[Eli can be seen working in the green house tending to some of the plants near him, completely at ease. He glanced up at his communicator making sure everything was working properly before he spoke.]

Inspired by Katara's dinner party, I had been wondering. Were you guys interested in having another person provide food for you to cook a meal or the meal itself? I know that this world is very different for a lot of us. I've found it to be quite a challenge learning to adapt to things here. Granted, I don't know how long this would be? If we ever get the ships up and running and what their purpose is. But for the time being, I felt this would be a way to help out.

Depending if people were interested I was thinking of repairing a place so I could arrange for this to happen. I would also be looking for helpers that would be interested in cooking and gathering for the meals. I'm always open for new recipes and different ways to cook.

I'm no cook, but I will help with gathering whatever you need for the meals. Pretty sure yanking fish out of the ocean with the Force would be frowned upon among my peers on the Council, but they're not here, so you know.

[ ...well this is sufficiently awkward. Eli's ability to be friendly to almost anyone far surpassed Thrawn's and Thrawn was uncomfortable with the idea of Eli being alone amidst strangers. For reasons he did not want to think too hard about. ]

My skills are more geared to survival rather than taste. However, if you explained what you needed I could find it for you?

I always appreciate your help, Altair. Especially with the aide of providing the fish. I've found even with the fishing string, I'm having a hard time fishing. Once in a while I'm able to catch a few, but not enough to feed a lot of people.

[A beat, and then,] That aside, I will do my best to assist you in any way you need. If you need help with repairs as well. I'm surprisingly good at making the most out of what can be scavenged for.

[Eli grinned back at Thrawn, pleased to see that Thrawn was willing to help out. He knew that it was hard for him to be involved among crowds of people especially out of the military atmosphere. Where it was easier for Eli to handle civilians.]

I'll admit I am weak at repairing and building things myself. So this will be a huge adventure for me. I've had some experience at home, but not a lot. Plus, I'll be more handicapped with the lack of the technology I'm used to using.

It's a place where homeless people, or just people who needed could go get a meal. I guess traditionally it was soup? So...soup kitchen? People would volunteer there a lot especially around the holidays.

Yeah, of course, I'll get you whatever I'm able to if it can help everyone.

I think we're all missing the technology we're used to, to be honest. Though I imagine that the technology I'm used to would be positively archaic for you.

[Still, Altair misses many of the things he had at home. His ship, his holocomm, his personal datapad with all the information he had on it... Not to mention his personal effects.

No choice but to adapt and overcome either way, though.

It may have been archaic, but it would be better then what's going on here. However, I am thankful we have some pieces of technology working. It's better then having nothing....That would have been scary.

Yes, I would be interested. It is difficult to remember to consume adequate amounts of nutrition without relying on protein gels, which I have been told make me "boring" and "predictable" and "without taste buds, what is wrong with you".

If we're talking absolutely nothing, I agree. But I consider one of my virtues to be my adaptability.

Well then, once the place is open be sure to come by once a day or more if you need to. I can also always send you a reminder if necessary.

Not many people have had a life as random as mine. Had it been any different, perhaps I'd find myself a bit lost as well.

I am afraid I don't entirely understand what it is you're doing. I understand that you intend to feed others, but I'm uncertain as to why.

My desire to help others, sir. I can't help the usual way like I had in the military, so I figured I could at least help feed people. Not many of us here are able to adjust and adapt to the changes.
