Things have certainly been chillier, but it doesn't stop Omega from going outside to explore a wonderfully white winter landscape. She'd seen things floating outside from the hotel window but it hadn't been falling leaves, or motes of dust or even rain. But it was quite cold, and it when she caught them in her hand it melted. And it was everywhere.

The baggy Agrii sweater of sorts that she wears over her usual outfit hangs down to her knees, the extra set of arms belted around the waist and the remaining set rolled up as much as possible, however still occasionally engulfing her hands. The girl has to push them up every now and then as she scoops up handfuls, watching it filter through her fingers before she lets it fall in wet clumps so she can let her cold hands recover. She tromps through the snow, beaming with delight at the impressions left behind.

"What is all this?"

Noctis woke up to it being cold in his apartment. True the temperatures hadn't been all that warm lately but he'd been able to get by. But for some reason the cold had woken him up. Looking up at the spare window that didn't look out anywhere, he thought of taking that down and using that as an extra.

Right now he didn't feel much like it though so he sighed, and got up to see what was going on. And when he did, his puzzlement turned to a smile. Sure he wasn't a fan of when Shiva froze his ass off, or of all of the snow the foursome had encountered in Ghorovas Rift on the train.

Things were different now and he wrapped himself as best he could before heading out. Surprisingly it wasn't anything like the cold winds that blew and froze him. This was a bit more pleasant and Noctis went outside to try and see what was going on.

He hadn't gone far when he came across Omega looking like a blissful kid and he smiled with a nod of acknowledgement when he saw her. But then her question hit him and he made a puzzled face.

"Never seen snow before?"

She kicked at some of the snow in front of her, watching it scatter in a small flurry with the brief breeze that picked up. "No, never!" she said, dropping down on her knees into the soft white blanket surrounding her, letting her hands sink deep into it.

"Snow..." It was softer and lighter than dirt when it fell from the sky, but when it gathered it was a little more dense. She pulled her hands up, shaking them out. And cold. Snow was quite cold!

Noctis felt his eyes go a little wide as Omega dropped down on her knees only because he knew she was going to get pretty cold. But he wasn't sure he should try and stop her at this point because the snow was going to tell her pretty soon.

And sure enough it did as she started shaking her hands. But he himself hadn't touched it because he knew how it was from personal experience. And even if he could somehow summon Shiva here, he wouldn't.

"Wonder if there's anywhere we could find gloves for you or a scarf."

The girl was back up on her feet, brushing off her knees with sleeves that had fallen back over her hands again, but this time she didn't mind it too much as it helped warm them up again a little faster. Snow was fun to touch at least for a short time, but she noticed she was getting pretty wet, and that wasn't helping for the cold.

"Gloves sound like a good idea," she said as she balled up the ends of her sweater sleeves over her hands, tucking them under her armpits to warm up. "Does snow always get so wet?"

Snow. What a lovely thing to see at this time of the year. Of course it was a touch cold, and that was, in its own way, less than pleasant on an older body like Lark’s, but she made do with it. And given what her craft magic specialized in, she was lucky enough to have mittens and a scarf of glownie wool as she moved out through the cold day.

What she hadn’t expected to see was the young woman frolicking through the lovely, fresh snow. For now she hadn’t intended much but to off the young woman her mittens, but with the question she was happy to come closer still, intending to answer first.

“This is your first time seeing snow, Omega? It’s frozen water, falling from the air. And wonderful for winter fun.”

The girl nodded as she tossed up another handful of snow. "It only ever rained on Kamino. Everything was always wet, and the sun only came out occasionally, not that I ever got to go outside of the city to see it past the viewports."

She looked at her damp hands, wiping them on her sweater before she rubbed them together to warm them up again. "Snow makes everything look so different!"

Poe's memories of snow were mostly tied up in the freezing and generally harrowing times he'd spent on Kijmi, both as a teenager, and...more recently. Yavin 4 didn't really have much in the way of snow. But this...this was all right. Not nearly as bracing cold, though Poe still wasn't really dressed for the weather.

He watched Omega and felt a smile find its way to his face at the wonder and delight. He didn't deal with kids a lot, but moments like this...

"This your first time?" he asked, smirking as BB-8 pushed a path through the snow so he could circle Omega and chirp excitedly at her.

Omega spun about to watch BB-8, laughing. "Uh-huh!" she said as she then turned to look towards Poe. "It's wonderful!" If a little cold, but it was still amazing. "I've never been anywhere that has this. Kamino only ever had rain."

"Same with Yavin 4. We'll have to worry about getting properly bundled up before it gets too much colder, but you'll be all right for a bit." A first romp in the snow shouldn't be interrupted by concerns like that.

He stooped to collect a handful to test how well it packed, lobbing the snowball towards her with an easy underhand throw and a grin. "You know, if you don't mind getting cold hands we could probably try building a snow creature. Or droid," he amended, looking BB-8 over. He'd be easy enough to recreate.

Oh! She knew this game! Just that the ball was much bigger. And...didn't start falling apart when she caught it. Still, Omega looked eager as she managed to do so, trying her best to reshape it between her hands. She looked towards BB-8 as Poe made his suggestion, smiling then.

"Can we?"

Poe laughed, and nodded as she tried to catch the ball. BB-8 trilled excitedly, trying to push the snow into a mound but not really succeeding.

"Of course." He shook his hands out and blew on them to warm them back up. "We start with a ball," he encouraged, "You need to pack it in tight, and then we can start rolling it up."

Omega watched BB-8, giggling. "Tight. Got it," she said with a nod, letting the snow in her hands drop to the ground before stooping down to start gathering more around it. She shook her hands out every now and then to give her fingers a break from the cold as she worked at packing snow into more of a ball shape.

"How's this?"

Kaz is one of the only ones with his own winter coat that was tailored to fit him with a fur collar and calfskin gloves. He stood out in sharp contrast; black lines against the white snow.

"Snow. Think of it as frozen rain."

This was not strictly true but close enough ​for now. Kaz did not ask if this was her first time seeing snow, her behavior said that it clearly was.

"If you try to catch it in your hand it will melt and be very cold to touch."

"Oh!" She'd been so caught up in her play that she hadn't noticed him at all until then, and he did make for quite a contrast against the whites. At his explanation, Omega looked up at the falling flakes again, holding her hand out to see if any would fall into her palm.

"I think I like it better than rain," she said.

The king nodded, though he wished he could somehow help with her cold situation. "It does if you stay out long enough in it." Which was the truth. Snow was fun but as Omega discovered already it was cold and wet. And not much fun if someone wasn't dressed properly for it.

"I gotta wonder if there's anywhere that people might have some needles and threads and be able to make gloves or maybe some blankets."

He thought back to his own place, but all he had was curtains. Of course if Iggy was here he could probably make something decent out of them.

Maybe.

"If you want, I can walk you home so you can go get warm." And maybe something warm to eat or drink.

“Yes, it does,” Lark smiles as she moved forward and finally pulled off her mittens to hold out to the girl. “Here, use these. To keep your hands warm. Too much cold is a bad thing for the body.”

It was starting to stick in places in his fur collar now. Kaz regarded her calmly.

"I suppose after you've seen enough of it you just start to think of it as a messy nuisance. But you seem to be enjoying it

"Maybe Lark does. She can make clothes and weave things." She'd even taught Omega a bit, although it was just for grass mats, which were at least very nice to sit on.

"I don't live far, really," Omega said before nodding towards the hotel. "It's not much warmer in my room though." Dryer, at least, but she hadn't thought to prepare for winter, not when she'd never experienced one to know what it brought.

Omega reached out before pausing with a blink. "Oh, but those are yours, aren't they?" she asked.

Omega laughed as she shook out her wet hand, wiping it on the hem of her sweater before she reached down to scoop up snow from the ground. "I think I like it. Will it just keep piling up?"

"That will depend on the temperature. If it stays cold then it will.*

After seeing the improvised and makeshift coats that street kids would make, Kaz could already tell that Omega"s sweater was not going to cut it

"You shouldn't do that it will just make your hands cold faster. You'll need to get a proper coat and something to cover your hands. Like gloves or maybe mittens."

He idly wondered if perhaps Lark was interested in making outerwear for a child...

“Yes, but I can make more. In fact…” Lark reaches out to touch the loose sleeves of Omega’s sweater. “I could make my own up from these if you don’t mind.”

The girl shook her hands out again, making a bit of a face as she rubbed them together to get some feeling back into her fingers. "Think they might have any in that store building?" It was so big that she wasn't sure where to even look for something so small as glove, although she absently wondered if she could find anything like the ones her brothers wore.

She looked at her sleeves as she held up her hand, which was lost once again in the excess of its end. "Well, if it'll be more useful to you then I don't mind at all." It did keep her hands warm, but they also got in the way.

He nodded. "I'll have to run into her then." And if he could get some mittens or gloves and maybe even a scarf made for Omega, so much the better. He'd just have to see what she wanted in return for her services which was completely fine with Noctis. He could provide food which was normally pretty good with those he'd come across so far.

That last part had him concerned. "You don't have a fireplace or anything?" And while Noct might not be able to make a bonfire like Gladio or pitch a tent or anything outdoorsy like the Shield, he could do a regular fire in a fireplace.
