WHO: Peter & York
WHERE: York's factory
WHAT: Peter's out exploring because why not and meets up with York
WHEN: mid-late April-ish
WARNINGS: idk, I'll update later. Probably poor coping skills though.
What started out as A day, turned into A week which had morphed into A month and now Peter was just tired and spent and he just needs a moment to himself. He's ventured pretty far south from where he usually hangs out and finds his way to a factory and just starts to climb the wall.
He climbs into the corner and tries not to think too hard about how much better he feels having just crawled into a dark corner. Maybe the mutation made him more spider-like then he really thought it did.

Cozy. And it was York's.
Right now, he was the only light source, having gone into the factory and shedding his hoodie for the time being. Up the stairs - still wobbly - he went and into the office and froze. There was someone else in here. The scan showed that yes, that was a person in his corner. It was the cleanest spot and thus where the android usually chose to have his stasis.
The LED faded from a teal light shining in the room to a yellow color, muted a little by his black shirt.
"I guess if a shithole looks abandoned, I shouldn't be mad if someone hides in it." He huffs despite not needing to breath, looking at the other in the dim lighting. The LED color didn't change as it continued to swirl in that golden hue.

"Uh.. sorry. It's just.. it was dark and... quiet and I... like corners." Which probably sounds a little weird now that he thinks about it. Should he explain that better? 'I got bit by a radioactive spider' probably isn't any less weird.
"I-I didn't really anyone lived here."
no subject
It really didn't look like anyone lived here. There was nothing of comfort - no blankets, no bed of any kind. Just an trashed room with what looked like a first aid kit resting near Peter's spot. He ties his hoodie around his waist and finally moves a little further into the room.
"I think I saw you during that meeting in the diner. You were asleep at one of the tables. Get any sleep since then? I can't tell in this light if you look like shit or not."
no subject
Which was not what he asked. "Well... I mean a human can only survive on no sleep for.. uh.. two weeks? So I've had... some? More than three hours at a time? Eh. Rarely. but it's fine. Just.. don't tell Mr Stark-or Tony. I guess he prefers to be called here. Which is crazy because I'm like fifteen and calling an adult exclusively by their first name is kinda disrespectful-you probably don't care about that. Sorry."
no subject
"I don't talk to him here. I don't want to. So your secret is safe with me I guess." He scowls a little. There was only so much community here and eventually he was going to end up meeting Tony. The longer York could put it off, the better. "Some don't deserve respect and in my opinion a lot of humans fucking don't."
He was silent for a long moment. "I guess if you're rooming with a psychopath you can stay here. I don't have any lights in this room so we'd have to open a window."
The gold color glowing under his shirt was flowing into teal now at least.
no subject
"Well you're not wrong." Peter agrees with him on that part. He's seen a lot in his short life and yeah, sometimes people were trash. "Um, but anyways, I'll go okay. I-I mean Mr Beck got arrested. Or the... equivalent of arrested. I guess. So it's not like I'm rooming with him now."
no subject
There's no filter or thinking to keep him from blurting out: "no--" and then he scowls and looks away like a cat caught doing an embarrassing thing. "I'm not fucking kicking you out. You can stay. Just don't touch my stuff. It's really damn important for me."
The 'stuff' being that kit on Peter's side of the room that just says 'JERICHO' on it in thick ink.
no subject
"um... anyways.." he starts awkwardly. "I'm Peter. Peter Parker. Nice to meet you, I guess."
no subject
"Sorry. Being nice… isn't usually my thing. To humans anyways." He huffs, but more out of annoyance of himself than Peter. He was fucking terrible at this. "I'm York. York Stark. Resident android I guess of this shitty city. Formerly of Detroit."
Where he would almost much rather be instead of this city.
no subject
"Why not? Doesn't it take more energy and effort to be mean? I mean I default to nice so the idea of taking the time to decide to be mean to someone sounds-"
"Wait." he pauses as he processes those words.
"Did you just say you're an android? Omygod, that's so cool."
no subject
And it's not entirely what he expects. Viktor had a similar reaction but Peter wasn't creeping him out at least. He sits up straighter, focusing on the shape that is the other. "Yeah. Uh, one of three custom sculpt models made by Antonio Stark."
He pauses as he studies what he can see of Peter. "…you really think it's cool?" York hadn't met enough humans around his physical age to know what was cool and what wasn't.
no subject
"Uh.. but why wouldn't I think it's cool? I mean think about the implications from a philosophical stand point. It's amazing." A pause. "...also that still sounds rude. I'm sorry." Why does he have to be awkward about everything. How does he express his beliefs without making York uncomfortable because he's pretty sure being reminded that he's synthetic would be mildly upsetting at best.
"I just mean that you're alive and can think for yourself is awesome."
no subject
His sneakers slide over the rough floor of the office as York gets up. Walks over. He sits near Peter, keeping a safe distance. He's… surprised. Peter seems to think right off the bat that he's a person. Peter thinks he's alive, same as a Human.
"No, it's fine. You're not being rude. The opposite actually. A lot of humans in my earth don't think the same as you. We're in the middle of a Revolution right now actually, in Detroit. Trying to show the humans that we deserve to be seen as people with rights like them."
no subject
"Goodluck." Peter says almost sarcastically. "In my world there are still humans that are trying to be seen as people. Humans are just.. kinda trash. I get picked on at school because I'm poor. And... an orphan. Which, you know. How dare I? But that's nothing compared to some other people. I've learned that people in power don't like their power being challenged and the moment they feel like they're losing power they lash out."
no subject
York could still be surprised apparently.
He scowls heavily at what Peter tells him. "Poor and an orphan? How dare you think to exist," said with a sarcastic tone. "But you're right about people up top. Cyberlife destroyed Dad's home in Malibu, they organized a raid on the android's safehouse, Jericho, before blowing it up."
He looks to Peter. The world hated people like them apparently. People trying to just be seen and heard. "…maybe you're not so bad for a human." A small smirk.
no subject
He listens to the story about what happened to the Malibu house and frowns in thought because that sounds an awful lot like what happened in his universe only it was a terrorist that attacked Tony then and that didn't really end well for the terrorist.
"I'm sorry." He voices when York reveals that the safehouse was destroyed. "You shouldn't be criminalized just for wanting.. to be." he says solemnly. He wonders briefly if he exists in York's universe and what his other self would even be up to. Other than dying of asthma every day.
"Oh, well, I'm part spider." He says flippantly. "Well.. sort of. It's a genetic mutation."
no subject
York just stares at him for a few seconds. "Wait what. Genetic mutation in you with spider genes? How… that's a thing? Possible?"
no subject
"Apparently because I sure did get spider powers from a radioactive spider bite. But it's got it got it's advantages- I no longer have crippling asthma and I don't sick like once a month. It's been almost a whole year since I've been in the ER."
no subject
"Right, forgot health problems are a thing for humans like that," and he's nodding in understanding. "That's a bit of good luck for you. What sort of powers did it give you? I bet they're handy as fuck aren't they?" The sound of fabric drags against the ground when the android shifts to look more at Peter despite the horrid lighting for it.
no subject
"I guess..." Peter shrugs. "I mean, don't get me wrong I'm glad May doesn't have to worry about my medical bills anymore but... it really kinda sucked when it first happened. I didn't know what was going on and I was mad all the time and I said some.. really mean things to someone and..." He stops and lets out a breath.
"Anyways... I can basically stick to any surface and I'm really strong."
no subject
"That sounds hella cool at least. The sticking and strong part. Not the... saying mean things. I guess." York was mean three-quarters of the time so he didn't relate.
York reached out towards Peter, but more so the other teenager could see his arm. The skin seemed to melt away, leaving a white human-shaped shell in it's wake. "Don't touch. But you can look."
The android's free hand lifted to press at the panels, revealing a seam that opened with a soft mechanical whirr. Inside was a network of cables and valves and other mechanics that moved his hardware. There was a blue glow from some of the clear tubes where his thirium pumped through.
"It's no sticking to any surface, but I have a feeling you won't find another android like me in this city."
no subject
And then York shows him his arm and Peter's eyes light up in pure excitement. "That's badass." Peter says, watching the tubes but not touching as York asked. He can't help but wonder if he'd be able to help him if he got in trouble. That blue stuff looks pretty important.
"So... and if you don't want to answer you don't have to-" he starts. "-but are you gonna be okay if you get hurt? Not that, that's gonna happen but.. I mean, I'm just worried."
no subject
He makes a face at the question. "I've... been looking for parts. But they're very small, very fine, that I don't think I could make any from scrap if I tried. I have packs of thirium - err, blue blood is another name for it - if I lose any and some other small things in case of a small injury."
Teal eyes looked to ... brown, he was guessing. "But if I get really hurt, I'm fucked."
no subject
"that's not-I mean maybe it's not as bleak as that? maybe there's someone that could help? I'd offer but I'm in high school and I don't think I'm qualified-although maybe if I downloaded the engineering datapoint thing? We could figure something out."
no subject
He wouldn't forget that night. The night right before being brought here. Weapons aimed right for the head, synthetic bodies dropping to the metal floor. His fingers clenched into a fist as he thought about it. "But if you want to try and help, I won't stop you. I spoke with someone else who thinks she might be able to help get thirium from a replicator. I don't know if the Agrii would understand if I asked for it from the supplies box."
His unopened arm moved, and picked up his aid kit to open. Peter would find a packet of thirium handed to him. "This is thirium. It's blood for androids from my world. It carries information about the android and sends it through the system so it does what it's programmed to do."
