"You have," Obi-Wan admitted easily. A sad smile touching his face as he looks at her, feeling her indignance. There was no hiding things now. So with that, he took in a deep breath and let it out again.

"To be quite honest with you Padme, it's not because I have any doubt on your part." And he was indeed being truthful with her. Shielding her had only been a part of it. "It's me," he then admits. "I wasn't ready to tell you."

He lets that hang for a moment before he decides he should probably elaborate.

"You see, I was there. I watched you die."
