As it turns out, Fang is scavaging too. He's trying to dig through a mound of stuff as quietly as possible, looking for possible parts to fix their problem as well as parts to maybe start building a version of his precious Marvelous Queen hoverbike.

"This spot's taken!" he snaps without looking up. But then he thinks he catches sight of someone familiar and he looks up to see Donnie at the next mound over. "Oh, it's you." He smirks now. "Lookin' for a good deal too, eh?"
