[ Rey hasn't really used the network to post her own things, only comment to others. But a question nags at her, has nagged at her, for a while. She doubts that anyone here will have any more information than she has been able to glean, but still, she finally decides she has to ask. ]

I know there are people here who have died in their own reality, or are going to die. Is there anything that can be done here to change that, were they to eventually return home (which I think is what most people want?)

The Agrii must have some kind of magic or technology that changes people's fates, otherwise these people wouldn't end up here in the first place.

Life and death are sacred. I would like very much to live, but I believe there is a reason I die. I can be alive here and I won't let that go to waste.

(Rey is sweet for asking. Padmé would love to live, to see her twins grow, to help Anakin...

But she believes in the Force. Her death wasn't meaningless.)

It's the Atroma that actually possess any of the technology bringing us here. The Agrii used to have access to it, but- It was taken from them. Whether or not we will be able to affect our... Fates... Hm. I would be lying if I claimed to have no interest in that matter myself. I may have died just before returning to this place, but even if that isn't the case, I hardly have a place anymore in my home world.

As far as we've seen, people don't remember being here at all, they just slide right back into the time/space they were taken, so...I don't think there's anything we can do here to stop that.

I wish I could give you more hope. Maybe they do have that ability, but if they do I don't think they've exercised it so far.

And who then decides who lives or dies, and when?

I wouldn't depend on it.

Usually there isn't a way to change fate no matter how much we may try.

It's just... something that seems off to me. But I died once and I came back, so at the same time they might have a way to do the same.

[ Rey usually likes the video function but her face is very expressive. Audio is deemed acceptable means of conversation, however. ]

Maybe just being alive here is enough but I can't help but wonder about it. And if there's only certain people they bring back to life here in the first place. Others I know of came from long before they died in my world. I guess that answers my question about their fates. Though the technology could be doing something to keep the timeline from being changed.

That's what I thought, I just thought maybe there was a way they could change that. Why would they have the ability to revive the dead in the first place, otherwise?

They already seem to be making that choice. I'm not saying bring everyone back who has ever died, but if they're already alive here, it seems cruel to... send them to slaughter when the Agrii are done with them.

I've changed my fate a few times. I wouldn't say it's impossible.

It is not the first choice they or their predecessors have made that I disagree with. But what they do is more akin to borrowing people for a time, and putting them back to exactly the same point, unchanged. You instead suggest changing things. So again, who decides who lives and dies?

How do you know you truly changed it?

I thought I was able to do the same, part of me still wants to, but fate seems to have its own ideas sometimes.

Time is... Well. It doesn't move in our absence from our world. I was sent back for a while and while months passed on my version of Earth, maybe a week passed here before they pulled me back.

I would like to learn more about the technology they use. If it's pure technology or might even have a magical component to it. The main issue right now it figuring out how we may gain access to it.

I think whoever was pulled from death to service here deserves a second chance.

It's... hard to explain why I know, but I know.

And would you be as adamant about that point for someone you considered evil? Or dangerous?

Yes. I would. I believe there's good in everyone.

I have heard people say that before.

I remember Poe saying something to that effect, he'd been gone for a week here and it was as if a year passed for him home.

[ That seems somewhat relevant. ]

They haven't given us much access to the technology, and what they have given us access to... I've never needed something to alter my mind for me to work on it. Jedi have to use our Force abilities to build our lightsabers, but that's more just... fine tuning than having to alter how we see the equipment completely.

In that case you were brought here with an advantage compared to others. The data points are... Well. I have come to view them as keys required to take up certain roles, making them available even to those of us that never held a gun, had a garden to test their green thumb or seen a space ship. Christ, I don't even have a driver's license and yet here I am, theoretically able to fly a ship.

Which I don't plan on doing, but... Well. As for our rather limited access, I assume you have heard about the Atroma already. In the end it all may be coming down to confronting them.

It is. But trust me, I speak from experience.

I spent most of my life in flight simulators, I know ships. But these ones I couldn't even make heads or tails of without the right data point. It was frustrating, and writing it down doesn't make it any easier. It's like there's a psychic scramble around everything here. I read about Jedi who were talented at doing things like that but this... It's beyond me.

[ Though she's better at the blunt force stuff, fine psychic tuning has never been her strong suit. ]

I have a feeling confronting the Atroma will be inevitable.

Well, I know literally everything, so I am intimately familiar with how disconcerting these gaps in knowledge that should be there can be. I still have the audio recordings of what I learned from the medical data point, but listening to it now? None of it makes any sense. I... Try not to dwell on it overly much.

Oh I've only been here a few months, I've meant to explore the library but I've been trying to help rebuild things elsewhere. I'm Rey.

It's part of what I am and, admittedly, was dreadful when I had little to no control over it.

Well then. Nice to talk to you, Rey. You're of course welcome to visit the library, though the shelves remain mostly empty. Just don't be alarmed by the mothcats that have made the place their home. They have proven to be very helpful with keeping the place free from any unwanted little pests.

[ Sure enough barely a half hour passes when Rey appears at Padmé's door. ]

Padmé? It's Rey.

(She answers promptly, ushering Rey inside with a small smile.)

Please, come in and make yourself comfortable.

(She is wearing a dark dress, but her hair is loose. Said dress once suited her pregnant body, so she has had to do some alterations on it. Thankfully her mother taught her those skills.)

[ Rey smiles a little tersely, not for the first time a little unnerved looking at Padmé as she moved into the room. The young woman looked so much like her daughter. Or rather the reverse was true, but Rey had only ever known Leia.

She paces a little as she gets into the room, rather than finding somewhere to sit, picking at the nails of one hand with the other nervously, before she turns back to look at Padmé ]

I have to tell you about your grandson.
