Kind of like an extended adrenaline spike? I could see how that would get exhausting pretty quickly. Definitely plenty about this situation that we don't know enough about yet. Mountains don't just appear like that. Natural rate of change should be several millimeters per year, not per day. Either there's some kind of incredibly catastrophic natural phenomenon unique to this planet that's about to go down, or something is making one happen themselves.
