Tony wasn't entirely reassured that whatever he had set in motion with Gladio and now Steve wasn't just child soldiers with a side of calculus and he eyed Steve cautiously, not hearing any patronizing tone but unable to shake the absurdity of the pursuit when he could be watching Donnie run from demons again tomorrow. It almost felt better that he could hear that false note in Steve's voice about the cloak, because at least they both were seeing the weak points. Starting with an understanding instead of having to convince Steve of his disappointment was much more manageable.
