Temba Network | Video/Action
WHO: Din Djarin/Mando and you!
WHERE: Around Temba and Not!Temba
WHAT: News, and exploring
WHEN: Throughout July
WARNINGS: None? Will update as needed
Video - Temba network
[With a lack of communications between the cities, it can take a bit for news to get back to Temba. Even exciting news, that everyone in Temba would want to know. It's been a while since Din posted anything to the network, but this is definitely news worth sharing.
The background behind him, is somewhere not too far from the train station. The camera shaking a little, as he's obviously on the move.]
So got good news and bad news from the other city.
First the good news: Obi-wan, Poe and me broke into the hangar there. We found more ships. Three of them. Called the Palm Cottage, the Cake Dance and the Flygood. Unlike the rest of the city, they got power, and seem to be accessible to anybody. So you got some place to sleep. If you wanna stay over there. Wouldn't stay in the Flygood, unless you like birds, however.
These ships also seem to of been designed by the Agrii themselves.
Now the bad news: They're grounded. Just like the ones here in Temba. [There's a bit of annoyed disappointment that filters through the vocoder. Can you hear it Agrii or whoever is in charge? Can you? He's not appreciating still being grounded.
So, any news from here?
Action - OTA
Din can be found around Temba. Particularly around the Jedi Temple, having gotten roped into babysitting duty for the twins, not to mention spending time with Grogu. He's not the best babysitter ever, but he tries his best. Feel free to critique, or give advice. He'll also be checking on people, while he's back in the city, and finding out what was going on with the mine trips.
Other times, he can be found over at not!Temba, there's still a lot of the city to check out. He can mostly be found on the back of his blurrg. The creature having been brought to the city. Took a bit of convincing to get the beast on the train, but it had fit, and made it safely to the city. He might be willing to give people lifts around the city, if they ask. It'll be a snug ride, though. Seeing as the saddle is only so big.

Jedi Temple Action
Well, he worked. Cobb should take it a little easier to heal quicker but he was never good at sitting still.
He took the afternoon off from all that and made his way over to the Jedi temple where most of the kids usually were. It didn't take him long to find Din, standing out like a silver sore thumb.
"How's the other city?" he asked as he approached. His face was bruised with a few cuts and his left arm was in a sling, his usual red bandana serving another purpose now. "Haven't heard much about it yet."
no subject
When Cobb gets to the temple, Din's leaned against a doorway, distracted as he checks the network on his device. Checking to see if there's any news that he missed, while out at the other city.
"It's got no power, and comms don't work." He says, without looking up at first, because once he looks up, the other man's condition makes him freeze for a moment in surprise. "What happened?" He's not worried, he knows Cobb is a tough survivor like him.
no subject
He was only guessing but that's generally how things worked. The city would get power and it would turn on some sort of broadcast tower and the comms would work. Cobb would also guess it would take awhile to get the power system up and running in the other city.
"Some rocks fell on me." He had promised Din he'd stay safe but there was only so much he could do with the mines. "Everything looked safe but I think the repeated vibrations from the train goin' back and forth loosened a ceiling bolt. Brought down a section. Starling and I were trapped for a bit but not real damage done."
Cobb grinned a little. "Still got my good looks."
Actiion
She stops and looks around, trying to match up buildings with the map on her tablet with a thoughtful frown.

Maybe a walk outside, will help the child calm down to sleep.
no subject
She waits a moment, listening before starting in the direction she thinks the sounds are coming from.
Action!

Hangars and ships are boring, so they're not headed there. Instead, the ride eventually leads to this city's museum area. Din pulls the reigns to slow the beast down, as they approach. Helmet tilting as he takes in the outer structures of it, and the nature images decorated on them.
"Huh. Don't remember the ones in Temba having those."
no subject
"Did find one thing while there. Or rather things. Whether they'll be useful or not, we'll see. But Obi-wan, Poe and me found three more ships in a hangar." Kind of convenient when the current ones seemed to be getting a little overcrowded crews wise.
Din was no expert on mines, and underground structures. But he knew there were dangers. Why he'd been willing to help test the air quality when Cobb had contacted him. In the end he wasn't needed, and headed for Not!Temba as he'd originally planned. But not before sharing a keldabe, and telling Cobb to stay safe.
That actually manages to get a chuckle out of him. "Good." He says, tucking away his comm, and moving a hand to clasp at Cobb's arm. "Good that you also made it out alive." Which...he's thankful for. "Anyone get trapped with you?"
no subject
"Why couldn't you settle down like your sister." The chiding is mild, almost parent like, as he tries to cajole the child into sleeping. But the kid seems more interested in everything around him, than any thought of sleep
no subject
A faint laugh escapes her as she hears the helmeted man try to coax the baby to sleep. What's more strange to her is seeing a wee child in... well, she supposes it's a more natural setting.
Hope this is okay, let me know, lol
The baby turns his head, from looking at the helmeted man, to look in Omega's direction with a coo. This sudden change gets gets a tilt of the helmet, and thr visor turning toward that way too.
"What is it?"
no subject
More ships was interesting. If no one was living in that other city what was the point of ships? It was something he'd wonder about while working on the mines and everything else he had going around the city.
He put his hand over Din's and squeezed gently. "Starling was with me. We were only down there for an hour or so. It really wasn't a bad cave in. Not to some I remember from bein' a kid in the mines."
Ones were folks died under a mountain of stone and sand and they just abandoned anyone trapped. Sometimes, he hated being underground again but it was necessary. He was the only one who seemed to know what mining was like.
"You babysitting for the Senator?" He nodded his chin towards the two kids who looked perfectly content rolling around on their blanket.
XD it's fine - also Din stop teaching the kids to be so rude
Clearing her throat, the girl straightens a bit from where she's been awkwardly hunched. "Erm, hello-" she offers, lifting a hand to wave.
no subject
It's not his fault!
Oh. It's a kid. His hand moving away from the pistol once he realizes that. A kid he doesn't recognize. She must be new.
"Hello." He says, offering a wave back, turning to walk over to her. The kid on his chest giving a happy burble. "Must be new to the city."
no subject
Even as the armored man's stance relaxes away from his pistol, the girl remains tense a little longer before she eases into a straighter standing position. She still might look uncertain as to whether she should stay or bolt as he approaches then, but to be fair, even with a kid in his arm, the Mandalorian cuts a daunting figure.
"I am," she confirms with a nod. "I was just trying to work out where things were. Ezra told me about a temple where the museum was."
no subject
"Ezra's a good kid." He responds back. "Well. If you're looking for the temple. You're on the right track. You're not far from it. I could...show you to it." He offers with a gesture. "Should head back and check on this one's sister anyway." He shouldn't be away from them for too long.
no subject
"Yours?" she asks, gesturing at the not-at-all-sleepy baby. It's so strange seeing one this way and she can't help but keep looking at the tiny child.
no subject
"Mine? Nah." He says, with a tone that could be amusement filtering through the vocoder. "Babysitting. Watching him and his sister. While their mom gets a break."
no subject
"Is it dangerous around here?" she asks, eyes flicking towards his pistol.
no subject
"Usually? Not really. Usually pretty quiet around here." Too quiet, really. Specially for people used to being wary of attacks. "But doesn't hurt to be ready incase. So far, biggest threats are the storms, and some of the creatures that inhabit the planet."
no subject
It's a little strange for her too, given the experiences she's been through lately. And even back on Kamino things weren't nearly so empty. "I haven't seen many creatures, except for the fuzzy flying ones. But they're pretty friendly." At least the one she'd come across had been, if a little bit of a troublemaker.
"I've never actually been in a storm before." She's watched them lash against the windows of Tipoca City, but clear days on Kamino aren't very common, and most of the rooms she spent her time in were either beneath the sea level or without windows.
no subject
"Ah, the mothcats?" He asks. "They are pretty friendly, yeah. Seen them hanging around the library." When he was on patrol around the city.
"Oh really?" He doesn't sound that surprised about it though. People, like Cobb, from Tatooine have never been in storms either. At least not before they came here. "Have a friend here that's not been in one either, before he got to Temba. He comes from a planet with no water." His reaction to the water here had been something.
no subject
"Is that what they're called? I like them." Except the one the ARC Trooper called Tony could be a little too curious for his own good.
"The world I used to live on is completely covered in water," she says. "It rains most of the time."
no subject
"It's what I've heard them being called." He says in affirmation. "Huh, really? His is the opposite. Desert planet. All sand and rock. Really hot, and never rains there." That Din has seen anyway.
no subject
"Never rains, really? Most of the time it's wet outside, if not cloudy. No one really goes outside the city because of it. The first planet I've been to was Saleucami." It was amazing feeling the warmth of the sun, seeing dirt and so many different kinds of plants. The sun and dirt may be generally the same but there's still plenty of new things to see around here too.
I'm sorry x.x You can punch me
"Huh, somebody put a lot of work into this." Or maybe multiple people.
no subject
"I've heard stories it once rained on Tatooine. But it was a long long time ago." He admits. Folk tales passed around by the natives. "The only water available to most now. Is what they can farm from the air." He's not really that surprised she never heard of the planet. Not many visit it, unless they have to.
"Saleucami." He makes a thoughtful noise. "Outer rim world, right? Heard of it, never been there." He admits after a moment.
no subject
"Water from the air... That must take a long time." She may not understand the finer details of how that works, but as little planets as she's been to, she's been able to tell the difference in the environment to figure a place drier or wetter. Still none beat Kamino for moisture.
She looks at the man, nodding. So he's familiar with the Outer Rim. Ezra had told her there were a few people from their galaxy, and she supposes if Mando is hanging around the temple area, it makes sense. "...have you been to Ord Mantell?" she asks.
no subject
"I've had a few jobs to that took me to that planet." He says, honestly. Though there's a pause, before: "Haven't gone to it in a few years. Not since the New republic took it over. Too many rules and regulations now." Because the New Republic sucks like that. No amount of price on a bounty, is worth the bother.
no subject
"...did the Empire end?" It's still a hard concept to grasp. The Empire is still fresh where she's come from, and although she knows even from her limited experience that there are people who don't agree with it, thinking that it will be over or revert to what it had been isn't even something she'd given thought to.
no subject
"Yeah, they fell five years ago." He slowly answers. He frowns under the helmet, as he processes it, before speaking again. "I...take it the Empire's in control for you?" He asks, there's sympathy in his tone. Though she's not the first. Seems like everyone, except Poe, from their universe here. was from years before him.
no subject
Mando says the Empire's fallen five years ago. She has no idea how long ago that is from his point, or from her's. It's still a long time to think about.
no subject
"If it helps any. You're not the only one here, that went through it." He considers for a moment. "And....the empire rules for some time. But it does fall." Does he tell her for just how long? He's not sure himself.
no subject
"I know people are trying to do something about it. So maybe it's good to know something comes of it."
