Good afternoon dears.

[There's Lark, holding her phone in proper selfie-orientation, the background clearly indicating she's in the lobby of the Temba Hotel. Her free arm was wrapped around the big, cream colored, curly coated dog at her side, who looked very pleased just to see the picture moving on the screen. And behind her, just barely visible, is a large pack.]

It is starting to feel like late spring, or perhaps early summer. And this is a very important time. It is the time for me to head over to Sh'Ka to harvest things for pigments. Pigments for dyes, pigments for paints if people wish those, just plants that Moonshade and I discovered before.

Seems to me that it might be a good time to not only head over there for gathering, but I've got a list of foods to harvest and smoke or dry for the diner as well, per the young man there's request. It is a lot of work for one person, but I would not turn away from it. Especially as I'm hoping those bushes near that fancy building in the Northeast truly are berry bushes and if so, that I can get a good number of those for preserves, maybe even some leaves for tea.

This could be a good bit of work, so I wished to offer any who might join me an invitation now, so you can get things together and either join me by train, or if someone can fly on of the ships, transport that way.

What say you? I promise not to meddle with the network there either. I've taken Agriculture for the period of time I'll be over there, to make sure I only gather things that are safe to touch and consume.

[He's impressed with the things she's listed. And he did still have some of those bags that were used long ago.]

I can get there by train and help out.

[Who knew, maybe there was something that might not be so peaceful where this lady was, and if there weren't, he could easily help keep her safe.]

Food's important, especially for everyone here.

[Says the hunter and the fisher. Maybe there'd be some fishing to do and that could get smoked too.]

Food is quite important. And varied foods are even more important. So this is a good thing to make sure happens. So I am happy to do it.

ANd happier to have company.

[Trains always reminded him of the trip he took with the guys back home. That hadn't been a fun train ride and quite frankly it sucked for a lot of reasons. But he nodded to Lark.]

I'll get there on the next one out. Where am I meeting up with you?

Now that's what I call responsibility! I was Agriculture for a while, but even if I'm not anymore, I still have enough practice that I think I can be useful. At the very least, I can definitely manage the gathering part as long as I'm pointed in the right direction, if there's stuff I'm not sure of the safety of.

I should be able to make it by train no problemo.

You did? That's lovely to hear. Sh'Ka has many different things from Temba, but there are more fruit trees and berry bushes, and easily gathered things.

It would be nice to have more company.

Yeah, there are. Feels a little nicer, honestly, with the greenery. Less...apocalyptic? More nature-y is always a plus in my book.

I don't think we've met before! The name's Lance, nice to meet you.

[ Bruno won't even bother with the network. He simply comes wandering down the stairs to the lobby, grinning widely, bucket tucked under his arm. ]

Ready to leave!

[ He announces with a cheerful salute and a telling glance around the lobby, by now already well decorated with various paintings, some finished, some in various stages of progress. ]

Sure been running a bit low on our paint after all. And I'd love to help! Also hello you, little one!

[ Yes, this is directed at Little Bear, who gets greeted with a happy hug from the little old man. ]

[Yes, it is so beautifully decorated. And Lark was partially doing this to see that they had more soft yellow paint for her work room. It's all so lovely.

AS Bruno approaches Little Bear squirms his way out of Lark's grip and gets to his feet. This of course means his head is rather high up on Bruno, but doesn't that mean it's easier to be hugged? Yes it does. He's so happy at how easy it is for his friend who smells like so many plants to hug him. His whip-like tail is going a mile a minute.]

We will delay just a little longer, in case someone else wants to come down. Are you bringing anything in the bucket my friend?

[She likes Bruno, quite a bit. And it was nice not being the oldest human around. Having more people closer to her own age was a nice thing. Even if the man was energetic like a youth at times. Actually, that made him more approachable to her.]

Apocalyptic? Not a word I am familiar with. But I do enjoy nature. It reminds me of Rosie and Briar, and of course Tris, but only when there is weather.

It is a pleasure to meet you young man. I am Lark.

[Meanwhile she was torn about trains. They were useful here, but remembering them in Billy's magically created domain was unnerving.]

I believe it might be best to meet at the station.

Alright, I'll get on the next train. I should be there soon.

[Or so he hoped.]

Oh- Hello, hello!!

[ Of course Little Bear gets a good hug and a good ruffle through his fur with Bruno giggling happily at the joy that is so easily shared with this dog. In response to Lark's question, he looks up, but doesn't stop fussing about the dog. ]

I don't mind waiting. And of course I did! I brought snacks!

[ He quickly reaches into the bucket with one hand and, indeed, produces a small brown bag filled with- Well. The potential snacks. ]

Have you heard about sandwiches?

Snacks sound like a delight. Thank you for thinking of that.

[Sandwiches? She considers how to respond.]

If I take it from the verb, it sounds like an item where you put something between other somethings, yes?

Ah, well, if you are not, it won't be so bad. You can just wait for the train after that.

Makes me wonder how often they show up.

[Obviously Noctis was getting his tail in gear for the journey as he was talking.]

From my experience, it is roughly a six hours cycle. Not to say it takes six hours. It gets to Sh'Ka, waits half an hour, then returns to Temba and waits for a few hours before leaving again. It is rather usual. But it doesn't run at night.

Exactly!

[ Bruno gives an excited thumbs up after dropping his bag of snacks back into his bucket. ]

Very easy to make and so many possible combinations with what is stocked in the kitchen! And the best part? No plates needed! You just take one into your hand and- Eat it! Easy win.

Sounds lovely.

[She's smiling. The man is very amusing to her, and she appreciates his company. But, with the contact line going quiet for now, she turns off the communicator and rises to her feet.]

Others can seek us out if they wish. We should start walking now. We have time.

Might be too dangerous to run at night?

[This was him thinking of home of course, how the daemons loved to come out and be more vicious than the day time. Though he would argue that the day crowd was pretty tough at times too.]

Basically, uh... End of the world-ish. Or in this case, post end of the world-ish. This place overall is pretty destroyed, but it's gotten better over the last few years. Not exactly a place I'd choose to live in, though.

I'm sorry to hear that was something that you dealt with.

And thank you, I chose it myself.

That most definitely seems possible, even if it's shocking to consider. I've never known the night here to be more dangerous, though I suppose it should not surprise me.

I don't know, I don't go out much after dark. But I probably should, just to see what the difference is.

[He was up for the challenge and knew if he had to, Gladio would be right there. That thought was somehow really comforting.]

Of course we'd need light.

[The woman knew nothing of flash lights after all.]

I don't have candles for that.

[ Bruno gives Little Bear another squeeze and pats the dog's side in a friendly manner. ]

Come on, little one. We're going on an adventure!

[ He straightens up and walks the remaining distance over to Lark. ]

We're using the train, right? Never used that one, but I heard of it. Heard it's going fast.

[ As he says this, Bruno makes a forward motion with his flat hand. Never mind that technically? He's still the pilot of one of the ships. ]
