It's weird and creepy as to just how alien a place he's become so used to can look with just a touch of fog and that eeriness of knowing there's things lurking about. At least this time he's not wandering alone, a small enough comfort.
The empty streets hardly make it easier to get to the mines. There's still more than enough of a distance spanning between where they are now and where they need to be, which is still way too much area and potential for more run-ins so far as Donnie is concerned.
