judge you...or give you a rough time sometimes, but you have to stick to what it is you want to do, and if that's help people, then you do it...no matter what."
Billy wasn't usually the sort for giving these sorts of pep talks, he always thought that was more of Cap's area of expertise. But...it seemed important.
"You keep trying. Because if this is really what you want to do, there are going to be some horrible, awful days, and you have to be able to do what needs doing anyway, even when you're hurting."
no subject
"But what if someone did come from home? I wanted to show them that they were wrong that we weren't all these evil people. And what if a patient doesn't want me to treat them? What do you do then?" He quietly asked the uncertainly still lingering.
no subject
"And if someone really doesn't want your help...it depends. If you're the only one there between life and death, I'd say you help them anyways. Some people might disagree. And if you've got help, then...pass the baton, do what you can. People aren't always going to accept your help, but you keep offering it just the same. Dad had plenty of people throwing slurs at him, and...worse, but...he said it wasn't up to him to pass judgement. They still deserved his help."
no subject
He didn't understand the term slur, but the rest of the statement helped him piece together what it meant.
"I want to help. I don't think I can stand by and not help." he replied in a renewed determined voice.

As he got up he gave bow of thanks toward Billy. "Thank you for taking the time to approach me. There is a lot I have to adjust to here."

He stared at the hand and remembered Tony having done the same thing. It was a handshake their way of greeting people. He awkwardly returned the unfamiliar gesture as he shook Billy's hand.
