Tony had to work on his subtlety. He still tried to play it off with an innocent lift of his eyebrows like he had no idea that was what they were talking about, even if it was with clear reluctance that he finally said, "Yeah," then didn't have any followup prepared to change the topic. "Okay," wasn't it, either, and he tapped restlessly on the battle shell, chewing his lip apologetically for how Donnie must have been feeling, before Tony started pushing him. "So..." There were a thousand things to work on, one of them had to come to mind to keep Donnie distracted, but Tony's gaze darted fruitlessly until they landed on the boots he had brought.
