Watching Cole die had sucked, but had been manageable. Even being tossed back into the memory of finding out about Root's death, nearly a year after that day at the elevator, would have been manageable. They're events that she remembers clearly and in full, and no part of them would have been a surprise. But now she's seen the pain and terror and helplessness on Root's face as the elevator took her to safety and forced her to leave Shaw behind, and that had been new, and she isn't sure what to do with that.
